Captain Cooks Casino Ontario Review
Captain Cooks Casino Ontario is operated by Apollo Entertainment Ltd, one of seven casino sites the same company runs in this province — alongside Casino Classic, Golden Tiger, Grand Mondial, Luxury Casino, Yukon Gold and Zodiac. They are not related brands. They are one machine with seven front doors: the home page grids here are identical to two of the sisters, tile for tile and in the same order, and the jackpot feed answers with the same numbers to the cent on all seven domains.
What Captain Cooks has of its own is a $5 deposit floor, the lowest of the group, and a 1,632-game lobby that is, game for game, the same as its sisters’ — with none of the Moolah jackpots the group’s ticker reports.
Its licence number appears in two versions — OPIG1246857 on the App Store creative and OPIG1246860, Golden Tiger’s number, on the Google Play one. The AGCO fined this operator C$100,000 in 2023 over responsible gambling failures.

Is Captain Cooks Casino Legal in Ontario?
Yes. Captain Cooks appears in the iGaming Ontario register of regulated sites under the operator Apollo Entertainment Ltd, listed for casino only, and the operator’s Ontario terms state that it “is regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and operates under an Internet Gaming Operator licence issued by the AGCO”.
Which licence, though, depends on where you look — and this is the one finding on this page that a player should act on. The site publishes no number at all. The App Store creative prints OPIG1246857 under the iGaming Ontario mark. The Google Play creative for the same app prints OPIG1246860, which is the number Golden Tiger publishes for itself. We read all of these at full resolution, one by one, and the pattern holds across the group: Grand Mondial has the same mismatch, and Casino Classic does not.
| Registered operator | Apollo Entertainment Ltd, Villa Seminia, Ta’ Xbiex, Malta |
| Licence on the App Store creative | OPIG1246857 |
| Licence on the Google Play creative | OPIG1246860 — Golden Tiger’s number |
| Licence on the site | Not published anywhere |
| Ontario address | ontario.captaincooks.casino |
| Offerings on the register | Casino only — no sportsbook, no poker, no bingo |
| Sister sites in Ontario | Six: Casino Classic, Golden Tiger, Grand Mondial, Luxury Casino, Yukon Gold and Zodiac |
| Minimum age | 19, with wagering restricted to players physically in Ontario |
The address matters too. The Ontario casino is ontario.captaincooks.casino; the bare captaincooks.casino is the international site and your Ontario account does not exist there. The Ontario terms themselves end by asking you to agree to conditions “on captaincooks.casino” — the international address, in the provincial document.
Who Actually Runs Captain Cooks Casino in Ontario

Apollo Entertainment Ltd is a Malta company and the licence holder for seven casino sites in this province, all on the ontario.[brand].casino pattern. Behind the brands sits Casino Rewards, whose helpdesk address every one of them uses and whose in-house games fill their lobbies.
The terms are unusually clear about what this means for you. An account on any Apollo brand in Ontario is a sub-account: “upon creation of a Player’s initial account on any casino brand managed by Apollo, a Player will be immediately assigned a player specific ‘Global Account’”, and “all activity on a Player’s Sub-accounts will be monitored and managed via their Global Account”.
The consequence is the best thing about this network and nobody advertises it: a deposit limit you set at Captain Cooks follows you to the other six sites. At most groups it would not.
The harder fact sits in the same file. On 10 August 2023 the AGCO issued Apollo Entertainment Ltd a Notice of Monetary Penalty of C$100,000 over the responsible gambling provisions of the Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming. The published allegations were “failing to conduct required interventions with players who may be experiencing gambling related harms”, “failing to implement an adequate voluntary self-exclusion program” and “failing to ensure their employees understood the importance of responsible gambling”. The regulator cited a player who lost more than two million dollars in under four months without intervention. The penalty was issued to the entity, so it covers all seven brands.
The Same Lobby, Byte for Byte

