BetVictor Ontario is operated by BV (Canada) Limited and registered with the AGCO for both casino and sports betting. There is no betvictor.ca — the provincial product lives at betvictor.com/en-on, and the international site is not the one you are entitled to use here.

It is the oldest name in this market by a distance. The bookmaking business dates to the Chandler family in 1946 and has been owned outright by Michael Tabor since 2014. The product reflects it: a sportsbook first, with the casino inside it, and the operator's own headline is "Built for Sports, Enhanced by Casino".

Is BetVictor Legal in Ontario?

Yes. BetVictor appears on the iGaming Ontario register of live operators with both offerings listed — Casino and Sports Betting — and the register points to a single address for the province: betvictor.com/en-on.

That address is the first thing to understand about this brand. There is no betvictor.ca. The Ontario product lives on a path of the international domain, which means the ordinary betvictor.com you might reach from a search result is not necessarily the site you are entitled to use. The province has its own front door and it is marked en-on.

The Ontario licensee is BV (Canada) Limited, a company registered with the AGCO at a Toronto business address. You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario. The operator’s own app listing states the rule without hedging: “Must be 19+ and located in Ontario.”

Who Actually Runs BetVictor in Ontario

BetVictor Ontario app creative carrying the iGaming Ontario mark and the 19+ notice
BetVictor in Ontario is run by BV (Canada) Limited, one of three companies that carry the brand across different markets. The apps in the Canadian stores are published by BV Gaming Limited, and the international business operates through BV (Gibraltar) Limited. Three entities, one brand, and the one that matters for a player here is the Canadian company on the iGO register.

The group behind them is BV Group, privately held by Michael Tabor, the racehorse owner and businessman who bought out his partners and took full control of the company in May 2014. Before that it was Victor Chandler’s, and before that his father’s, and before that his grandfather’s.

Ontario is not the only Canadian market. BetVictor also operates in Alberta, under that province’s regulator and at 18 rather than 19. The apps serve both, and the age rule and the regulator change depending on which account you hold. If you read a BetVictor page that says 18, you are reading the Alberta one.

A 1946 Bookmaker in a 2022 Market

Most operators in Ontario’s regulated market are either American sportsbooks that arrived with the province or Maltese casino groups that repointed an existing platform. BetVictor is neither, and its age is the most distinctive thing about it.

The business traces to William Chandler, a bookmaker who owned Walthamstow Stadium in London. He died in 1946 and his sons took the book on — which is the date the company still puts on its marketing, and the date its Ontario app listing leads with. Victor Chandler junior took over in 1974 and ran it for four decades, moving it offshore and then online well ahead of its rivals. Tabor bought it in 2014.

That inheritance shows in the product. BetVictor is a sportsbook first, and the casino sits inside a sports app rather than the other way around. The Ontario creatives say so out loud: the headline on the operator’s own store listing is “Built for Sports, Enhanced by Casino“. If you want a casino that behaves like a casino, that framing is a fair warning. If you want one account for hockey and for slots, it is the point.

The Ontario chapter is short. The AGCO registration was granted on 7 June 2022 and the product launched in the province on 27 September 2022, with the iOS app arriving in the Canadian store the following month.

BetVictor Ontario Casino Games

BetVictor Ontario casino lobby with the Home, New, Vegas and Slots shelves
The operator advertises “2,000+ Favourites” on the casino banner inside its own Ontario product — the banner carries the 19+ and connexontario.ca line beneath it, so it is the provincial build rather than a figure borrowed from another market.

That is the operator’s number, and there is no independent count to set against it. BetVictor does not expose an Ontario catalogue that can be counted from outside an account. What can be described accurately is the shape of the lobby, which the operator publishes in detail, and the studios behind it, which it names in full.

The casino splits into two separate products in the navigation — Casino and Live Casino are distinct sections, not one shelf inside the other — and each has its own set of categories.

Slots

New slots in the BetVictor Ontario lobby: 4 Fantastic Fish Gold, Forbidden Temple Power Hit and Redhead Bounty
Slots are the bulk of the casino and the lobby organises them across Home, New, Vegas and Slots shelves. The New row turns over quickly and carries current releases rather than a stale set — 4 Fantastic Fish Gold, Forbidden Temple Power Hit and Redhead Bounty among them. How this shelf compares with the rest of the province is in our guide to online slots in Ontario.

BetVictor publishes no return-to-player figure in its Ontario lobby, which is the norm in this market but still a gap. The AGCO’s standards require that players be given understandable information about the odds; they do not require a percentage on every game, and almost no operator here volunteers one. PlayOJO is the exception.

Where to start: the New shelf. It is the row this operator actually maintains, and it is the fastest way to see what the floor has become rather than what it was.

