Casino Payment Methods in Ontario 2026

Every casino registered with iGaming Ontario takes Interac, and almost none of them take anything exotic. Across the 32 registered sites we track, we counted 22 distinct payment methods — but only Interac, Visa and Mastercard appear at more than half of them, and five of the twenty-two will take your deposit and never pay you back.

This page is the map of what Ontario casinos actually accept, built from what each operator publishes about itself rather than from a list of logos, across every site in our ranking of the best online casinos in Ontario. Where an operator publishes nothing, we say so instead of filling the gap.

What Ontario Casinos Actually Accept

Twenty-eight of the thirty-two registered operators publish at least a partial method list somewhere a prospective player can read it. Four publish nothing at all outside a logged-in account. Here is the whole province, counted method by method.

Counted from the method lists each operator publishes on its Ontario site, help centre, terms or app store listing. Blank entries are methods an operator does not publish, not methods we know it refuses.

The shape of that table is the point. Interac is close to universal, cards are common going in and much rarer coming out, and everything below MuchBetter is a niche served by one or two operators. If a method matters to you, check it at the specific casino before you register — the province has no common standard.

Interac Is the Province’s Default

Interac appears at 26 of the 32 registered casinos for deposits and 21 for withdrawals, which makes it the only method you can plan around. It moves money straight from a Canadian chequing account, it settles in Canadian dollars, and at most operators it is the fastest documented route in both directions.

The name covers more than one product, and the differences matter at the cashier:

  • Interac e-Transfer — the email-based transfer most operators use for both deposits and payouts. Turning on Autodeposit in your banking app before your first withdrawal saves you accepting the transfer by email and security code.
  • Interac Online — retired years ago and no longer supported by the banks. One operator’s guide still recommends it, which is a good test of how closely a site’s help pages are maintained.
  • Branded payout products — Interac eCashout at Royal Panda, e-Cashout at Betano, one-click Interac at Casino Days. These are the same rails with an operator’s label on them.

Interac deposits at several operators are handled by a third-party biller, so the name on your bank statement will not be the casino’s. Expect Gigadat, PayDirect Billing Solutions or Wyzia depending on the site — worth knowing before you query a charge you do not recognise.

Our guide to Interac casinos in Ontario takes the method apart site by site: which of the 26 pay withdrawals back through it, the published limits, and the five that take Interac in and never send it out.

The Methods That Take Money In and Never Pay It Out

Five of the twenty-two methods in the table above have a withdrawal count of zero: Paysafecard, Google Pay, NeoSurf, ecoVoucher and Flexepin. Two more come close — Apple Pay pays out at only four sites of the fourteen that accept it, and American Express at one of eight.

Paysafecard is the largest of them by some distance, at ten sites in and none out. Our paysafecard guide covers all ten, the $250 ceiling Casino Days publishes, and why a voucher deposit leaves you without a payout route unless you set one up first.

One method runs the other way and only one site has it: PlayOJO pays winnings out to Jeton but will not take a Jeton deposit. It is the exact mirror of a voucher, and it is the rarest entry in the table.

This is not an operator being difficult. A prepaid voucher has no account behind it to send money back to, and Apple Pay and Google Pay are card wrappers rather than accounts. But it produces a specific and avoidable problem: you fund with a voucher, you win, and now you have to nominate a method you have never used on that account — which is exactly the situation that triggers extra verification and the longest delay in the process.

Pick your exit before you pick your entrance. If you intend to use a voucher or a mobile wallet to deposit, check first what the same casino will pay you with.

Cards: Visa, Mastercard and the Amex Exception

Visa and Mastercard are accepted almost everywhere — 24 and 25 sites respectively — but pay out at only 16 and 14. Where a card withdrawal is supported it is usually an Original Credit Transaction, a push payment back to the same card, and operators quote it at around three business days.

Two things catch Ontario players out. The first is that your bank may decline a gambling transaction on a credit card regardless of what the casino accepts, and may treat one it does allow as a cash advance with its own fee — a charge the casino neither controls nor receives. The second is that debit and credit are not interchangeable in the cashier: several operators take Visa Debit and refuse Visa Credit.