Most casino groups share a platform and dress the shop windows differently. This one does not bother.
The Captain Cooks home page carries four grids of twelve games each — Most Popular Games, New Releases, Exclusive & Early Access and Live Casino. We pulled the same four grids from Golden Tiger and Casino Classic on the same day and compared them. They are identical: the same 48 tiles, in the same four sections, in the same order, drawn from the same Casino Rewards CDN. Not similar. The same list.
The jackpot feed says the same thing more precisely. Sent to all seven Apollo domains inside the same second on 27 August 2026 at 10:22 UTC, the operator’s own ticker returned identical figures on every one, to the cent: a Mega pool of CA$13,719,280.15 and a total across all progressives of CA$84,289,227.85.
| Games in the four home grids | 48 tiles, 41 distinct titles — identical to Golden Tiger and Casino Classic |
| Live Casino grid | 12 tables, all Pragmatic Play, identical to the sister sites |
| Jackpot feed | Identical to the cent across all seven Apollo domains |
| Helpdesk | Shared — support@crhelpdesk.com for all seven |
| What is genuinely its own | The licence number, the app rating, and a $5 deposit floor |
In October we went further and read the Ontario lobby itself, from a Toronto connection. It holds 1,632 games, and they are the same 1,632 — game for game — as the Ontario lobbies of Zodiac, Luxury Casino and Grand Mondial. So the useful question is not what Captain Cooks offers that Zodiac does not. It is which of the seven front doors documents itself best — and on that measure this one is near the bottom, because /en/cashier/, /en/faq/ and /en/games/ all return 404.
Captain Cooks Casino Ontario Casino Games
Every “See more games” button on the site leads to registration, but the lobby behind it can be read from inside the province. In October 2026 it held 1,632 games: 1,244 slots, 210 live tables, 80 table games, 21 video poker titles and 77 in a Variety category. What follows uses that count and the home page grids.
Slots

The four grids hold 48 positions and 41 distinct games, because several titles are repeated across sections. Amazing Builder Dragons appears in three of the four; Fortunes of the Sun God, Baphomet Wild Surge, Reels Avenue Link&Win, Raging Gods: Olympus II and Mining Pots of Gold each appear in two. The tiles carry no alt text and no captions, so the titles are only recoverable from the CDN filenames behind them. We counted the whole provincial slot catalogue, studio by studio, in our guide to online slots in Ontario.
The Casino Rewards Originals

The “Exclusive & Early Access” grid is the part of the catalogue that belongs to the group rather than to any brand. Six of its twelve tiles are in-house: Rewards City, Casino Rewards VIP, Casino Rewards Gold Blitz Ultimate, Casino Rewards Hyperstar, Rising Casino Rewards and Hyper Strike CR. A seventh, Casino Rewards 25 Years, sits in the Most Popular grid. These are the closest thing to an exclusive here — and they are exclusive to all seven sisters at once.
Progressive Jackpots
Captain Cooks does not name Mega Moolah anywhere on its Ontario pages, and in Ontario that turns out to be accurate. In August we reported the operator’s jackpot feed — a Mega pool of CA$13,719,280.15 shared by six Moolah titles, plus Gold Factory Jackpots, Major Millions, Treasure Nile and Cash Splash — as if those games were on offer here. They are not. Read from Toronto in October, the Ontario lobby has no progressives category, and not one of its 1,632 games carries a jackpot flag. The sister sites that do show the Moolah titles print the reason underneath them: “Not available in all regions.”
If a provincial jackpot pool is the point, the Maple Moolah and King Millions networks run at other operators — our Jackpot City review covers one.
Live Dealer Casino

