Six licensed Ontario sites work as a $5 deposit casino: Betano, Caesars Palace Online, PointsBet and PartyCasino set their floor at C$5, and Betty and Lucky Days go lower still, to $1. Most other registered casinos we review start at $10, some at $20.
Two details decide whether the $5 is real for you. The first is the payment method: at Betano a $5 deposit works by Interac or Apple Pay but not by card, and at PartyCasino the only published $5 figure is for Visa. The second is the way out. Only three of the six let a $5 balance come straight back: Caesars and Betty pay out from $1 and PointsBet from $5. Betano and Lucky Days need $10 before you can withdraw.
This page covers only casinos on the iGaming Ontario register, and every figure was read for this article from the operator’s own help centre, terms, payments page or cashier, from an Ontario connection. It is the $5 companion to our guide to $1 deposit casinos in Ontario.
Every $5 deposit casino on the Ontario register
| Casino | Smallest deposit | Methods at $5 or less | Methods with a higher floor | Minimum withdrawal | Our score |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Betano | $5 | Interac, Apple Pay, Google Pay, paysafecard | Cards, Interac e-Transfer request and PayPal: $10 | $10 | 4.1 |
| Caesars Palace Online | $5 | Every digital method, Interac included ($5–$25,000) | Bank wire: $2,500 | $1 | 4.1 |
| PointsBet | $5 | Interac, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, PayPal, online banking | None published | $5 | 3.8 |
| PartyCasino | $5 | Visa | Maestro: $6.78; other methods not published | Not published | 3.6 |
| Betty | $1 | Interac, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay (in the app) | None | $1 | 4.0 |
| Lucky Days | $1 | Interac, cards, Apple Pay, MuchBetter, Neosurf | Trustly: $10 | $10, after the deposit is wagered once | 2.9 |
Read the last two money columns together. A $5 floor on the way in means little if the way out starts at $10, and the methods column matters as much as the headline figure: the same casino can take $5 by one route and refuse it by another.
How we decided who counts
A casino is on this list if its own pages publish a minimum of $5 or less for real deposits, outside any promotion. It does not have to apply to every method: Betano counts because four of its methods take $5, and PartyCasino because its cashier shows $5 for Visa. A figure that appears only in an app-store blurb, only in offer terms, or only in a third-party list does not count. Where a casino publishes no figure at all, we do not guess one.
Two names are left out on purpose. DraftKings publishes no general minimum deposit, only that an initial Interac deposit of $5 or more is needed before you can withdraw by Interac. Captain Cooks mentions $5 only inside promotional terms, which this site does not cover; its own homepage says deposits run from $10 to $500.
Betano at $5: four routes in, a $10 exit
Betano is the $5 casino with the most published detail. Its help centre lists every deposit method with a minimum, a maximum and a processing time, and that table is what this section is built on.

Betano deposit methods and limits
| Method | Minimum deposit | Maximum deposit | Pays out to it | After internal processing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Interac | $5 | $3,000 | Yes, from $10 | Deposit in about 5 minutes; payout within about 30 minutes |
| Interac e-Transfer (request money) | $10 | $3,000 | Yes, from $10, up to $15,000 | Deposit in about 5 minutes |
| Apple Pay | $5 | $5,000 | Yes, from $10 | Instant; payout within about a minute |
| Google Pay | $5 | $5,000 | Yes, from $10 | Instant; payout within about 30 minutes |
| paysafecard | $5 | $1,000 | No (voucher) | Deposit in about 5 minutes |
| Visa / Mastercard | $10 | $50,000 | Yes, from $10 | Instant; payout within about a minute |
| PayPal | $10 | $5,000 | Yes, from $10 | Instant; payout within about 30 minutes |
| e-Cashout | Withdrawals only | — | Yes, $10 to $25,000 | Minutes at real-time banks, otherwise 1–4 business days |
Four of the eight routes take $5, and every route that can pay out does so from $10. Betano also ties the way out to the way in: money returns to the method you deposited with, so a paysafecard deposit needs a second, withdrawable method on the account before anything can leave.
Withdrawing from Betano
Withdrawals go through an internal check of up to 24 hours. After that the cashier table gives about 30 minutes for Interac and PayPal and about a minute for cards and Apple Pay, which puts Betano among the quickest payers we have looked at. One setting is worth knowing about: you can switch off the option to cancel a pending withdrawal, which takes effect immediately, while switching it back on takes seven days. That stops a payout being reversed on impulse.
Where $5 goes furthest at Betano
Betano’s lobby is one of the largest in the province: 5,279 slots, 138 jackpot games, 413 live blackjack tables, 153 baccarat tables and 90 game shows, from 36 studios. The live floor is where a small balance needs most care, and Betano helps by printing the minimum stake on every table tile before you sit down. Baccarat starts at C$0.20, and the Live From Vegas rail of fourteen tables runs from C$0.20 to C$100.

Sort the blackjack floor by minimum stake and check the payout rule before you play: tables paying 3 to 2 and 6 to 5 sit side by side, and on a $5 balance the difference shows quickly.
Betano app, support and limits
One app per platform carries casino, live casino and sportsbook, rated 4.6 on the App Store and 4.4 on Google Play, and it still runs on iOS 15. Support is live chat from the help centre, opening with a virtual assistant; there is no phone line. Deposit limits run by calendar day and month, loss limits on a rolling 24 hours, 7 or 30 days, set separately for casino and sport. Betano scores 4.1; the full picture is in our Betano review.
Who Betano suits at $5
Betano suits a $5 player who wants a large live floor with low, printed table minimums and quick payouts once the balance reaches $10. It suits less well if you want your $5 back unplayed, or if you need a phone line. Use Interac, Apple Pay or Google Pay for the $5, and keep in mind that the same method will be your way out.
