Is Spin Genie Legal in Ontario?

Yes. Spin Genie is authorised to operate in the province. The operator appears in the iGaming Ontario register as Skill On Net Ltd., approved for Casino only — there is no sportsbook here — with the listed address spingenie.ca, which forwards to on.spingenie.ca.

That register currently shows 48 operators and 83 gaming websites, accurate as of August 6, 2026. Skill On Net accounts for four of those websites, which is the single most useful fact on this page and the one we come back to further down.

The site’s own terms put it in one sentence: this site “is operated by SkillOnNet Ltd, Office 1/5297 Level G, Quantum House, 75, Abate Rigord Street, Ta’ Xbiex, XBX 1120, Malta, under an AGCO Internet Gaming license and pursuant to an agreement with iGaming Ontario.” On a registered site your account, your balance and any dispute you raise sit with an Ontario regulator. On a grey-market site they do not.

You must be 19 or older and physically inside Ontario to play. The terms are unambiguous about it — “You must be at least 19 years of age to use the services offered via our Site” — and unlike some operators in this market, every page we read said 19 and only 19. The currency is CAD and the platform checks your location before it lets you bet.

Who Actually Runs Spin Genie

Spin Genie is a brand, not a company. The company is SkillOnNet, and the review below makes more sense once you know what that means.

By the operator’s own account, SkillOnNet was founded in 2005 in Cyprus and now runs casino brands across several regulated markets. The paperwork places it in two countries at once, which is worth noting rather than worrying about: the Ontario terms give a Malta address, while the UK Gambling Commission’s public register lists the same licensee’s head office in Limassol, Cyprus. Both are the same company.

The Ontario site itself launched in 2022, in the first year of the regulated market. The genie mascot you see across the lobby arrived in a 2025 rebrand that also runs in the UK and Spain.

Four addresses are worth separating before you sign up.

Four Casinos, One Risk Score

Here is the thing the marketing does not tell you. In Ontario, Skill On Net does not run one casino. It runs four: Spin Genie, PlayOJO, SlotsMagic and Knightslots, all four registered to the same legal entity and all four listed as Casino-only in the iGO register.

That matters for your money in a specific, checkable way, and the operator documents it itself.

The company pools what it knows about you. Spin Genie’s responsible gaming page describes SafeMate, a tool that scores how risky your play is and compares you to similar players. Read the small print and it says this: “If you play with other casinos operated by SkillOnNet, the information shown within SafeMate will be a combination of all play on those accounts.” Four brands, one picture of your gambling.

Your protections do not travel the same way. The same pages are equally clear in the other direction. A self-exclusion “will only affect the account you exclude.” Loss limits are set per wallet, and the terms hand the job to you: “Should you have other wallets on Our license, it is Your responsibility to apply Loss Limits on all wallets that you require them on.”

So the risk score follows you across four casinos and your limits do not. If you want one decision to cover every regulated site in the province, the tool that actually does that is BetGuard, run by iGaming Ontario rather than by the operator.

The same one-house-many-shopfronts logic shows up in the lobby, in a place you would not expect. Spin Genie’s app listing promotes Buffalo Blitz III as “a Playtech exclusive at Spin Genie Ontario,” and the lobby carries a shelf of thirteen exclusive slots.

We opened all thirteen and read the availability field the site publishes for each one. Not a single one is exclusive to Ontario. Ten of the thirteen — Buffalo Blitz III included — are listed as live on six SkillOnNet builds at once, including the UK and Spain. The narrowest of them, Enchanted Prince, still runs on three. None of them is limited to the Ontario skin.

The clearest tell sits on the same shelf. One of Spin Genie’s exclusives is called OJO Goal Goal Goal Cash Collect — a Playtech title carrying the branding of PlayOJO, the sister casino down the corridor. The shelf beside it also holds the unbranded Goal Goal Goal Cash Collect. The same game, twice, wearing two of the company’s logos.

What it means for you: treat “exclusive” here as exclusive to the company, not to this casino, and set your limits separately on every SkillOnNet site you open an account with.

Spin Genie Ontario Casino Games

This is the strongest part of the product, and unusually for this market, the operator lets you count it. Each shelf on the Ontario lobby carries its own total.

The lobby publishes Slot Games (5,538), Casino Games (453) and Live Casino Games (504). We then read the operator’s own Ontario catalogue file directly, and it returns 6,429 individual games from 77 studios for this province. The two agree: the shelf totals overlap, the catalogue counts each title once.

That makes Spin Genie one of the largest libraries in Ontario, and it is worth saying that the Ontario build is deliberately smaller than the company’s international one, which loads 9,356 slots. The province gets a filtered version, which is what a licensed market is supposed to look like.

One oddity to flag, because you will run into it: Spin Genie publishes four different game counts about itself. The site footer says “more than 2,000 casino games,” the About page says “more than 4000 games,” the app store listing says “over 3,600 slot games available in Ontario,” and the lobby says 5,538 slots. The lobby is the one that matches the catalogue. The other three are out of date.