Captain Cooks has a live floor, and this needs saying plainly because the opposite has been published about it before. The home page shows twelve live tiles — Blackjack 144 Gold, Baccarat 3, Fortune Roulette, Mega Wheel, Mega Sic Bo, Boom City, Andar Bahar, Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, Dice City, 24D Spin and others. The Ontario lobby behind them holds 210 tables, and every one is Pragmatic Play Live — around a hundred of them blackjack. No Evolution, no Playtech, no in-house tables. For which baccarat bet actually pays, see our guide to online baccarat in Ontario.
Roulette and Table Games
Away from the Pragmatic live tables, the operator publishes nothing about its RNG table games: no count, no variant list, no table limits and no house-edge figures. We counted the provincial roulette shelf by wheel type in our guide to online roulette in Ontario.
The Highest Win Rate Guarantee
Captain Cooks runs a page for a claim the group makes under three different names — here the “Highest Win Rate Guarantee”, at Golden Tiger the “RTP Guarantee”, at Casino Classic the “Best Odds Guarantee”. The substance is the same: providers ship the same game at several return-to-player settings, and this group says it always takes the highest, “typically ranging between 96% and 99.9%”. It is a genuinely candid description of how the industry works. It is also unverifiable here: no table, no per-game figure, no third-party report, and a footer disclaimer stating it “is not a warranty or promise of specific player outcomes”.
Video Poker and Instant Games
One video poker title is visible on the home page — Jacks or Better Draw Poker, from Pragmatic. The lobby holds 21, most of them multi-hand Power Poker versions: All Aces, Deuces Wild, Double Double Bonus, Jacks or Better. No pay tables are published outside the games.
Software Providers
No provider is named in text on any page of the Ontario site. The lobby’s own data gives up what the operator will not: two supply routes, the Games Global platform with 1,152 titles and Pragmatic Play with 480, the whole live floor among them, plus a block of Casino Rewards’ own exclusives. For a site that publishes a return-to-player promise, declining to name the studios supplying those returns is a strange place to stop.
The Captain Cooks Casino App

The apps are the best-documented part of this operation, because the stores compel it.
| iOS | Captain Cooks Casino Ontario, bundle ontario.captaincooks.casino, version 3.3.0, updated 21 September 2026, 41 MB, rated 4.55 from 556 ratings, 17+, requires iOS 16.0 |
| Android | Package ontario.captaincooks.casino, updated 17 September 2026, released 26 August 2025, rated 4.35 from 202 ratings, 10,000+ installs |
| Publisher | Apollo Entertainment Ltd on both stores |
| Licence on the creative | OPIG1246857 on Apple, OPIG1246860 on Google — two different numbers for one app (read in August) |
| Age rating | 17+ on Apple, “Adults only 18+” on Google, 19+ in the description. Ontario’s legal age is 19 |
In August that Google Play score was 4.2, the lowest of the seven Apollo apps. By October it had risen to 4.35, and Golden Tiger, at 4.32, had taken the bottom place; Casino Classic and Grand Mondial lead at 4.54. On identical software — the lobbies match game for game — the ratings are the only number in this review where the seven brands genuinely differ.
The developer contact Google publishes for Apollo is an Australian mobile number. It is not a support line and no player should treat it as one; there is no telephone support at this casino.
Read the score with the count in view: a 4.55 from a few hundred ratings is not the same claim as a 4.5 from twenty thousand. Our Ontario casino app comparison shows both figures for every app.
How to Sign Up and Log In at Captain Cooks Casino Ontario
The flow is the same across all seven brands, and it opens a Global Account whether you notice or not.
- Confirm you are on the Ontario site. The address must read
ontario.captaincooks.casino. The version without the Ontario prefix is the international operation, and an Ontario account does not exist there. - Press Register, top right. There is no separate sign-up page — every “Play Now” and “See more games” button on the site leads to the same form.
- Enter your details and prove your age and address. You must be 19 or over and physically in Ontario. Identity is verified before you can withdraw, so use the name that matches your bank account.
- Set your deposit and loss limits before you fund the account. Do this first. The limits attach to your Global Account and cover all seven Apollo brands at once; reductions apply immediately, increases wait 24 hours.
- Fund the account. The terms set a $5 minimum deposit here — the lowest of the group, where the sisters ask $10. Which methods are accepted is not published on this site.
One inconsistency to expect on the way in: the front page advertises entry “for just $5” and the small print two lines below it reads “Deposit between $10-$500”. Both sentences are on the same page. The terms and the Google Play listing both say $5.
Captain Cooks Casino Payments in Ontario