Caesars Palace Online at $5: $5 in, $1 out
Caesars Palace Online’s payments page states it as a rule: a $5 minimum for digital deposits and a $1 minimum for digital withdrawals. With Betty, it is one of only two licensed Ontario casinos where a $5 deposit can come back out without being played up first.

Caesars deposit methods and limits
| Method | Minimum deposit | Maximum deposit | Pays out to it | Timing as published |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Interac e-Transfer | $5 | $25,000 per transaction | Yes, $1 to $25,000 | Withdrawals need Interac AutoDeposit set up in your bank |
| Visa / Mastercard | $5 (site minimum) | — | Debit cards only | Many debit withdrawals post within an hour of approval |
| PayPal | $5 (site minimum) | — | Yes | Most approved payouts arrive the same day |
| Apple Pay | $5 (site minimum) | — | No | — |
| Online banking (Trustly) | $5 (site minimum) | — | Yes | Processed daily; bank posting can take several business days |
| Bank wire | $2,500 | — | Yes | Separate request form for Ontario |
Caesars is also one of the few Ontario sites that still takes credit cards. Several Canadian issuers treat a gambling deposit on a credit card as a cash advance, with a fee and interest from the first day, so a debit card or Interac is the better route for $5.
Withdrawing from Caesars
The terms allow up to 72 hours of internal processing, plus any security review. After approval, many debit-card withdrawals post within an hour and PayPal usually the same day. Interac e-Transfer pays from $1 to $25,000 per transaction, but only once Interac AutoDeposit is switched on in your banking app, so it is worth doing that before you request the first payout.

Where $5 goes furthest at Caesars
We counted 4,096 games in the Ontario lobby from 49 suppliers: 3,841 slots, 202 live tables, 35 RNG blackjack tables and 12 video poker titles. The RNG blackjack and video poker shelves are the cheapest way to play cards on a small balance, since they run without a dealer’s table minimum. Caesars also publishes its own house-edge table, which almost no operator does, so you can check a game’s long-run cost before you choose it.
Caesars app, support and limits
The iPhone app is rated 4.48 from 1,357 ratings and the Android app 4.21 from 9,852. Live chat is the main support channel and is described as available around the clock; there is no published phone number or general email. Limits cover deposits, spend, single wagers, losses and time, each by day, week or month, with cool-off breaks of 1 to 90 days. One correction to make in your head: the Caesars terms and App Store listing say 21, but in Ontario the age is 19.

Caesars scores 4.1; see the Caesars Palace Online review for the full assessment.
Who Caesars suits at $5
Caesars is the strongest all-round $5 choice for most people: $5 in, $1 out, Interac both ways, a 4,096-game lobby and a well-rated iPhone app. It is a little less suited to you if you want to phone support, or if you prefer documentation written only for Ontario; some pages still mix in US rules, such as the age of 21.
PointsBet at $5: the same $5 in and out
PointsBet sets $5 as the smallest deposit in the live configuration of its Ontario site, applies it to every method that publishes a figure, and sets the smallest withdrawal at $5 as well. A deposit you do not play can be withdrawn whole.
PointsBet deposit methods and limits
| Method | Minimum deposit | Maximum deposit | Pays out to it | Timing after the one-day processing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Interac | C$5 | C$3,000 | Yes, up to C$25,000 | 1–2 hours in one help article, 1–2 business days in another |
| PayPal | C$5 | C$50,000 | Yes | About 30 minutes |
| Online banking (Trustly) | C$5 | C$10,000 | Yes | 1–2 business days (another article: 2–3) |
| Visa / Mastercard / Amex | C$5 | C$50,000 | No, deposit only | — |
| Apple Pay / Google Pay | C$5 (site minimum) | — | No, deposit only | — |
Cards and mobile wallets are deposit-only here, so plan the way out before the way in: a $5 Visa deposit comes back by Interac, PayPal or online banking. PayPal is the quickest route once processing is done.
Withdrawing from PointsBet
Every withdrawal first waits one business day. A first withdrawal that needs a check by the payments team takes 3 to 5 business days, so the very first payout is the slow one. For Interac, the help centre contradicts itself, so plan on the longer of its two answers. PointsBet says most withdrawals are automated and carry no transaction fees.

Where $5 goes furthest at PointsBet
PointsBet is the one Ontario casino we know of that publishes a list of games accepting a $0.01 minimum bet: Legacy of Dead, Lightning Ball in the live casino, Lion Saga, Odyssey, Merry Xmas, Naughty Nick’s Book, White Orchid and Holiday Season. At a cent a round, $5 is 500 rounds. Beyond those, the lobby groups slots by studio, with named rows for Hacksaw, Blueprint, Red Tiger and Relax, and the live floor runs to more than 90 Evolution tables.
PointsBet app, support and limits
PointsBet is the only one of the six with a published phone line, 1-833-441-1940, alongside chat and email around the clock. Its apps rate 4.4 on the App Store and 2.7 on Google Play. Deposit and loss limits are offered during registration rather than hidden in settings; tightening one is immediate, while loosening one means waiting out the period plus a 24-hour cool-off. Its record with the AGCO is the heaviest of any Ontario operator, set out in our review.

PointsBet scores 3.8; see the PointsBet review.
Who PointsBet suits at $5
PointsBet suits a $5 player who values matching floors on both sides, a phone line and the longest published list of one-cent games. It also suits anyone who bets on sport, since casino and sportsbook share one wallet. It suits less well if you deposit by card and expect the money back on the card, or if you mainly play on Android.
PartyCasino at $5: a Visa floor and fast card payouts
PartyCasino’s cashier, as shown in its own app-store materials, lists Visa at a $5 minimum and Maestro at $6.78. Its help centre publishes no general minimum, so treat $5 as a Visa figure rather than a site-wide one.

