These are the ten highest-scoring brands of the 33 we have reviewed. Every one of them appears in the iGaming Ontario register and is licensed by the AGCO. Read the bottom of that table as carefully as the top. The scores below 3.0 are not a judgement on whether a site pays out — every brand here is on the iGO register and bound by the same rules. They mark operators that publish very little about their own product: no game count, no withdrawal timing, no fee schedule. A low score on this page usually means a company has decided you do not need to know, and that is itself worth knowing before you open an account.
This is the question readers ask most and the one the industry answers worst. Twenty-nine of our 33 operators publish a processing or payout time you can hold them to; four publish nothing at all. Several publish more than one, and the figures do not always agree. Everything below is the operator’s own published figure, not our stopwatch.

Two patterns are worth naming. The pending hold is the hidden cost. The four Casino Rewards brands here — Zodiac, Grand Mondial, Yukon Gold and their siblings — sit your money in a reversible pending state for 48 hours before processing even begins, which turns a “three business day” card payout into most of a week. It is also, in fairness, the only group that lets you cancel a withdrawal, which cuts both ways.
And a $50 minimum withdrawal is a real constraint. Grand Mondial and Yukon Gold both hold you to $50, or $300 by wire, against $5 to $10 almost everywhere else. On a small bankroll that is the difference between cashing out and playing it through.
Counted catalogues, not marketing rounding. Where an operator publishes an exact number we use it; where it publishes “2,000+” we say so rather than pretending the figure is precise. Size is the least useful thing about a catalogue, though — our breakdown of casino games in Ontario counts what is actually on the shelves, and 85.9% of it is slots.

The gap between the top and the bottom of that table is roughly sixteen to one, and it does not track our scores — Jackpot City scores 4.3 on a 400-game lobby while Spin Genie scores 3.9 on 6,173. Catalogue size stops mattering somewhere around the point where you cannot see the end of it anyway; what you play is a few dozen titles.
Live dealer is the part of the catalogue where the headline number is most often wrong, because operators fold live tables into the total and never break them out. These are the four Ontario lobbies where we counted the live shelf separately.

The Playtech point is worth more than the count. Most of Ontario runs the same Evolution tables under different wallpaper, so if you have played live blackjack at one brand you have largely played it at all of them — we counted every blackjack table in one licensed Ontario lobby, and three studios supply 95% of them. NorthStar Bets is the exception on this list, and Royal Panda is the one to check if you want live tables without installing an app.