There is no cashier page. /en/cashier/ and /en/faq/ return 404, and no page on the Ontario site lists a payment method, a fee or a processing time.
| Minimum deposit | $5 — the lowest of the seven Apollo brands |
| Minimum withdrawal | $50 under the terms |
| Weekly payout ceiling | $4,000 a week for wins “substantially greater” than lifetime deposits across all Casino Rewards casinos, at the operator’s discretion |
| Methods | Not published in text. The only indication is an animated strip of logos in the footer |
| Fees and timings | Not published |
| Reversing a withdrawal | Not published — the sister site Zodiac documents a 48-hour reversible window; Captain Cooks says nothing |
| Currency | Never named. Figures appear as “$” with no qualifier |
The $5 deposit floor is a real advantage and the cheapest entry into this network. It sits, awkwardly, above a $50 withdrawal floor: the operator will take ten dollars less than its sisters to let you in, and asks ten times your minimum deposit before it will pay you out.
One more thing worth reading before you deposit. The card-network limits in the terms are published in euros and US dollars, with Canadian figures as approximations — and the conversion has been applied to the wrong column. The terms read “One-Day: 30/50,000.00 USD (approximately 41/68,000 CAD)”. The 30 is a count of transactions, not an amount, and it has been exchanged into 41. The error repeats three times, in both the English and French versions.
Captain Cooks Casino Customer Support

Two channels, and a third that the operator’s own pages describe but do not have.
support@crhelpdesk.com — the shared Casino Rewards desk, answering for all seven Ontario brands and the international sites |
|
| Live chat | Yes, reached from the contact page and from inside the casino |
| Telephone | None published on any page of the Ontario site |
| Complaints | The terms cite a “Customer Care Dispute Resolution Policy” that is never published |
The email address is not published as text: it is drawn as an image, so it cannot be copied, cannot be read by a screen reader and will not be found by searching the page. The contact page is also orphaned — it is not linked from any menu or footer. The support icons on this review reflect what is genuinely reachable rather than what is advertised.
The telephone gap is not a nitpick. The group’s own FAQ text describes a “24 hour 7 days per week call center to handle all email and telephone queries”, and then gives an email address. A player in difficulty reads “call center” and goes looking for a number that does not exist.
Is Captain Cooks Casino Safe? Licence, Ownership and History