American Express is the province’s outlier. Eight sites take it going in, and exactly one — NorthStar Bets — pays out with it. If you are an Amex household, that narrows the field sharply.

The two big networks are not interchangeable either, which is easier to see site by site than in a summary. Our guides to Visa casinos in Ontario and Mastercard casinos in Ontario list every operator that takes each card, the published limits, and the ones that accept a Mastercard deposit while paying card withdrawals only to a Visa.

Digital Wallets: PayPal, Apple Pay and MuchBetter

PayPal is the strongest wallet in this market precisely because it is symmetrical: all five sites that accept it also pay out with it, and where operators publish a timing it is the fastest one on their list. PointsBet quotes PayPal payouts at 30 minutes after approval and BetRivers at within 30 minutes — faster than their own Interac figures.

Wallet Where it works in Ontario In and out?
PayPal Betano, BetRivers, Caesars, NorthStar Bets, PointsBet Both directions at all five
Apple Pay 14 sites, including 888 Casino, Betano, bet365 and Jackpot City Deposits at 13; payouts at 4
MuchBetter 888 Casino, Betway, Casino Days, LeoVegas, SlotsMagic, SpinAway, Spin Genie Both directions at 5 of 7
Skrill Luxury Casino, SpinAway, Zodiac Casino Both directions at 2 of 3
Google Pay Betano, PointsBet Deposits only
Wallet availability across the 32 registered Ontario casinos, from each operator’s published method list.

The practical reading: if you want a wallet that works in both directions, PayPal and MuchBetter are the two that do it consistently, and between them they cover ten operators.

The two wallets people search for behave nothing alike here, and each has a guide of its own. PayPal casinos in Ontario covers all five sites and why every one of them is a sportsbook rather than a casino brand; Apple Pay casinos in Ontario lists the fourteen, the ten that never pay back to the wallet, and the cashier rule that keeps Apple Pay hidden until your second deposit.

Bank Transfers, eCheque and Online Banking

Bank transfer is the only method in the table that pays out at more sites than it accepts deposits — 15 against 12 — because several operators use it as the fallback route when nothing else on the account can receive money.

It is also the slowest and, at some operators, the only one with a fee attached. Luxury Casino and Zodiac Casino charge $50 for a direct bank transfer, rising to $100 above $3,000, while their CAD EFT and eCheque route is free and lands in two to three business days instead of six to ten. The fee is entirely avoidable, but only if you read the FAQ before choosing at the cashier, and nothing in the flow prompts you to.

Published bank transfer timings across the province run from 1 to 2 business days at PointsBet and Caesars to 6 to 10 at the Casino Rewards brands, with BetRivers at 2 to 5 and bwin and PartyCasino at 3 to 5.

The method also splits in two under one name. Our bank transfer guide lists all fifteen sites, separates a real wire from the “instant banking” services that borrow the phrase — iDebit, InstaDebit, Trustly and eCheck — and sets out the minimums, which run from C$5 to the $2,500 floor Caesars puts on a wire.

Why There Are No Crypto Casinos in Ontario

None of the 32 registered casinos accepts cryptocurrency — not one, in either direction. If you have found an Ontario-facing site advertising Bitcoin deposits, it is not registered with iGaming Ontario.

The reason is structural rather than ideological. Registered operators have to identify every player and trace the source of funds under the Registrar’s Standards, and they settle in Canadian dollars through Canadian institutions. A pseudonymous asset with a floating value does not fit that supervision, so the regulated market has not adopted it.

The practical consequence matters more than the reasoning. A site that takes crypto from an Ontario player is operating outside the provincial framework, which means no recourse to the AGCO if a payout is refused, no provincial dispute process and no supervised self-exclusion. Our guide to responsible gambling in Ontario covers what the regulated market gives you that an offshore site does not.

Minimum Deposits: From $1 to $20

Twenty-four operators publish a minimum deposit, and the spread is wider than most players expect. Thirteen of them sit at $10, which is the provincial norm.