The Vegas Shelf

The BetVictor Ontario casino banner and the Home, New, Vegas and Slots shelves
Vegas is a top-level category here, sitting alongside Slots rather than inside it, and its presence is a British tell. In the UK market a Vegas section is where an operator puts the Playtech-branded material — the Age of the Gods family and the licensed slots built on it — and BetVictor names Playtech first in its list of Ontario suppliers.

It is a genuine point of difference. Most Ontario lobbies are organised by mechanic: slots, jackpots, Megaways, live. A shelf organised by house style is rarer, and if you have played in the UK it will be immediately familiar.

Where to start: the Vegas row, if only because no other Ontario casino covered on this site gives it a tab of its own.

Branded Games

Featured slots at BetVictor Ontario including the branded Big Bass Splash
BetVictor runs its own badged content in Ontario, and the featured row makes it visible: BetVictor Big Bass Splash sits in the Featured shelf carrying an Exclusive tag, with the operator’s name printed across the game tile itself.

Branded games in this market are almost always re-skins — the same maths as the original with a new logo — and there is no reason to think this is different. It is worth knowing before you treat the tag as a recommendation. What the tag does tell you is that the operator has enough weight with Pragmatic Play to get its name on a Big Bass build, which is not something every Ontario licensee manages.

Where to start: play it if you like the base game. The badge is branding, not a better return.

Roulette

Featured live tables at BetVictor Ontario: Immersive Roulette Deluxe and Infinite Bet Stacker Blackjack
The featured live table in the Ontario product is Immersive Roulette Deluxe — Evolution’s flagship wheel, multi-camera, and the version most operators lead with when they have it. Which wheel you sit at decides the return before the site does — the arithmetic is in our guide to online roulette in Ontario.

Evolution is named in the operator’s own supplier list for Canada, and its presence at the top of the featured row rather than buried three shelves down suggests the live floor is built around it. Software roulette sits in the main casino section alongside the slots.

Where to start: Immersive Roulette Deluxe for the production, a single-zero software wheel if you care more about the odds than the camera work.

Blackjack and Table Games

Featured slots in the BetVictor Ontario lobby, including the branded Big Bass Splash
The operator lists blackjack, roulette, baccarat and video poker as the software table set, and the live section carries the dealt versions of all of them. The featured live blackjack in Ontario is Infinite Bet Stacker Blackjack, an unlimited-seat format where the number of players at the table does not decide whether you get a hand. How these tables compare with the rest of the province is in our guide to online blackjack in Ontario.

Baccarat has its own tab in the live navigation, sitting immediately after Home, which is unusual placement and suggests it carries more traffic here than at a typical Ontario casino. That is consistent with a book whose audience came from sports rather than slots. The three baccarat bets carry three very different prices — we set them out in our guide to online baccarat in Ontario.

Where to start: an infinite-seat blackjack table if you play at busy hours, since it removes the only real friction of a live floor.

Live Casino

BetVictor Ontario live casino with Immersive Roulette Deluxe, Infinite Bet Stacker Blackjack and the Live Jackpot shelf
Live Casino is its own product with its own navigation: Home, Baccarat, New and Exclusive. The operator’s Ontario marketing calls it “Canada’s Best Tables. All in One App.“, and describes “live-streamed dealer games and hosted live gameshows, streamed live from professional studios”.

The Exclusive tab is the interesting one, because it implies dedicated tables rather than shared ones — rooms branded to the operator rather than seats in a general studio. Several Ontario operators run dedicated tables; not all of them give them a tab.

Where to start: the Exclusive tab, to see which tables are actually the operator’s own rather than shared with every other licensee.

Live Jackpot

The Live Jackpot shelf in the BetVictor Ontario live casino
Below the featured tables sits a shelf labelled Live Jackpot — dealt tables with a progressive pot attached, rather than jackpot slots.

This is a small but real point of difference. Most Ontario lobbies keep their progressives entirely in the slots section; putting a jackpot row inside the live casino means the pot rides on blackjack and roulette hands. It is the same trade as always: the money funding the pot comes out of the base game, so a jackpot table returns less on ordinary play than a plain one.

No pot figure is published on this page. The operator does not release one for Ontario, and a number lifted from another market would describe a different pool.

Where to start: a plain table if you are playing the odds, the jackpot row only if the pot is the reason you sat down.

Software Providers

In-play NHL betting in the BetVictor Ontario app
This is the most concrete thing the operator publishes about its Canadian casino, and it names the studios in full: Playtech, Microgaming, IGT, Blueprint, Evolution, Yggdrasil, ELK Studios, Hacksaw Gaming, Relax, Quickspin, Play’n GO and Gameiom.