The structural protections are real. Captain Cooks operates under an AGCO Internet Gaming Operator licence and an agreement with iGaming Ontario, which means funds are handled under the Registrar’s Standards and a dispute can be escalated to the regulator. The privacy policy is written against the correct Ontario instruments.
Four things temper that.
First, the C$100,000 penalty the AGCO issued to this operator in August 2023 over responsible gambling failures.
Second, the licence number is inconsistent across the operator’s own channels. The Google Play creative shows a number belonging to a sister brand. On any other page this would be a typo; on a licence identifier it is the one field a player is told to check.
Third, the documentation is stale in ways that give away the copy-paste. The English terms refer to “the individual registered on the Zodiac Casino account” in a clause about voiding winnings — the French version has the right brand, so only the English was left wrong. Promotional terms still tie eligibility to wagers “on the Captain Cooks Casino software download”, though the download link now opens a web registration form. The responsible gambling page recommends CyberPatrol, discontinued years ago, and Cybersitter, whose domain now redirects elsewhere, and sends Ontario players to the British BeGambleAware for its self-assessment test, though it now links ConnexOntario too. The legal pages are timestamped in a +1100 zone.
Fourth, the terms consent, on your behalf, to your gameplay being used to train AI: “Player consents to the casino’s use, processing, and analysis of all Player Data (including but not limited to gameplay data, behavioural patterns, performance metrics, user interactions, and any content submitted by Player) for artificial intelligence training, machine learning model development, and related research purposes.” The next sentence promises to seek consent “where required by law”, directly beneath a sentence stating that consent has been given. The clause appears in all seven brands’ terms.
The eCOGRA seal in the footer certifies the international domain, not the Ontario one. None of this makes the casino unsafe to use; it does mean the operator’s own documentation is not a reliable guide to its own product.
Responsible Gambling in Ontario
The tools are good and the page that should explain them is pointed at the wrong country.
| Limits | Deposit, loss and logged-in time, each daily, weekly or monthly. Increases take 24 hours; reductions are immediate |
| Across brands | Settings attach to your Global Account and cover all seven Apollo sites in Ontario |
| Take a Break | 24 hours up to 3 months |
| Self-exclusion | 6 months, or 1 to 5 years — irreversible once applied |
| BetGuard | The province-wide self-exclusion run by iGaming Ontario, covering every registered site, at betguard.ca — support line 1-833-776-7171 |
| ConnexOntario | 1-866-531-2600, free, 24 hours |
The cross-brand limit is the standout, and after a penalty for exactly this category of failure it is the thing the operator most needed to get right. It did.
What it did not get right is the signposting. The self-assessment test on this page sends an Ontario player to a British charity — ConnexOntario is linked a line below, which is an improvement since August — the recommended filtering tools no longer exist, and the instructions tell you to set limits “in the casino software” — software that was retired. Meanwhile a self-exclusion here cannot be undone, while the group publishes instructions for undoing a withdrawal.
Captain Cooks Casino vs Other Ontario Casinos
Captain Cooks is the cheapest way into the Apollo network and the least documented once you are inside it.
| Pick Captain Cooks if | You want the shared Apollo lobby at the lowest deposit floor of the seven, and limits that carry across every brand |
| Pick Zodiac if | You want the same machine from a site that publishes its cashier rules in full |
| Pick 888 Casino if | You want a counted catalogue, published volatility and a verified phone line |
| Pick BetMGM or Jackpot City if | A progressive jackpot you can actually play in Ontario is the point |
Against the field, the $50 withdrawal floor is an outlier in a province where several operators pay from $5 — and it is a particularly odd one here, on the brand that lets you in for five.
How We Reviewed Captain Cooks Ontario
Everything here is traceable to the operator, the regulator or a public app store.
The registration, the sister-site list and the Ontario address come from the iGaming Ontario register, filtered to Apollo Entertainment Ltd. The two licence numbers were read from the operator’s own store creatives at full resolution, and cross-checked against the creatives of four sister brands — which is how we can say that the number on Google Play belongs to Golden Tiger rather than to this casino. The jackpot figures come from the live ticker the site itself runs, queried across all seven Apollo domains within the same second on 27 August 2026. The lobby comparison was made by extracting the CDN filenames behind the home page grids of three sister sites and comparing the lists position by position; in October we confirmed it on the full Ontario lobby, read from a Toronto connection, which is also where the game count, the live floor and the absence of every progressive come from. The app figures come from the Canadian storefronts on the same day. The penalty is published by the AGCO.