Slots

Slots are the bulk of it — 5,538 of them, with 191 tagged as new and 214 built on the Megaways engine. The default sort puts Slingo at the front, which is a house preference rather than an accident, so scroll past the first row if you came for conventional reels.

The recognisable names are all here: Big Bass Bonanza, Starburst, Book of Dead, Sweet Bonanza, Eye of Horus, Cleopatra, Da Vinci Diamonds, Moon Princess. Each game has its own page before you play, and those pages carry real numbers — studio, reels, paylines, volatility, minimum and maximum bet. Buffalo Blitz III, for example, publishes 6 reels, 14,400 ways, medium-high volatility and a 0.10 minimum.

Where to start: open the game page before the game. It is the only place the volatility and the bet range are stated in writing.

Progressive Jackpots

The jackpot section holds 133 titles, plus a separate daily jackpots group of 537 entries where the prize drops on a timer rather than growing without limit.

It is a smaller pool than the international site carries — 133 against 966 — and that gap is the licensed market at work: network jackpots that pool players across countries generally cannot be offered under a provincial licence.

Where to start: check whether a title is a true progressive or a daily drop before you play. The two behave very differently and the lobby files them separately.

Slingo and Instant Win

This is what makes Spin Genie’s lobby look different from every other Ontario casino, and it is the one shelf we would call a genuine house preference. Slingo — the bingo-and-slots hybrid — gets 54 titles, sits inside a broader instant win group of 86, and is joined by 22 scratch cards.

The line-up runs from the originals to licensed crossovers: Slingo Riches, Slingo Extreme, Slingo XXXtreme, Slingo Da Vinci Diamonds, Slingo Starburst, Slingo The Godfather, Tetris Slingo, Slingo Mine Frenzy. Most Ontario operators carry a handful of these; Spin Genie leads with them.

Where to start: Slingo Riches is the original and the plainest version of the format. Learn the grid there before trying the licensed variants, which layer extra mechanics on top.

Roulette

Software roulette is deliberately compact — 22 tables — because the depth sits on the live floor, where there are 86 roulette tables.

The RNG side covers the standards, European and French among them, which are the versions to look for: the single zero is the difference that matters, and it is stated on the table before you sit down.

Where to start: a single-zero European table in the software section, where you can take your time without a dealer waiting.

Blackjack and Table Games

The split here is dramatic and worth understanding. Software blackjack runs to 26 tables. Live blackjack runs to 354 — the single largest category on the whole live floor, and more live blackjack than most Ontario casinos carry in total.

Beyond the two headline games, a further 405 titles sit in the lobby’s “other” group — poker variants, craps, Plinko-style games, baccarat and the oddities that do not fit a category.

Where to start: the software tables if you are learning the rules, the live floor if you already know them. The house edge conversation is decided by the rule set on the table, not by which section you are in.

Live Dealer Casino

The live floor is 504 tables as the lobby counts it, and the catalogue breaks that down as 354 blackjack, 86 roulette, 77 baccarat, 134 in a general live games group and 62 game shows.

Evolution supplies the largest share of it — 336 titles across the Ontario catalogue — with Playtech, Pragmatic Play, Ezugi and Authentic Gaming filling in the rest. Tables are streamed, not simulated, and the minimums are shown on the tile before you join.

Where to start: a blackjack table, simply because this is where the depth is. Check the seat minimum on the tile first.

Sixty-two of them, and the front of the shelf is the Evolution catalogue that most players will recognise.

Where to start: Crazy Time if you want the format at its loudest, Mega Ball if you would rather it stayed close to bingo.

Software Providers

77 studios supply the Ontario catalogue. Counted title by title in the operator’s own file, the top of the list runs: Games Global (972), Pragmatic Play (643), Playtech (476), Play’n GO (383), Evolution (336), Red Tiger (229), Nolimit City (225), Blueprint Gaming (222), Relax Gaming (220) and Wazdan (197).

Below those, Hacksaw Gaming, NetEnt, IGT, Light & Wonder, Inspired, Stakelogic, Push Gaming, Quickspin, ELK Studios, Big Time Gaming, Thunderkick and Greentube all carry meaningful counts.

One practical gap: the site has no provider filter. There is no page that lets you browse by studio, and the URLs that would do it return 404. If you follow a particular studio, you will be searching by game name instead.

Where to start: the search box, not the menu. It is the only route to a specific studio’s catalogue on this site.

The Spin Genie App on iOS and Android

Both apps exist, both are published by Skill On Net Ltd, and both are listed as “Ontario Slot Games | SpinGenie” in the Canadian stores.

The ratings are the thing to look at, because they disagree sharply.

A 2.9 on iOS is low for an Ontario operator and it is the weakest number on this page. The Android build is actively maintained, which the update date shows.