PartyCasino deposit methods and limits
| Method | Minimum deposit | Pays out to it | Timing as published |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visa | $5 | Yes | Visa Fast Funds: up to 4 hours after approval, 24/7 |
| Maestro | $6.78 | — | — |
| Interac | — | Yes | Deposits within an hour; withdrawals credited within 8 hours |
| Mastercard | — | Only in some countries | Deposits instant |
| Bank transfer | — | Yes | 3–5 business days after approval |
| Apple Pay / Amex | — | No, deposit only | Deposits instant |
If you plan to deposit $5, Visa is therefore the one route with a confirmed $5 floor, and it is also PartyCasino’s fastest way back out. PartyCasino charges no withdrawal fees.
Withdrawing from PartyCasino
Every request goes through an internal review of about 24 hours, up to two business days, before the method’s own timing starts. Visa Fast Funds then pays within four hours, with a cap of five withdrawals in any rolling 24 hours. Until a withdrawal is dispatched you can reverse it; if you would rather not be tempted, request it when you are done playing. Identity checks offer two routes: a selfie with a Canadian photo ID, or an ID plus a recent bill or bank statement.
Where $5 goes furthest at PartyCasino
The lobby has eleven tabs, with an Arcade section of quick games given more space than almost anywhere else in Ontario. For a small balance the standout is blackjack: Premium Blackjack Pro pays 3 to 2 from a C$0.10 minimum, up to C$2,500 a hand, so $5 is fifty hands at the floor.

PartyCasino app, support and limits
The iPhone app is rated 4.55 from 7,454 ratings but needs iOS 18, which rules out older phones. There is no published Ontario phone number, and the contact page sits behind the login. Lowering a deposit limit is instant; raising one waits 24 hours and must then be confirmed at your next login, or the old limit stays. Time-outs run from a day to three months, self-exclusion from six months to five years. PartyCasino scores 3.6; see our PartyCasino review.
Who PartyCasino suits at $5
PartyCasino suits a $5 player who deposits by Visa, wants fast card payouts and plays low-stakes blackjack. It suits less well if you want to see a support channel before you register, use an older iPhone, or deposit by a method other than Visa, where no minimum is published.
Betty at $5: any amount from $1, both ways
Betty takes any amount from $1 on every method and pays out from $1, so $5 is simply five times its floor. It is covered in depth in the $1 guide linked above; this is what matters at $5.
Betty deposit methods and limits
| Method | Minimum deposit | Pays out to it | Timing after approval |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interac e-Transfer | $1 | Yes, $1 to $9,999 | Within 24 hours |
| Visa (incl. prepaid) | $1 | Yes | Debit 1 business day; credit 1–3 |
| Mastercard (incl. prepaid) | $1 | No, deposit only | — |
| Apple Pay (Betty app) | $1 | No, deposit only | — |
A card can only receive a withdrawal after it has been used to deposit, which is why Betty’s own help centre suggests a small deposit to enable one. Betty charges no fees, and states up to five business days of internal processing before Interac pays within 24 hours.

Where $5 goes furthest at Betty
Betty’s lobby holds 5,579 games from 69 studios, almost all slots, and it publishes a volatility rating on every game, which lets you pick a gentler slot for a small balance. The table side is thin: one RNG roulette game, no blackjack, no baccarat, plus Evolution game shows such as Crazy Time and Mega Ball. Its apps rate 4.57 on the App Store and 4.45 on Google Play; support is live chat and email around the clock. Betty scores 4.0.

Who Betty suits at $5
Betty suits a $5 player who mainly plays slots and wants the lowest floors in the province on both sides, plus well-rated apps. It suits less well if you want blackjack or baccarat, which it does not offer, or a phone line.
Lucky Days at $5: low in, $10 out
Lucky Days also takes any amount from $1 on most methods, and its catalogue suits a $5 player who wants live tables. The catch is the exit: $10 minimum, and each deposit wagered once in full before it is withdrawn.
Lucky Days deposit methods and limits
| Method | Minimum deposit | Maximum deposit |
|---|---|---|
| Interac | $1 | $10,000 |
| Visa / Mastercard | $1 | $5,000 |
| Apple Pay | $1 | $5,000 |
| MuchBetter | $1 | $5,000 |
| Neosurf (voucher) | $1 | $250 |
| Trustly | $10 | $5,000 |
Lucky Days processes withdrawals within 24 hours of verification, then up to five banking days depending on the method; e-wallets are paid immediately after that, cards in one to five working days. After twelve months without a login, an inactivity fee of CA$5 a month applies.

The wager-once rule, explained
Lucky Days’ terms ask that each deposit be wagered at least once, in full, before it is withdrawn. It is an anti-money-laundering rule, not a promotional condition: it stops the casino being used to move money in and straight back out. On $5 it means $5 of bets, for instance fifty $0.10 spins, before a withdrawal is processed normally. Withdraw unplayed funds and the request is reviewed and delayed, and Lucky Days reserves the right to pass on its costs.
Where $5 goes furthest at Lucky Days
Its Ontario lobby holds 3,857 games from 85 studios, with 186 live titles, which makes it the better of the two $1-floor sites if you want a dealer. Run by L7 Entertainment Ltd, it prints its AGCO registration in its own footer. Apps rate 3.54 on iPhone and 3.38 on Android, and support is chat-only. Lucky Days scores 2.9.

Who Lucky Days suits at $5
Lucky Days suits a $5 player who wants live dealer tables and the widest choice of methods at a low floor, MuchBetter and Neosurf included. It suits less well if you may want your deposit back unplayed: the $10 floor and the wager-once rule mean a $5 deposit is a $5 commitment to play.