Minimum deposit Operators
$1 Lucky Days (operator’s own claim; it publishes no per-method limits)
$5 Betano, Caesars, PointsBet, PartyCasino, Captain Cooks
$10 13 operators, including 888 Casino, BetMGM, Jackpot City, LeoVegas and Royal Panda
$20 bet365, Sports Interaction
Not published 8 operators, including Betway, BetVictor, PowerPlay and SpinAway
Minimum deposits as published by each operator. Where a figure varies by method, the lowest published figure is shown.

Betano is the most useful entry point of the group because its $5 floor applies on Interac, Apple Pay and Google Pay rather than on one obscure method, and because it publishes the per-method minimums and maximums in full — which almost nobody in this province does.

Minimum Withdrawals: The $5 Floor and the $50 Floor

This is where the province splits in two, and it is the single most consequential number on this page. Caesars will pay out from $1 and 888 Casino from $5. Seven operators will not pay you anything below $50.

Minimum withdrawal Operators
$1 Caesars Casino
C$5 PointsBet
$5 888 Casino
$10 Betano, BetRivers
C$20 LeoVegas, SlotsMagic, SpinAway, Spin Genie
$50 (and $300 by bank transfer or wire) Captain Cooks, Casino Classic, Golden Tiger, Grand Mondial, Luxury Casino, Yukon Gold, Zodiac Casino
Published minimum withdrawals. Fourteen operators publish no minimum at all, and two publish one only in foreign currency.

The seven at the bottom are the Casino Rewards brands, and the asymmetry is worth stating plainly: Captain Cooks will take a $5 deposit and requires $50 before it will pay anything back — ten times its own entry price. A small win at any of the seven is trapped until you either grow it or lose it.

At the other end, the $5 floor at 888 Casino and the $1 at Caesars are the lowest we have found in the province, and they are a genuine product difference rather than a marketing line.

How Long Payouts Actually Take

Most published timings run on two clocks, and you need both. First the operator reviews and approves the request; only then does the payment method’s own settlement time start. An operator quoting “instant Interac” is usually describing the second clock alone.

Operator Approval clock Then, by the fastest published method
BetRivers Instant for most, via automatic approval PayPal within 30 minutes
Casino Days Majority within 5 minutes Under 30 minutes once approved
PlayOJO 11 hours end to end — a specific commitment rather than a range
Betano Within 24 hours e-Cashout in minutes at banks supporting real-time payments
PointsBet One business day PayPal 30 minutes, Interac 1–2 hours
bwin About 24 hours Interac credited within 8 hours
PartyCasino 24 hours to 2 business days Visa Fast Funds up to 4 hours
Casino Rewards brands 48-hour pending, then the next business day eCheque 2–3 business days; cards 3
Timings as published by each operator. These are operator claims, not payouts we have timed ourselves.

Not every operator publishes a figure — bet365, BetMGM, Betway, DraftKings and PowerPlay publish none — and where nothing is published we do not estimate. Our comparison of the fastest casino withdrawals in Ontario takes the timings apart operator by operator.

Fees: Who Charges and Who Does Not

Most Ontario operators charge nothing to move your money in either direction, and several say so explicitly: Betano, PartyCasino, Royal Panda and bwin all publish a no-fee position on deposits and withdrawals.

The exceptions are worth knowing before you deposit rather than after:

  1. Direct bank transfer at Luxury Casino and Zodiac Casino — $50, rising to $100 above $3,000. Their CAD EFT route is free.
  2. Inactivity charges — SlotsMagic and Spin Genie charge C$5 a month after six months without a login. SpinAway charges CA$5 a month from the thirteenth month and closes the account after 30. PartyCasino states it may withhold the balance of an account inactive for 18 consecutive months.
  3. Your own bank — a credit card gambling transaction treated as a cash advance carries the issuer’s fee, whatever the casino’s policy.

The inactivity clauses are the ones that quietly cost people money. If you are stepping away from an account, withdraw the balance rather than leaving it to be charged down.

The Closed Loop: You Withdraw to What You Deposited With

Almost every registered operator requires your winnings to return by the route your money arrived, and to a method verified in your own name. Third-party payments are refused across the market — the money goes back to the account holder, not to a spouse’s card.

