Is Bally Bet Legal in Ontario?

Yes. Bally Bet is operated in Ontario by Bally’s Canada Inc., which is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario under registration number OPIG1242339 and operates under an operating agreement with iGaming Ontario. The website is ballybet.ca, and accounts, games and the cashier live at play.ballybet.ca.

Unusually for this market, the operator is an Ontario company. Its terms describe Bally’s Canada Inc. as “a limited company registered under the laws of the Province of Ontario with company number 002808336”, with its principal place of business at 20 Duncan Street, Toronto. Most Ontario registrants are run from Malta, Gibraltar or the Channel Islands.

The footer gets the regulator’s name right — the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, not the non-existent “Ontario Gaming Commission” that several older casinos still print — and it is the same on the marketing site and on the play platform.

Who Runs Bally Bet: Bally’s Corporation and Its Platform

Bally’s Canada is part of the Bally’s Group, whose parent, Bally’s Corporation, is headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island, and runs land-based casinos across the United States. The terms say the products are “provided and operated on our behalf by the Bally’s Group, together with third party service providers”.

One trace of the group’s history is visible in Ontario: Bally’s bought the British operator Gamesys in 2021, and the old Android listing still returned by Google — com.gamesys.ballycasino — now leads to an error page; the current app is a different listing (see the app section). The iPhone app has been on the Canadian App Store since October 2022 and became the combined Bally Bet Sportsbook & Casino app in 2024.

Bally Bet is also live in Alberta, under that province’s own regulator, and its help centre covers both provinces. Everything in this review is about the Ontario site; where the help centre gives two sets of contacts, we quote the Ontario ones.

Two names are missing that Ontario players often look for. There is no Play’n GO (so no Book of Dead), and there is no Maple Moolah, the Games Global progressive network found at casinos such as Jackpot City.

Slots and jackpots

With 860 titles, slots are two-thirds of the lobby, and the mix leans American: IGT and Light & Wonder machines that Bally’s land-based customers will recognise, licensed titles such as Ghostbusters Plus, The Goonies, Ted, Yogi Bear and Deal or No Deal, and a Slingo section. The jackpot offer has two layers. Blueprint’s Jackpot Royale network covers most of the 16 games in the Jackpots tab, and since September 2026 Jackpot Flash adds four progressive tiers — Mini, Minor, Major and Mega — to selected slots through an optional side bet starting at $0.10 a spin. Around 160 RNG table games sit alongside the live floor, and video poker is stronger than at most Ontario casinos thanks to IGT: Game King, Ultimate X Ten Play and Super Times Pay in single, triple, five and ten-play versions. The same account and balance cover a sportsbook, reached from the Sports tab. It offers pre-game and in-play betting on football, hockey, basketball, baseball and soccer, same game parlays, a “Parlay Zone” for building multiples, and early cash out on eligible bets. The trading team sets wagering limits per market and per account, and the help centre says customer support cannot change them. For a casino player, the practical point is that responsible gaming limits apply across both products.

Two things to know before installing. The iPhone app needs iOS 17, a higher bar than most casino apps, so older iPhones are left with the browser. And on Android, install the listing published as com.ballyscorp.ballybetca; the older Gamesys listing that still appears in search results no longer exists. Not every game is available in the app, and some titles need a separate download inside it. On desktop, location is checked through the GeoComply plugin, which you install once. How to Sign Up and Log In at Bally Bet Ontario

1. Go to ballybet.ca or install the app. Choose Ontario when the platform asks for your province — the same site serves Alberta.
2. Enter your details. Full name, date of birth, email, address and a mobile number; you must be 19 or older.
3. Confirm your phone. A six-digit code is sent by text.
4. Verify your identity. Bally Bet may ask for a driver’s licence or ID card; documents go to verification@on.ballybet.ca or through the account. Verify your email too: it is required before a withdrawal.
5. Allow location. GeoComply checks that you are in Ontario before you play; public and work Wi-Fi are a common cause of failed checks.

Logging in

The same login works on the website and in the app, and the app supports Touch ID. Bally Bet occasionally asks for an SMS code at login as two-factor authentication, and after 15 minutes of inactivity you must sign in again before playing.

This is where Bally Bet is genuinely good. The minimum withdrawal is $10 for every method — five times lower than the $50 floor at several older Ontario casinos — and Bally Bet says withdrawals are “typically processed within 24 hours”. Add Interac Auto Deposit or a Visa or Mastercard debit card and a payout can land the same day. Credit cards cannot be withdrawn to, so a player who deposits by credit card needs Interac, a debit card or EFT to cash out; Interac withdrawals also require an earlier Interac deposit.

A withdrawal can be cancelled while it shows as Pending, and the money returns to your balance at once. The help centre itself advises against doing that “just to keep betting”. There is a gap between the marketing and the help centre. The ballybet.ca home page promises “easy-to-find email, phone, and live chat customer support options”; the help centre’s Contact Us page lists only live chat and email, and gives no number. Treat chat as the main channel — it is the one the platform sends you to from every error screen.

How to complain

Complaints go first to Bally Bet’s support team, which asks for up to 72 hours to reply. If that does not resolve it, the next step is iGaming Ontario (igaming@igamingontario.ca, 1-833-554-4263), with your name, a description and Bally Bet’s reply; regulatory concerns go to the AGCO on 1-800-522-2876. Unlike many Ontario operators, Bally Bet names no independent adjudicator such as eCOGRA between its own team and the regulator.

Is Bally Bet Safe?

The regulated basics

Yes. Bally Bet is AGCO-registered and run by an Ontario-incorporated company with a Toronto address. Location is checked by GeoComply, payments are processed with Paysafe, logins can require an SMS code, and games are supplied by the largest regulated studios in North America.

Where the paperwork falls short

The weaknesses are in text carried over from Bally’s American platform:

• The terms define a “Dormant Account” as one with no activity “for a period of one year”, then say in clause 7.4 that an account becomes dormant after “three (3) years or greater”. Funds in a dormant account are forfeited 120 days after Bally Bet tries to contact you.
• The same terms refer to “state, provincial, and federal regulatory authorities”, wording carried over from the United States.
• The help article on which cards work best lists mostly American banks — Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chase, Navy Federal Credit Union — rather than Canadian ones.
• The home page promises phone support that the help centre does not provide.

None of this affects the safety of your money, which sits with an AGCO-registered operator. It does mean the help centre, not the marketing page, is the place to check how something works.

Five Things to Check Before Your First Deposit

1. The province. Choose Ontario on the platform, and check that the footer shows Bally’s Canada Inc. and OPIG1242339.
2. How you will withdraw. Credit cards cannot be withdrawn to. Deposit with Interac or a debit card if you want the fastest route back.