The six $5 casinos side by side
The entry price is one line in a longer comparison. This is how the six stand on the things you will notice after the first deposit, from our reviews.
| Casino | Games we counted | Live dealer | App ratings (iOS / Android) | Support | Our score |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Betano | 5,279 slots, 36 studios | 413 blackjack, 153 baccarat tables | 4.6 / 4.4 | Live chat | 4.1 |
| Caesars Palace Online | 4,096 games, 49 suppliers | 202 tables | 4.48 / 4.21 | Live chat | 4.1 |
| PointsBet | No published total | More than 90 tables | 4.4 / 2.7 | Phone, chat, email | 3.8 |
| PartyCasino | No published total; 48 exclusives | Playtech and Entain tables | 4.55 / 4.3 | Behind the login | 3.6 |
| Betty | 5,579 games, 69 studios | 12 game shows, no blackjack | 4.57 / 4.45 | Live chat, email | 4.0 |
| Lucky Days | 3,857 games, 85 studios | 186 live titles | 3.54 / 3.38 | Live chat | 2.9 |
On the overall picture, Betano and Caesars lead at 4.1, Betty follows at 4.0, and PointsBet’s phone line is the one support channel the others cannot match. Lucky Days trails on apps and support, but not on live tables.
If support matters most to you, test it before the deposit rather than after: open the chat or help centre, ask how long a $5 withdrawal takes, and note both the answer and how long it took to arrive. At PartyCasino that test needs an account, since its contact page sits behind the login.
Can you withdraw $5? The round trip
A small deposit is often a test of the cashier, the bank and the casino’s honesty. Whether that test can end with your $5 back in your account depends on the minimum withdrawal, not the minimum deposit.
| Casino | Minimum deposit | Minimum withdrawal | After you request it | $5 back without playing? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Caesars Palace Online | $5 | $1 | Up to 72 hours internal; debit cards often within an hour after | Yes |
| Betty | $1 | $1 | Up to five business days internal; Interac within 24 hours after | Yes |
| PointsBet | $5 | $5 | One business day; PayPal about 30 minutes after | Yes |
| Betano | $5 | $10 | Within 24 hours; Interac about 30 minutes after | No: the balance must reach $10 |
| Lucky Days | $1 | $10 | 24 hours after verification, then up to five banking days | No: $10, and the deposit wagered once |
| PartyCasino | $5 (Visa) | Not published | About 24 hours to two business days; Visa within four hours after | Not stated by the operator |
If being able to cancel the experiment matters, Caesars, Betty and PointsBet are the three where it costs you nothing. At Betano and Lucky Days, $5 in is money committed to play until the balance reaches $10.
Two rules apply everywhere. Every registered Ontario casino must verify your identity before the first payout, and money goes back to a method you deposited with where it can: a paysafecard deposit, for instance, comes out by Interac or bank transfer. Our page on the fastest casino withdrawals in Ontario compares payout times across every site.
Business days and the first payout
Most processing times are counted in business days, and that changes the arithmetic around a weekend. A withdrawal requested at PointsBet on a Friday evening finishes its one-day processing on Monday, not Saturday. PartyCasino’s review can take up to two business days before Visa’s four hours begin. Caesars allows up to 72 hours. Betano’s 24-hour internal check is the shortest of the four $5 casinos, and Betty’s five business days the longest of the six.
The first withdrawal is usually the slowest anywhere, because it is the one that triggers document checks. Later payouts to the same verified method tend to follow the published timeline more closely.
Do you pay tax on winnings from $5?
For recreational players in Canada, casino winnings are generally not treated as taxable income, so a win that started from a $5 deposit is not normally something to declare. The exception is gambling run as a business, which the Canada Revenue Agency assesses case by case. If your play is anything more than recreational, ask a tax professional rather than relying on a general rule.
Reversible withdrawals
At some casinos a requested withdrawal can be cancelled and the money returned to your balance until it is sent. PartyCasino allows this until dispatch. Betano lets you switch the option off: turning it off is immediate, turning it back on takes seven days. If you are withdrawing to stop playing, that setting removes the temptation to reverse the request.
Fees that can eat into $5
On a $100 deposit a fee is an annoyance; on $5 it can be most of the balance. None of the six charges a fee to deposit, and Betano, PartyCasino, Betty and PointsBet say plainly that they charge nothing on withdrawals either. The costs that do exist sit elsewhere.
| Possible cost | Where it applies | How to avoid it |
|---|---|---|
| Credit card cash advance | Card issuers that classify gambling as a cash advance | Use a debit card or Interac |
| Inactivity fee | Lucky Days: CA$5 a month after 12 months without a login | Withdraw or close the account before a long break |
| Balance withheld | PartyCasino: after 18 months of inactivity | Do not leave small balances sitting |
| Bank wire charges | Caesars wire transfers start at $2,500 | Irrelevant at $5: use Interac or PayPal |
| Voucher remainder | paysafecard is sold in fixed amounts above $5 | Keep the PIN for the remainder |
The pattern is simple: a $5 balance is safest when it is either played or withdrawn, not left. Inactivity rules are written for forgotten accounts, and small forgotten balances are exactly what they catch.
Verification before your first withdrawal
Every registered Ontario casino must confirm who you are before it pays out, whatever the amount. Name, date of birth and address are checked when you sign up, and a document is often requested before the first withdrawal. At PartyCasino there are two routes: a selfie with a Canadian driver’s licence, passport, photo card or permanent resident card, or one of those IDs plus a utility bill, bank statement or phone bill from the last three months.