A low minimum deposit and a low minimum withdrawal are not the same thing, and the second is the one that traps people. Yukon Gold lets you in for $10 and will not let you take less than $50 out.
Most Ontario casino lists are ordered by whatever the operator is running that week. That ordering tells you very little about the casino a month later, when the terms have moved and you are still playing there.
This page ranks on the parts that stay put: payout speed, real game counts, minimum deposits, licensing, and whether the operator tells you the truth about its own product. Every one of them is read off the operator’s own pages and the iGaming Ontario register, so you can open the same page and check us.
Every brand gets five sub-scores out of 5, and the overall score is a fixed formula of the five: games 25%, payments 25%, overall experience 20%, mobile app 15% and support 15%. The ranking is ordered on the exact result and published rounded to one decimal, which is why 888 Casino (4.40) sits above BetMGM (4.35) although both show 4.4. What each part measures:
Registration and verification friction, how the responsible gambling tools behave, whether the company named on the site matches the entity in the register, and how long the brand has operated. A site that overstates its own product is marked down here.
We count the lobby rather than repeat the marketing figure, and record the split between slots, live tables and table games. An operator that publishes an exact count scores above one that publishes “2,000+”, and studio diversity matters more than raw size.
Live chat hours, whether a human is reachable without an account, published response times, and whether the help centre contradicts the terms.
Whether there is a real app on both platforms, who publishes it, what it scores in the Canadian stores and how old a phone it will run on. A mobile site that works properly still counts.
The part of the product you feel. We score the published processing time per method, the minimum and maximum, whether there is a pending hold before processing starts, and whether the banking page agrees with the help centre. It often does not.
Two rules sit above the scoring. We score only what an operator publishes, so every number here traces back to a page you can open yourself. And we do not estimate: where an operator publishes no figure, the cell says not published rather than a number we invented. Roughly half of this market publishes no withdrawal time at all, and hiding that behind an average would misrepresent it.
Brands that are not in the iGaming Ontario register are excluded from the ranking entirely, whatever their reputation elsewhere — the eleven we exclude, and why.
This is not obvious from the outside and it changes how you should read the table. Captain Cooks, Casino Classic, Golden Tiger, Grand Mondial, Luxury Casino, Yukon Gold and Zodiac are all operated in Ontario by Apollo Entertainment Ltd, under the Casino Rewards umbrella. They are one platform in seven skins.
They share the cashier, the 48-hour pending hold, the $50 minimum withdrawal, the download-client heritage and the loyalty programme. Opening accounts at three of them to “compare” gets you the same casino three times. Where they genuinely differ is install base and disclosure: Luxury Casino has been online since 2001, names fourteen studios publicly and publishes a quarterly payout audit, which is more than the other six do.
The same caution applies to Spin Genie, SlotsMagic and PlayOJO, which share one Ontario catalogue of some 6,170 games, and to bwin, PartyCasino and BetMGM, which all sit under Entain.

We hold 43 casino reviews. Eleven of them are not in this ranking, because the brands are not in the iGaming Ontario register: Casumo, Betsafe, Wildz, Caxino, Wheelz, PokerStars, Casimba, Jackpot Village, Conquestador, Dream Vegas and Unibet. Some of them are large, well-known operators elsewhere. That is not the question here.
An unregistered site is not covered by AGCO dispute resolution, is not bound by the Registrar’s Standards on responsible gambling tools or advertising, and gives you no provincial recourse if a withdrawal is refused. We keep the reviews because people search for these brands and deserve to find out where they stand — but they do not belong in a list of the best Ontario casinos, and you will not find them scored against the 33 above.

Yes. Ontario runs the only competitive regulated iGaming market in Canada, open since 4 April 2022.
Two bodies matter. The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) registers operators and enforces the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming. iGaming Ontario (iGO) holds the commercial agreement with each operator. A site can only take Ontario players legally if it has both.
You must be 19 or older and physically located in Ontario at the time you play. Location is verified at login.
Not as a recreational player. Gambling winnings are not taxable income in Canada unless gambling is your profession and your main source of income — a narrow category, and a question for an accountant rather than a casino guide.
Offshore sites still accept Ontario players. Using one is not a criminal offence, but if a payout is refused or a bonus term is applied unfairly you have no regulator to appeal to, and no access to Ontario’s self-exclusion system. That is the whole difference, and it only becomes visible on the day something goes wrong.
Ontario has run a regulated iGaming market since 4 April 2022. Two bodies matter: the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario registers and regulates operators, and iGaming Ontario, now an agency of the AGCO, holds the operating agreement with each one. A site is legal here if, and only if, it appears in the iGO register. Everything else — a Curacao seal, a Malta licence, a Canadian-looking domain — means nothing in this province.
The register is public, searchable, and the first thing to check before you deposit anywhere. It currently lists 84 regulated gaming websites operated by 49 operators. You must be 19 or older and physically inside Ontario to play — operators check your location at login, which is the real reason most “I cannot log in” problems happen.
One check worth doing yourself: the company named in the register should match the company that publishes the site and the app. In our Ontario casino app comparison we found two cases where it did not — a NorthStar app published by a subsidiary serving an unregulated site, and a ComeOn listing in the Canadian App Store from a different company altogether with no mention of Ontario.