Twelve named suppliers is a respectable list, and the order it is given in is informative: Playtech first, which matches the Vegas shelf, and Microgaming — now Games Global — second. Yggdrasil, ELK Studios and Quickspin are the three worth noting, because they are common in European lobbies and comparatively scarce in Ontario ones. Gameiom is an aggregator rather than a studio, which means the real list is longer than twelve.

Where to start: ELK or Quickspin, for the titles this province mostly does not carry.

The BetVictor App in Ontario

There are two apps in the Canadian stores and both carry sports and casino together: BetVictor Sports Bet & Casino on iOS and the equivalent Android build.

The iOS app is 4.70 out of 5 from 4,360 ratings, which is a strong score, and it is a heavy install at roughly 251 MB requiring iOS 16 or later. It is updated frequently — the current version shipped within days of this review.

One detail in the store listing is worth a look before you judge the product by its pictures. The iPhone screenshots are genuinely Ontario: dollars in the balance, NHL markets, the Maple Leafs, an Interac withdrawal, and the iGaming Ontario mark along the bottom. The iPad screenshots in the same Canadian listing are not. They show balances in pounds sterling and odds in fractional format — 9/4, 11/10, 2/1 — which is the British product with the Ontario regulatory bar pasted underneath. The app you install is the Canadian one; the pictures of it on a tablet are not.

How to Sign Up and Log In at BetVictor Ontario

Registration follows the regulated pattern, with one step at the start that is more important here than at most brands because of how the address is built.

  1. Go to betvictor.com/en-on, not to betvictor.com. There is no betvictor.ca, and the international site is not the product you are registering for. Confirm the page carries the iGaming Ontario mark and the 19+ notice before you enter anything.
  2. Register with your legal name, date of birth and address exactly as they appear on your identification. The account is verified against those documents before a withdrawal is released, so a mismatch here is the most common cause of a delayed first payout.
  3. Confirm you are 19 or older and allow the location check. Ontario is verified at every login, not only at signup, and the app will not run without location permission granted.
  4. Make sure you are opening an Ontario account and not an Alberta one. BetVictor operates in both provinces through the same apps, and Alberta runs under a different regulator at 18. The province decides your rules, and it is fixed at registration.
  5. Set your deposit limits and activity reminders before you fund the account, then upload your identification straight away. This operator’s headline claim is instant Interac withdrawals; an unverified account is the one thing guaranteed to stop that from being true.

Logging in afterwards is an ordinary email and password affair with biometric unlock on the apps. A refused session is almost always the location check rather than the credentials.

BetVictor Payments in Ontario

Interac withdrawal completed in the BetVictor Ontario app
Payments are the loudest claim this operator makes in Canada and the one it puts on every creative: instant Interac withdrawals. The store listings repeat it three times — “lightning-fast Interac withdrawals”, “Get your cash in a flash with Interac Transfers”, “Instant Withdrawals” — and the Ontario screenshot shows the cashier mid-payout, with the Interac option described as “Instant transfers from all Canadian banks” and a completed withdrawal confirmed on screen.

Read the asterisk. Every one of those claims carries one, and the footnote is the same each time: BV Withdrawal terms apply. The operator does not publish those terms outside the account, so what is verifiable is the claim and its qualifier, not the timings behind it. Instant is the marketing; the conditions attached to it are not on public display.

Interac working in both directions is the substantive point, and it is confirmed by the operator’s own cashier screen rather than by an affiliate’s summary. In this province a casino that only takes Interac in is a casino you will wait on, and this is not one of those.

The full method list for Ontario is not published outside the account.

BetVictor Customer Support

The invite-only BetVictor VIP club screen in the Ontario app
The published contact route for the brand is email, at help@betvictor.com, which appears on the operator’s own pages. Live chat is the industry standard and is reached from inside the account.

There is no telephone number published for Ontario. That is now true of every casino covered on this site, and it is worth stating rather than implying otherwise.

The unusual part of this section is the tier above ordinary support. BetVictor runs a VIP programme in Ontario that is invite-only, described in its own words as “an exclusive, invite-only club”, with a dedicated Contact VIP Team button replacing the normal header. Most operators in this province run a loyalty scheme anyone can join by playing. This one runs a closed door with a separate support channel behind it — which is worth knowing chiefly so you understand that the service a review describes may not be the service you get.

Is BetVictor Safe? Licence, Ownership and History

BetVictor Ontario is operated by BV (Canada) Limited, registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and operating under an agreement with iGaming Ontario. It appears on the iGO register of live operators for both casino and sports betting. The operator’s own app listing states the arrangement in the same terms and adds the Alberta equivalent for that province.

The corporate history is the longest of any brand covered on this site. The bookmaking business dates to the Chandler family and takes 1946 as its founding date; Victor Chandler junior ran it from 1974 and took it offshore and online; Michael Tabor acquired full control in May 2014 and owns it privately today. Ontario has been served since September 2022.

Two caveats belong here, and neither is a safety problem.

