Ontario has 48 registered operators running 83 licensed sites, and that list changes almost every month. This page only covers casinos that hold a current agreement with iGaming Ontario — we check the official registry before every update, and any operator that leaves the province comes off this page.
Two things before you read on. We do not publish bonus amounts, because Ontario’s Registrar’s Standards prohibit advertising inducements to the public. And since 14 May 2026 the province has a single self-exclusion system, BetGuard, covering every regulated site at once — explained further down this page.
Registration at a licensed Ontario casino takes a few minutes, and the province’s rules make the process fairly uniform across operators. You must be 19 or older and physically located in Ontario when you play — your location is checked at login, and the account does not travel with you across the provincial border.
One practical tip that matters more than anything else on this page: upload your ID and proof of address when you register, not when you try to cash out. Verification is where first withdrawals get stuck, and doing it up front removes a day or two from every payout that follows.

Every casino we link to holds a current agreement with iGaming Ontario. That is the baseline, not a recommendation: it means the operator answers to the AGCO if a payout is disputed, has to offer deposit and loss limits, and is connected to BetGuard.
Yes. Ontario runs the only competitive regulated iGaming market in Canada, open since 4 April 2022.
Two bodies matter. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) registers operators and enforces the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming. iGaming Ontario (iGO) holds the commercial agreement with each operator. A site can only take Ontario players legally if it has both.

Not as a recreational player. Gambling winnings are not taxable income in Canada unless gambling is your profession and your main source of income — a narrow category, and a question for an accountant rather than a casino guide.
Offshore sites still accept Ontario players. Using one is not a criminal offence, but if a payout is refused or a bonus term is applied unfairly you have no regulator to appeal to, and no access to Ontario’s self-exclusion system. That is the whole difference, and it only becomes visible on the day something goes wrong.

What we weigh instead, and how much each factor counts:
A current iGaming Ontario agreement is the baseline, not a score. Above that we look at deposit and loss limits, session timers, reality checks, how visible the responsible gambling tools are, and whether the operator handled the BetGuard integration cleanly.
Not the raw count. A catalogue of 4,000 slots from three studios is worse than 900 from twenty. We look at studio diversity, live dealer depth, and whether the Ontario version of a site actually carries what the global brand advertises. It often does not.
Live chat that connects you to a human within a few minutes, during hours that match Eastern Time. We also weigh how an operator handles a complaint before it ever reaches the AGCO, because most never do.
A native app is a plus; a mobile site that works properly matters more. What counts is whether the phone version carries the same games, the same cashier and the same limits as the desktop one.
The heaviest factor. How long a withdrawal actually takes from request to money in the account, and whether the operator adds friction when you try to leave. The process is much the same everywhere:
The first withdrawal is always the slowest, because that is when identity verification happens. Uploading your ID and proof of address at registration rather than at cash-out saves a day or two, every time. As a rule of thumb: a casino that pays within 24 hours of verification is doing well, and one that takes five business days is telling you something about its priorities.

Until 2026, self-exclusion in Ontario was fragmented. OLG’s My PlayBreak covered OLG.ca, land-based casinos and charitable gaming centres, but not the private regulated sites. To exclude yourself from those, you had to contact each operator individually — 48 operators, 83 sites.
On 14 May 2026, iGaming Ontario launched BetGuard: a single registration that excludes you from every regulated gambling site in the province, OLG.ca included. It is the first centralised system of its kind in North America. Terms run from six months to five years, and operators are required to block centrally self-excluded players for the full duration.
Two practical points. A per-operator exclusion set up before May 2026 does not automatically roll into BetGuard. And if you are weighing an offshore site against a licensed one, this is the concrete thing you give up — BetGuard has no reach outside the regulated market.

E-wallets are typically same-day once your identity is verified, Interac usually within one to two business days, and cards can take up to five. The first withdrawal is always the slowest, because verification happens then — upload your documents at registration to avoid it.
Interac e-Transfer is the most widely used method in the province, followed by Interac Online, credit and debit cards, and e-wallets such as PayPal, Instadebit and iDebit. All licensed operators handle deposits and withdrawals in Canadian dollars.

Online gambling is not new in Ontario. What changed in April 2022 is not that players got access — it is that they got a regulator. Before then, Ontarians played on offshore sites answerable to no one in Canada.

The market has consolidated: the first wave of European brands that entered in 2022 has thinned out considerably, and the growth since has come from North American operators and from brands built specifically for Ontario.