Two practical points follow for a $5 deposit. First, do the verification before you need the money: a first withdrawal at PointsBet that needs a payments-team check takes 3 to 5 business days, against one day for later ones. Second, the payment method must be in your name. A card or bank account belonging to a partner or parent is refused, and the deposit may have to be returned before you can play.
Minimum deposit by payment method at $5
The method you plan to use narrows the list quickly. This is which of the six take $5 by each route, where the floor is higher, and whether the method can receive a withdrawal.
| Method | $5 or less at | Higher floor at | Pays out to it at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Interac | Betano, Caesars, PointsBet; Betty and Lucky Days from $1 | Betano’s e-Transfer request route: $10 | Betano, Caesars, PointsBet, Betty |
| Visa | Caesars, PointsBet, PartyCasino; Betty and Lucky Days from $1 | Betano: $10 | Betano, Caesars (debit), PartyCasino, Betty |
| Mastercard | Caesars, PointsBet; Betty and Lucky Days from $1 | Betano: $10; PartyCasino Maestro: $6.78 | Betano, Caesars (debit) |
| Apple Pay | Betano, Caesars, PointsBet; Betty (app) and Lucky Days from $1 | None | Betano only |
| Google Pay | Betano, PointsBet | None | Betano only |
| PayPal | Caesars, PointsBet | Betano: $10 | Betano, Caesars, PointsBet |
| paysafecard | Betano | None | None: voucher, deposit only |
| Online banking (Trustly) | Caesars, PointsBet | Lucky Days: $10 | Caesars, PointsBet |
Interac is the safest single choice: five of the six take it at $5 or less and four pay back to it. PayPal is the method where the list is shortest, and paysafecard is the one where you need a second route for any withdrawal.
Interac at $5
Interac is the default route in Ontario and the only one that works at five of the six. Two details matter at $5. At Betano, the $5 floor applies to its Interac route, while the e-Transfer “request money” option starts at $10, so pick the right button in the cashier. At Caesars, Interac withdrawals need Interac AutoDeposit switched on in your bank before the first payout. Our Interac casinos guide covers timings and limits at every licensed site.
Visa and Mastercard at $5
Cards are where the six differ most. PointsBet, Caesars and PartyCasino take a $5 Visa deposit; Betano wants $10. On the way out, Betano, Caesars (debit only), PartyCasino and Betty pay back to Visa, while PointsBet treats every card as deposit-only. A debit card is the better choice for a small deposit: some issuers refuse small gambling transactions on credit cards or charge them as cash advances. See Visa casinos in Ontario for the full list.
Apple Pay and Google Pay at $5
Apple Pay takes $5 at Betano, Caesars and PointsBet and $1 at Betty (inside its app) and Lucky Days; Google Pay takes $5 at Betano and PointsBet. Betano is the only one of the six that pays back to either wallet. Everywhere else, a wallet deposit comes out by Interac, card or PayPal, so make sure one of those is on the account. Our Apple Pay casinos guide has the rest of the market.
PayPal at $5
Only Caesars and PointsBet take PayPal at $5; Betano starts at $10, and no licensed Ontario casino we review goes lower. All three pay back to PayPal, and it is the fastest exit at PointsBet, about 30 minutes after the one-day processing period. More in our PayPal casinos guide.
paysafecard and vouchers at $5
Betano takes paysafecard from $5, up to $1,000. The voucher itself is sold in fixed amounts, usually from $10, so a $5 deposit leaves the rest of the PIN for later. A voucher cannot receive a withdrawal, which means adding Interac or a bank account before you cash out. Lucky Days takes Neosurf vouchers from $1, up to $250. See paysafecard casinos.
Prepaid cards at $5
Prepaid Visa and Mastercard cards work at Betty from $1, capped at $250 and five different cards in any seven days. Betano accepts prepaid cards with its card minimum of $10, and its help centre warns that a prepaid card cannot receive a withdrawal unless a Canadian method such as Interac or a bank account is added to the account. Treat a prepaid card as a way in only, and set up the way out before you play.
Online banking at $5
Online banking through Trustly logs you into your bank from the cashier, with no card involved. Caesars and PointsBet take it at $5 and pay back to it, usually within one to three business days; Lucky Days starts it at $10. It is rarely the fastest route, but it avoids card declines. Our bank transfer casinos guide compares the options.
What a $5 deposit buys
These minimum stakes come from Betty’s public game pages, where each title shows its own minimum bet, maximum bet and RTP. The same games appear at most of the six casinos, usually with the same floors.
| Game | Type | Minimum bet | Rounds for $5 | RTP as published |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mega Ball (Evolution) | Live game show | $0.01 | 500 | 95.40% |
| Big Bass Bonanza (Pragmatic Play) | Slot | $0.10 | 50 | 95.67% |
| First Person Roulette (Evolution) | RNG roulette | $0.10 | 50 | 97.30% |
| Crazy Time (Evolution) | Live game show | $0.10 | 50 | 96.08% |
| Gates of Olympus (Pragmatic Play) | Slot | $0.20 | 25 | 94.50% |
| Sweet Bonanza (Pragmatic Play) | Slot | $0.20 | 25 | 95.50% |
| Book of Dead (Play’n GO) | Slot | $0.50 | 10 | 96.21% |
So $5 is a short session of 25 to 50 spins on a popular slot, or 50 spins of RNG roulette, before any wins are counted. Below, what each kind of game gives you for the same $5 at the six casinos.
Slots on a $5 balance
Most popular slots start at $0.10 or $0.20 a spin. On a small balance, volatility matters as much as RTP: a high-volatility slot can take $5 in a dozen spins without a single meaningful win, while a low-volatility one pays small amounts more often. Betty publishes a volatility rating on every game, which makes the choice easy there. Our guide to online slots in Ontario lists RTPs by title.