Two things in the listings are worth correcting before you rely on them. The description promises support “via email, chat, and phone” — the phone line does exist, but not where that sentence implies (see support, below). And both stores classify the app as 18+ under their own rating systems, while the operator’s own description says “19+ only | Ontario residents only.” Ontario is 19. The store label is a platform category, not a legal age.

If the app will not let you play, the cause is almost always location services rather than the app itself. Spin Genie’s help centre has a whole section on it, covering VPN detection, location permissions on the app, and what happens on an outdated build.

How to Sign Up and Log In at Spin Genie Ontario

1. Open on.spingenie.ca and confirm it is the Ontario site. Typing spingenie.ca forwards you there. If the page you land on offers sports betting, you are on the wrong brand — Spin Genie is registered for casino only.
2. Register with the legal name, date of birth and address that match your ID. Verification is a FINTRAC-standard check and it runs before you can deposit or play, not after. A mismatch is the most common reason an account stalls.
3. Confirm you are 19 or older and inside Ontario. Location is checked at login. Turn location services on for the app or the browser before you start, and turn any VPN off.
4. Set your deposit, loss and login-time limits before you fund the account. All three live in My Account > Settings. Lowering a limit takes effect immediately; raising or removing one carries a 24-hour cooling-off period, so the useful time to set them is now.
5. Deposit at least C$10 from a payment method in your own name. That is the stated minimum, and the site runs a closed-loop process: withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with wherever that method supports it.

Your account exists in a pre-activated state until verification clears. You can set limits and self-exclude in that state, but you cannot play — which is a sensible order to do things in anyway.

The minimum deposit is C$10. On the minimum withdrawal the operator’s own documents pull in two directions, so here is both: the terms set it at C$20 “unless otherwise stated in the relevant casino pages of the Site,” and the payment pages state exactly that otherwise, saying there is no minimum withdrawal amount on Interac, Visa, Mastercard and MuchBetter. The payment pages are the more specific document, and the terms defer to them — but if a C$20 floor appears at the cashier, that is where it came from.

On speed, the terms say the operator aims “to process all withdrawals within a few hours.” Two things extend that: a win of C$5,000 or more triggers additional verification, and the maximum any single transaction can carry is C$50,000. Requests have to be made on the withdrawal page — the terms explicitly refuse withdrawal requests sent by email or phone.

One charge to know about. If you do not access your account for six consecutive months, it is treated as inactive and the operator reserves the right to charge C$5 per month until you log in again, deducted from the remaining balance. After 48 months without a login the account becomes dormant and needs a reactivation process. Logging in once every few months is enough to avoid both.

Spin Genie Ontario Customer Support

All three channels exist, which is more than several Ontario operators manage. Finding them is the harder part.

Live chat runs 24/7, but only after you log in — there is no chat window for prospective players. Email is contact.ontario@spingenie.ca on the contact page. And there is a phone line, +1 343 303 5151, which the operator publishes on its responsible gaming page and nowhere else — not on the contact page, not in the footer.

That scattering is the criticism. The contact page and the terms give two different email addresses, and the phone number is filed under responsible gambling rather than support. Everything is published; nothing is published where you would look for it.

Complaints have a stated clock, which is better practice than most. The terms commit to acknowledging a complaint within one business day and addressing it within a maximum of 72 hours. One number to read correctly: 1-866-531-2600 appears in the app listing. That is ConnexOntario, the province’s free help line for gambling, mental health and addiction. It is not Spin Genie’s support desk.

Is Spin Genie Safe? Licence and Record

On the province’s own measures, yes. Spin Genie holds an AGCO Internet Gaming licence and operates under an agreement with iGaming Ontario, its games run on tested random number generators, and the AGCO can order the operator to deactivate a player account at any time — a power the terms acknowledge in writing.

We found no AGCO monetary penalty against Skill On Net, Spin Genie, PlayOJO, SlotsMagic or Knightslots. Five searches, by brand, by legal entity and by group, against the regulator’s published notices. In a market where several of the largest operators have been fined, a clean provincial record is a real point in this casino’s favour.

There is one regulatory finding on the company’s file, and it belongs to a different regulator in a different country. On 23 May 2023 the UK Gambling Commission announced that Skill On Net Limited would pay £305,150 following an investigation that “revealed social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures.” The company runs around 50 websites under its UK licence, and all of the money was directed to socially responsible causes.

That action has no bearing on the Ontario licence, was taken by another regulator under another jurisdiction’s rules, and predates the period we could examine here. We include it because it is the same legal entity, and because the failings named — social responsibility — sit in exactly the area the SafeMate tool above is designed to cover. Read it as context for how the company has been supervised elsewhere, not as a warning about the Ontario site.

The detail that earns Spin Genie credit is the honesty of the loss-limit explanation. Rather than a one-line definition, the site works through three days of a hypothetical account to show that a loss limit measures wagers minus payouts, not deposits — which is the part players most often get wrong.

The exclusivity claim was tested one game at a time.