Interac and Interac e-Transfer are the backbone of Ontario gambling payments, and they are the fastest route out at almost every operator on this page. Deposits are usually instant or close to it; Betano credits Interac in about five minutes and bwin gives up to an hour.

Two things cost people days more often than the method does. Verify your identity before you need to. 888 Casino quotes up to 72 hours for document review and PointsBet up to 24; doing it at signup rather than at your first withdrawal is the difference between a same-week payout and a stalled one. And most operators pay back to the method you deposited with — Golden Tiger states it will in many cases be obliged to.
Interac e-Transfer is the default here, and for good reason: it moves money directly between your bank and the casino without a card network in the middle, and Ontario-facing operators have had four years to optimise it. Interac Online, by contrast, was retired years ago and is no longer supported by the banks, whatever an operator’s help pages may still say.
Credit and debit cards are accepted almost everywhere, though some Canadian issuers still decline gambling transactions or treat them as cash advances. That is your bank’s policy, not the casino’s.
E-wallets vary by operator and are usually the fastest route for a withdrawal.

The first withdrawal is always the slowest, because that is when identity verification happens. Uploading your ID and proof of address at registration rather than at cash-out saves a day or two, every time. As a rule of thumb: a casino that pays within 24 hours of verification is doing well, and one that takes five business days is telling you something about its priorities.

Every registered operator must offer deposit, loss and time limits. The Standards get one detail right that is worth knowing: a reduction applies immediately, an increase has to wait. At Spin Genie and SlotsMagic an increase takes 24 hours; at Betano it is seven days.
Online casino gaming can be an enjoyable pastime, and a damaging one if it is not kept within limits. Every licensed Ontario operator is required to offer deposit limits, loss limits, session timers and time-outs, and to make them easy to find rather than buried in account settings.
This is the biggest change to Ontario iGaming since the market opened, and most casino guides have not caught up with it yet.
Until 2026, self-exclusion in Ontario was fragmented. OLG’s My PlayBreak covered OLG.ca, land-based casinos and charitable gaming centres, but not the private regulated sites. To exclude yourself from those, you had to contact each operator individually, one account at a time.
On 14 May 2026, iGaming Ontario launched BetGuard: a single registration that excludes you from every regulated gambling site in the province, OLG.ca included. It is the first centralised system of its kind in North America. Terms run from six months to five years, and operators are required to block centrally self-excluded players for the full duration.
Two practical points. A per-operator exclusion set up before May 2026 does not automatically roll into BetGuard. And if you are weighing an offshore site against a licensed one, this is the concrete thing you give up — BetGuard has no reach outside the regulated market.

Yes, if the site is registered. Ontario has run a regulated market since 4 April 2022, and a casino is legal here only if it appears in the iGaming Ontario register. A licence from Malta, Curacao or anywhere else does not make a site legal in this province.

On published commitments, BetRivers is the fastest: its automatic approval system clears most withdrawals immediately, with PayPal documented at 30 minutes afterwards. Casino Days publishes the fastest processing figure at five minutes, bet365 lists one to four hours for Interac, cards and PayPal, and PlayOJO aims to process within 11 hours. Effectively all of them — Interac and Interac e-Transfer are the default payment method in this market, and usually the fastest way out as well as in. bwin credits an e-Transfer withdrawal within 8 hours of approval, BetRivers usually within the hour, and Betano takes about five minutes on a deposit. PointsBet is the one to read carefully: its help centre and its banking page do not agree on the timing.
Ten dollars at most of them. Lucky Days and Zodiac Casino are the lowest at $1, Betano and PartyCasino take $5, and Sports Interaction has the highest entry point at $20. Watch the minimum withdrawal too: Yukon Gold and Grand Mondial will not pay out less than $50.

Sites that are not in the iGaming Ontario register operate outside the provincial framework. They are not covered by AGCO dispute resolution, are not bound by the Registrar’s Standards on responsible gambling tools, and give you no provincial recourse if a withdrawal is refused.