Roulette on a $5 balance
RNG roulette at $0.10 a spin is the cheapest table game, and the European wheel returns 97.3% on every standard bet. Avoid the American wheel at 94.74% if you have the choice: on the same $5, it costs almost twice as much per spin over time. Our online roulette guide compares the wheels.
Blackjack and baccarat on $5
Live blackjack and baccarat tables usually start at $1 to $5 a hand, so $5 is one to five hands. Two exceptions stand out among the six: PartyCasino’s Premium Blackjack Pro from $0.10, and Betano’s live baccarat from C$0.20. Caesars’ RNG blackjack shelf also runs without a dealer’s minimum. Check that blackjack pays 3 to 2, not 6 to 5, before you play.
Game shows and one-cent games
Live game shows are cheaper than they look: Mega Ball takes a card for $0.01 and Crazy Time a bet for $0.10. PointsBet lists eight games with a one-cent minimum, Lightning Ball among them. At a cent a round, $5 is 500 rounds, though game shows tend to carry a lower RTP than the best slots and tables. Our live casino guide lists table limits by site.
How far $5 goes: the arithmetic
Every casino game returns slightly less than it takes over time. Divide your $5 by the house edge and you get how much, on average, you can expect to wager before it is gone, with every win played back.
| RTP | House edge | Average total wagered from $5 | Average $0.10 spins |
|---|---|---|---|
| 94.0% | 6.0% | $83.33 | 833 |
| 95.5% | 4.5% | $111.11 | 1,111 |
| 96.0% | 4.0% | $125.00 | 1,250 |
| 97.3% (European roulette) | 2.7% | $185.19 | 1,852 |
A higher RTP stretches the same $5 further, which is why the RTP column of the game table matters more than its theme. Smaller stakes do not change the odds of any single round; they only spread the same expected loss over more of them.
A worked example
Take $5 to a slot with a 96% RTP at $0.10 a spin. Fifty spins put exactly $5 through the game, and the average cost of those fifty spins is 4% of $5: twenty cents. If every win is played back, the same 4% applies to everything you wager, so the $5 lasts on average for $125 of bets, or 1,250 spins.
That average hides the swings. On a medium-volatility slot, many $5 sessions end within a hundred spins, while a few run far beyond the average when a feature lands early. The RTP tells you what the game costs over thousands of spins; it does not tell you how a single $5 session will go. That is why the limit you set matters more than the game you choose.
Which RTP to look for
The same slot can run at different RTP settings at different casinos, and the lobby you play in decides which one you get. Check the figure in the game’s information panel rather than a list online. For table games the rules set the RTP: European roulette returns 97.3% on every standard bet, blackjack paying 3 to 2 returns more than one paying 6 to 5, and the banker bet in baccarat returns 98.94%. Our page on the best paying online casinos in Ontario compares the RTPs each lobby publishes.
Small stakes buy time, not a better chance
The fact that smaller stakes do not improve the odds has a consequence at casinos with a $10 withdrawal floor. Take $5 to European roulette and bet on red until you reach $10 or lose the $5. The arithmetic of a 2.7% house edge gives these chances:
| Stake per spin | Spins needed to double, at even luck | Chance of reaching $10 before $0 |
|---|---|---|
| $5.00 | 1 | 48.6% |
| $1.00 | 5 | 43.3% |
| $0.50 | 10 | 36.8% |
| $0.20 | 25 | 20.6% |
| $0.10 | 50 | 6.3% |
This is not a reason to bet bigger: the larger the stake, the faster the session ends either way. It is a reason to choose the casino by its withdrawal floor. If you deposit $5 at Caesars, Betty or PointsBet, nothing has to be won before you can withdraw; at a $10-floor site, the more slowly you play, the less likely you are to reach it.
Why most Ontario casinos start at $10
What the 51 registered casinos publish
Across the 51 registered brands we review, two take $1, four start at $5, 29 at $10, four at $20, and twelve publish no general minimum outside the cashier. Card and Interac transactions carry fixed processing costs, and most operators set their floor where those costs stop mattering.

Why the floor sits at $10
Every card or Interac payment carries a processing charge for the casino, often a fixed amount plus a percentage, and identity and fraud checks cost the same whatever the deposit. On $5 those costs take a larger share than on $10, which is why most operators set $10 as the line. The casinos that go lower have usually decided that a cheap first look is worth the cost of attracting new players.
The $20 casinos and the ones with no figure
Four registered brands start higher, at $20: NorthStar Bets, Sports Interaction, BET99 and High Flyer. Twelve publish no general minimum outside the logged-in cashier, among them FanDuel, DraftKings, Betway, bwin, BetVictor and PlayFallsview. For those, the cashier is the only place the figure appears, and it can differ by method; if $5 matters to you, they are not the place to start.
Why Canada-wide $5 lists miss Ontario
That is also why Canada-wide “$5 deposit casino” lists rarely work in Ontario. The brands they put forward most often — Spin Casino, Jackpot City, Ruby Fortune and Royal Vegas — are licensed here, but all four start at $10 on their Ontario sites. Others on those lists are not on the iGaming Ontario register at all, and the “deposit $5, get…” style of offer they are built around is not something a licensed Ontario site may advertise to you.
$5 deposit casinos on mobile
Most $5 deposits are made on a phone, and two of the cheapest methods only work there: Apple Pay and Google Pay. The six casinos differ on what their apps need and how well they are rated.
- Betano runs one app per platform for casino and sportsbook, rated 4.6 on the App Store and 4.4 on Google Play, and still supports iOS 15, which matters if your iPhone is a few years old.
- Caesars Palace Online is rated 4.48 on iPhone and 4.21 on Android; the iPhone app is the stronger of the two.