Where the operator does not publish a number — the payment methods, the fees, the table list — this page says so rather than borrowing one from a sister site. And where the operator’s own channels contradict each other, both versions are shown, because which one you believe is the most useful thing to know about this casino.
FAQ’s – Frequently Asked Questions
- Is Captain Cooks Casino legal in Ontario?
Yes. Captain Cooks appears in the iGaming Ontario register of regulated sites under the operator Apollo Entertainment Ltd, listed for casino only, and its Ontario terms state that it is regulated by the AGCO under an Internet Gaming Operator licence. The site itself publishes no licence number. The App Store creative shows OPIG1246857 and the Google Play creative shows OPIG1246860 — which is Golden Tiger’s number. Make sure you are on ontario.captaincooks.casino; the address without the Ontario prefix is the international site, where your Ontario account does not exist.
- Does Captain Cooks Casino have live dealer games?
Yes. The Ontario lobby, read from Toronto in October 2026, holds 210 live tables, every one from Pragmatic Play — around a hundred blackjack tables, plus Baccarat, Fortune Roulette, Mega Wheel, Mega Sic Bo, Boom City, Andar Bahar, Sweet Bonanza CandyLand and Dice City. No Evolution tables, no Playtech, and nothing built in house. This is worth stating clearly because Captain Cooks has previously been described as having no live casino, including on this site. It has one, and it is identical to the live floor at its sister sites.
- What is the minimum deposit at Captain Cooks Casino Ontario?
$5, the lowest of the seven Apollo brands in Ontario, where the sisters ask $10. The figure is confirmed in the terms and on the Google Play listing. Be aware that the front page contradicts itself on this point: the banner advertises entry “for just $5” and the small print two lines below reads “Deposit between $10-$500”. The withdrawal side is less generous — the terms set a $50 minimum withdrawal and reserve a $4,000 weekly ceiling for players whose winnings are substantially greater than their lifetime deposits.
- Is Captain Cooks the same as Golden Tiger and Zodiac?
Effectively, yes. Apollo Entertainment Ltd runs seven casino sites in Ontario and they share one platform, one lobby and one helpdesk. We compared the four game grids on the Captain Cooks home page with those on Golden Tiger and Casino Classic: they are identical — the same 48 tiles, in the same sections, in the same order. We then queried the operator’s live jackpot feed on all seven domains within the same second on 27 August 2026, and every site returned the same figures to the cent. In October we read the full Ontario lobby: Captain Cooks holds the same 1,632 games as Zodiac, Luxury Casino and Grand Mondial, and no progressive jackpot among them. What genuinely differs between them is the licence number, the app rating and the deposit floor.
- Does Captain Cooks Casino Ontario have a phone number?
No. There is no telephone number for player support on any page of the Ontario site. The published channels are live chat and email at
support@crhelpdesk.com, the shared Casino Rewards desk that answers for all seven Apollo brands. The address is drawn as an image rather than written as text, so it cannot be copied or read by a screen reader, and the contact page is not linked from any menu. The Australian number Google lists for the developer is not a support line. For gambling harm, ConnexOntario is free and answers 24 hours at 1-866-531-2600.

Captain Cooks is the cheapest door into the Apollo network, and that is a real thing to offer. A $5 minimum deposit is the lowest of the seven sister sites, the lobby behind it is the group’s full 1,632 games, read from inside Ontario — though none of the Moolah jackpots the group’s feed reports is among them — and the group does one thing better than most of this province: the deposit and loss limits you set here apply to all seven Apollo brands at once. It also has a live floor of 210 Pragmatic Play tables, which is worth stating because the opposite has been published about this casino before.
Everything else argues for one of its sisters. There is no cashier page, no published payment method, no fee schedule, no processing time and no statement of whether a withdrawal can be reversed — while Zodiac, on identical software, publishes all of it. The $5 entry sits above a $50 withdrawal floor and a $4,000 weekly ceiling on large wins. The English terms still name Zodiac Casino in a clause about voiding winnings, the responsible gambling page recommends filtering software that no longer exists and sends Ontario players to a British charity, and the terms consent on your behalf to your gameplay being used for AI training. Its Google Play creative prints a sister brand’s licence number.
If the five-dollar floor is why you are here, it is genuine and the cross-brand limits are a real protection. If you want to know how you will be paid before you hand over identity documents, use Zodiac — same company, same software, and it publishes what this one hides.