Betano publishes this as an explicit map of which deposit method pays out to which withdrawal method, which is more helpful than the vague policy most operators offer. The consequence is the same everywhere: your deposit choice fixes your withdrawal choice, and a large win funded through several methods will come back split across them rather than as one payment.

Why Your First Withdrawal Is the Slow One

The most common cause of a delayed payout in Ontario is not the payment method — it is identity verification. Registered operators must confirm who you are before releasing funds, and a name or address that does not match your ID stalls the request until you send a document.

Several operators add a further wait for a method’s first use: Luxury Casino and Zodiac Casino publish 5 to 7 extra business days for a first payout on a new route. Spin Genie triggers additional verification on any win of C$5,000 or more.

Upload your ID the day you register, not the day you cash out. It costs five minutes then and saves days later, and it is the single most effective thing you can do about payout speed.

The Reversible Withdrawal Window

At several operators a requested withdrawal stays cancellable until it is dispatched, and the money can be pulled back into the balance and played. The seven Casino Rewards brands publish a 48-hour pending period that works this way, with written instructions for reversing it. 888 Casino keeps a withdrawal cancellable for the first business day. PartyCasino displays any pending withdrawal on the deposit screen for you to reclaim.

It is presented as a convenience, and it is worth naming for what it also is: the mechanism most likely to turn a completed decision to stop into an open one, for as long as the review takes.

Jackpot City is the operator that moved the other way — it has removed the 48-hour reversal window in Ontario, and funds are released once approved. If you mean to keep a withdrawal, request it and log out.

How We Compiled This

Every figure on this page comes from something the operator publishes about itself: an Ontario help centre, a site footer, the terms of use, a banking page or the cashier screenshots operators put in their own app store listings. We read all 32 registered sites and recorded what each one states, method by method.

Where an operator publishes nothing, the entry reads “not published” rather than being filled from an affiliate summary or from a sister site in another market — a distinction that matters more than it sounds, because several operators’ help centres describe a different company. Royal Panda’s payment article lists eight methods, none of which appear in its Ontario cashier, and closes by naming a European regulator. LeoVegas publishes a Canadian page stating that Interac is deposit-only and that the major Canadian banks refuse its transfers; its own Ontario cashier shows an Interac e-Transfer withdrawal being confirmed. When an operator’s pages disagree, we go with the one written for this province and say which it was.

We have not held accounts at all 32 operators and we do not present operator claims as timings we measured. Where a number is the operator’s, this page says so. The full method is set out in how we review Ontario casinos.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the most widely accepted payment method at Ontario casinos?

Interac, by a distance. It is accepted for deposits at 26 of the 32 registered casinos and pays out at 21. No other method reaches half the market in both directions.

Can I use cryptocurrency at an Ontario casino?

No. None of the 32 casinos registered with iGaming Ontario accepts cryptocurrency in either direction. A site offering Bitcoin to Ontario players is operating outside the provincial framework, with no recourse to the AGCO.

What is the lowest minimum withdrawal in Ontario?

Caesars Casino publishes a $1 minimum for digital withdrawals and 888 Casino a $5 minimum. At the other end, seven operators require $50, rising to $300 by bank transfer.

Why can’t I withdraw with the method I deposited with?

Prepaid vouchers such as Paysafecard, NeoSurf and Flexepin have no account to receive a payment, and Apple Pay and Google Pay are card wrappers rather than accounts. All five take deposits at Ontario casinos and none pays withdrawals.

Do Ontario casinos charge fees on deposits or withdrawals?

Most charge nothing, and several state so explicitly. The notable exception is direct bank transfer at Luxury Casino and Zodiac Casino, at $50 and $100 above $3,000. Separately, some operators charge monthly inactivity fees on dormant accounts.

How long does a first withdrawal take?

Longer than the ones after it, because identity verification runs before the first payout is released. Some operators add 5 to 7 business days for the first use of a new method. Uploading ID at registration removes most of that delay.

Does an Ontario casino pay out to someone else’s bank account?

No. Third-party withdrawals are refused across the regulated market. Funds return to a method verified in the account holder’s own name, which is a condition of the operator’s registration rather than a site policy.

Eligible iGames conducted and managed by iGO are only available to those physically present in the Province of Ontario