- PointsBet has a 4.4 iPhone app and a 2.7 Android app, the widest gap of the six.
- PartyCasino is rated 4.55 on iPhone but needs iOS 18, which rules out every iPhone older than the XS.
- Betty takes Apple Pay only inside its own app, rated 4.57 on iPhone and 4.45 on Android.
- Lucky Days has the lowest-rated apps of the six, 3.54 and 3.38, and one of the smallest downloads we have measured.
On every app, the deposit-limit screen sits in the account menu. Setting it from the phone before the first $5 deposit takes less than a minute. Our guide to the best casino apps in Ontario compares the apps of every licensed site.
Is a $5 deposit casino worth it?
A $5 floor is useful for some purposes and irrelevant for others. Weighed honestly:
What $5 does well
- It lets you see the cashier, the lobby and support from the inside for the price of a coffee.
- At Caesars, Betty and PointsBet, it can be withdrawn unplayed, so the test costs nothing but time.
- It keeps a session small by design: 25 to 50 slot spins, or 50 hands of $0.10 blackjack at PartyCasino.
- It works by Interac at five of the six casinos, the method most Ontario players already use.
Where $5 falls short
- Only six of the 51 registered casinos we review accept it, so the choice is narrow.
- At Betano and Lucky Days, $5 cannot leave until the balance reaches $10.
- Several methods start higher: cards and PayPal at Betano, Trustly at Lucky Days.
- Live blackjack and baccarat at $1 to $5 a hand turn $5 into a handful of hands.
In short, $5 is a sensible entry point when the casino’s withdrawal floor is $5 or lower, and a less sensible one when it is not.
$5, $1 or $10: which entry point suits you
| If you want… | Start with | Why |
|---|---|---|
| The cheapest real look at a casino | $1 at Betty | Same $1 floor in and out, so an unplayed dollar comes back |
| A small balance you can cash out | $5 at Caesars or PointsBet | Withdrawals from $1 and $5, Interac both ways |
| $5 with the fastest payout once you reach $10 | $5 at Betano | Interac about 30 minutes after a 24-hour internal check |
| $5 by Visa | PartyCasino, PointsBet or Caesars | Betano’s card floor is $10 |
| The widest choice of sites and methods | $10 | 29 of the 51 registered casinos we review start there |
When $1 is enough
If the goal is only to look around a casino, $1 at Betty does the job: the same $1 floor applies on the way out, so an unplayed deposit comes straight back. Lucky Days also takes $1, but needs $10 and one full play-through before you can withdraw.
When $5 is the right step
Five dollars makes sense when you want a little real play and the option to cash out a small balance. That points to Caesars or PointsBet, where withdrawals start at $1 and $5, and to Interac, which both pay back to.
When $10 makes more sense
If you already know which casino you want and it starts at $10, depositing $10 there is better than $5 somewhere you would not otherwise choose. Most of the market, and most payment methods, begin at $10.
For most people starting at $5, Caesars Palace Online and PointsBet are the cleanest answer: the deposit and the withdrawal floors sit together, and Interac works both ways. Betano is the pick if fast payouts matter more than the $10 exit, and our ranking of Ontario online casinos compares every site on more than its entry price.
How to make a $5 deposit in Ontario
- Open an account from inside Ontario. Every registered site checks your location by browser or app permission before you can play; a VPN blocks you rather than helps.
- Verify your identity. Name, date of birth and address are checked at sign-up, and a document may be asked for before the first withdrawal. You must be 19 or older.
- Choose a method that takes $5 at that casino. Interac at Betano, Caesars or PointsBet; Visa at PartyCasino. If the amount field rejects $5, that method has a higher floor.
- Enter $5 and confirm. Interac sends you to your bank or an e-Transfer request; cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay confirm in the cashier. The money normally appears within minutes.
- Set a deposit limit before you play. The limit screen is in the account menu at every Ontario site and takes effect immediately.
Depositing $5 by Interac
Choose Interac in the cashier, enter $5 and confirm. Depending on the casino, you are either sent to your online banking to approve the payment, or you receive an e-Transfer request by email or in your banking app. The money normally appears within minutes. Turn on Interac AutoDeposit in your bank while you are there: Caesars requires it for withdrawals, and it removes the security-question step elsewhere.
Depositing $5 by card
At PointsBet, Caesars and PartyCasino, enter your card details and $5, and approve the payment in your bank’s app if asked. Use a debit card where you can. Remember that PointsBet does not pay back to cards, so add Interac, PayPal or online banking to the account before you need to withdraw.
Depositing $5 by Apple Pay or Google Pay
On a phone, Apple Pay or Google Pay confirms with a fingerprint or face check and credits instantly. At Betty, Apple Pay works only inside the Betty app. Only Betano pays back to the wallet itself; at the other casinos, the withdrawal goes to Interac, a card or PayPal instead.
Why a $5 deposit can fail
Most failed small deposits have nothing to do with the casino’s minimum. These are the usual causes, and the fix for each.
The method has a higher floor
If the amount field rejects $5, the method you picked starts higher. At Betano, cards, PayPal and the Interac e-Transfer request route start at $10; at Lucky Days, Trustly does. Switch to a method from the table above rather than adding money.
Your bank declines it
Some banks and card issuers block gambling transactions outright, and some decline very small ones as a fraud check. Interac from a debit account is refused less often than a card. If a credit card goes through, check whether your issuer charged it as a cash advance.
The name does not match
The card, bank account or wallet must be in the same name as the casino account. A family member’s card is refused, and a mismatch found after the deposit can freeze the balance until it is resolved.
The site cannot place you in Ontario
Every registered site checks your location before it lets you deposit or play. A VPN, a work network that routes elsewhere, or location permission switched off in the app will stop the cashier from opening.