The first is the three-company structure. BV (Canada) holds the Ontario registration, BV Gaming publishes the apps, BV (Gibraltar) runs the international business, and nothing in the player-facing material explains which is which. A player checking that an app is genuine will find a publisher name that does not match the licensee.

The second is how little this operator publishes. No RTP, no method list, no withdrawal timetable, no game count beyond a rounded marketing figure. Everything verifiable about the Ontario casino comes from the regulator’s register or from the operator’s own app store material, because the product itself is not readable without an account. That is a legitimate way to run a casino.

Responsible Gambling in Ontario

Tracy McGrady, BetVictor safer gambling ambassador, in the Ontario app store creative
The tools are the regulated set, described by the operator as letting you “set your own deposit limits, get activity reminders, take time-outs, and more”. Standard, and correctly present.

What is not standard is the campaign around them. BetVictor has appointed Tracy McGrady — Hall of Fame guard, and a Toronto Raptor for the first six years of his career — as its Safer Gambling Ambassador, and it puts him in the Ontario app store listing under the line “Set Limits. Play Safe. Stay in Control.”

It is fair to be sceptical of a gambling company using an athlete to talk about restraint. It is also fair to note that operators overwhelmingly spend their athlete budget on the opposite message, and that this one gave a marquee slot in its own store listing to the limits rather than to the odds. In a market where responsible gambling is usually a footer link, putting it in the shop window is a choice worth recording.

Ontario is 19+. If BetVictor material tells you 18, you are reading the Alberta version. Free, confidential help is available around the clock from ConnexOntario at 1-866-531-2600, a number the operator publishes in both of its Canadian store listings.

BetVictor vs Other Ontario Casinos

BetVictor is the sports-led option in this market, and it should be judged as one.

Against Betway, the closest comparison, the two are near mirrors: both sportsbook-first, both casino and sports on one account, both silent on RTP. Betway wins on published detail — a ten-method cashier listed openly, a named dispute resolution provider, a countable lobby. BetVictor wins on studio variety, with ELK, Yggdrasil and Quickspin in a list Betway does not match, and on the Interac claim, which Betway does not make.

Against PlayOJO, they are barely the same category. PlayOJO is a casino-only brand that publishes an RTP for nearly every game it runs; BetVictor is a book with a casino attached that publishes none. If the numbers behind the games matter to you, this is not a close call.

Against bet365 — the other historic European bookmaker in this province — BetVictor is the smaller operation with the older story. bet365 publishes a lobby you can read without an account. BetVictor does not.

Choose it for the sportsbook and take the casino as part of the deal. That is how the operator itself frames it, and it is the honest way round.

How We Reviewed BetVictor Ontario

Everything on this page is something you can check before you deposit, and every claim is traced to its source.

The licence, the two offerings and the Ontario address come from the iGaming Ontario register of live operators, read directly. The operating companies, the game count, the studio list, the Interac claim and its asterisk, the age rules for Ontario and Alberta, and the responsible gambling tools are all quoted from BetVictor’s own Canadian app store listings — the operator’s own published material for this market, not a third party’s description of it. The lobby structure, the shelves, the branded content and the Live Jackpot row are read from the official Ontario product screenshots the operator publishes in those listings, which carry the iGaming Ontario mark and the provincial 19+ line. The corporate history and the Ontario launch dates come from the trade press and from the company’s own account of itself.

There is no independent game total, because the operator publishes only a rounded figure and no countable Ontario catalogue — so the rounded figure is reported as what it is. There is no payment method list beyond Interac, no withdrawal timetable and no return-to-player percentage anywhere, because BetVictor publishes none of them for this province.

BetVictor is a sportsbook that happens to hold a casino licence, and the fairest way to judge it is on those terms — which are also the terms the operator sets itself, in a headline that reads "Built for Sports, Enhanced by Casino".

On that basis it is a serious proposition. The Interac claim is the loudest in the province and the cashier screen backs the important half of it: money moves both ways. The studio list the operator publishes for Canada is genuinely varied, with Yggdrasil, ELK Studios and Quickspin names Ontario mostly does not carry, and a Vegas shelf given its own tab is a structure no other casino here offers. Putting Tracy McGrady in the shop window to talk about limits, rather than about odds, is a choice worth recording in a market that usually does the reverse.

The reservation is how little of this can be checked. There is no published game count beyond a rounded marketing figure, no return-to-player figure on any game, no public payment list and no withdrawal timetable. The three companies carrying the brand — BV (Canada), BV Gaming, BV (Gibraltar) — are never explained to the player. And within the same Canadian app listing, the iPhone pictures are Ontario and the iPad pictures are the British product in pounds.

Choose it for the sportsbook and take the casino as part of the deal. If the numbers behind the games are what you care about, this is not the brand.