A limit you set is in the way
Deposit limits count every deposit. If you set one earlier and reached it, the cashier will refuse even $5 until the period resets. That is the limit working as intended; raising it always involves a waiting period.
A $5 test deposit, step by step
Many people deposit $5 to try a casino before trusting it with more. A test is only useful if it tests the right things. This is the order we would follow.
- Check the register first. Confirm the operator and web address on the iGaming Ontario register before you open an account.
- Set your limits at sign-up. A weekly deposit limit of the amount you are willing to spend costs nothing.
- Deposit $5 by a method that pays back. Interac is the safe choice at Betano, Caesars, PointsBet and Betty.
- Ask support one question. How long a withdrawal takes, for instance. The answer and the time it takes are both information.
- Verify your identity now. Upload documents before you need a payout, so the first withdrawal is not the slow one.
- Withdraw something. At Caesars, Betty or PointsBet you can withdraw the $5 itself; elsewhere, withdraw as soon as the balance reaches the floor.
A casino that handles a $5 round trip cleanly, with clear limits, a straight answer from support and a payout on the published timeline, has passed the tests that matter. One that does not has told you what you needed to know for $5.
Playing on a $5 budget, safely
Limits at the six $5 casinos
| Casino | Limits you can set | What stands out |
|---|---|---|
| Betano | Deposit (day, week, month) and loss (24 hours, 7 or 30 days) | Loss limits set separately for casino and sport; a monthly deposit-limit rise waits seven days or until the 1st |
| Caesars Palace Online | Deposit, spend, single wager, loss and time | Cool-off breaks of 1 to 90 days; reinstatement after self-exclusion takes at least 30 days |
| PointsBet | Deposit, spend, loss and time on site | Limits offered during sign-up; a rise waits out the period plus 24 hours |
| PartyCasino | Deposit limits, time-outs, self-exclusion | A rise must be confirmed at your next login after 24 hours, or the old limit stays |
| Betty | Deposit, loss and time (day, week, month) | Lowering is immediate, raising takes 24 hours; time-out of 1 day to 3 months |
| Lucky Days | Deposit, loss and session limits | Raising takes at least 24 hours; self-exclusion for 6 months, 1 year or 5 years |
Every one of the six lets you lower a limit immediately and makes you wait to raise it. If you plan to play with $5 a week, setting a $5 weekly deposit limit before the first deposit costs nothing and is the simplest guard there is.
Signs that small deposits are adding up
Small deposits are easy to repeat. If you find yourself making several $5 deposits in a session, chasing a balance back to where it was, or depositing to reach a withdrawal floor, those are the moments to stop and set a limit. Every casino keeps a deposit history in the account, and reading it once a week is a simple check.
Ontario also has BetGuard, the centralised self-exclusion register run by iGaming Ontario: one registration blocks you from every licensed site in the province, not just one. A self-exclusion at a single casino, by contrast, applies only there, although Caesars says its own applies across all Caesars platforms.
Help in Ontario
A $5 floor is a minimum, not a budget. Every registered Ontario casino must offer deposit, loss and time limits, time-outs and self-exclusion, and raising a limit always comes with a waiting period while lowering one is immediate. You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario to play. If gambling stops being fun, free and confidential help is available around the clock from ConnexOntario on 1-866-531-2600; more on our responsible gambling page.
Frequently asked questions
Which Ontario casinos accept a $5 deposit?
Betano, Caesars Palace Online, PointsBet and PartyCasino start at $5, and Betty and Lucky Days accept any amount from $1. All six are on the iGaming Ontario register. Most other registered casinos we review start at $10, some at $20.
Can I deposit $5 with Interac?
Yes, at Betano, Caesars Palace Online and PointsBet, and at Betty and Lucky Days, which start at $1. At Betano the $5 applies to its Interac route; the Interac e-Transfer request option starts at $10.
Can I deposit $5 with PayPal?
Yes, at Caesars Palace Online and PointsBet, which both also pay out to PayPal. Betano accepts PayPal from $10. No registered Ontario casino we review takes PayPal below $5.
Can I withdraw $5 from an Ontario casino?
Yes. Caesars Palace Online and Betty pay out from $1, and PointsBet from $5. Betano and Lucky Days need $10, Lucky Days only after the deposit is wagered once. PartyCasino publishes no withdrawal minimum.
Are $5 deposit casinos in Ontario safe?
The six casinos on this page are registered with iGaming Ontario and regulated by the AGCO, like every casino we review. The size of the minimum deposit says nothing about safety; the register does.
Is $5 or $10 a better place to start?
$5 is enough if you choose a casino whose withdrawal floor is $5 or lower: Caesars, Betty or PointsBet. If you want more choice, $10 opens 29 of the 51 registered casinos we review and nearly every payment method.
How we checked these figures
For each casino we used the source the operator itself maintains, and noted where two of its pages disagree:
- Betano: the deposit and withdrawal tables in its Ontario help centre.
- Caesars Palace Online: its payments and support pages, including the Interac e-Transfer section.
- PointsBet: the live configuration of its Ontario site for the $5 minimum, and its help centre for withdrawal timings.
- PartyCasino: the cashier shown in its own app-store materials, and its help centre for payout times.
- Betty and Lucky Days: Betty’s help centre and game pages; the Lucky Days homepage, terms and cashier panel.
Every minimum on this page was read for this article from the operator’s own help centre, terms, payments page, cashier or site configuration, from an Ontario connection, and checked against the iGaming Ontario register. Where an operator’s pages disagree, as PointsBet’s do on Interac payout times, we say so. Minimums that appear only in promotional terms are not counted. The roulette probabilities are our own calculation. Our scoring method is on how we review Ontario casinos, and we re-check these minimums whenever we update a review.
