Is GGPoker Legal in Ontario?
Yes. GGPoker is on the iGaming Ontario register at ggpoker.ca, approved for both poker and casino. The operator is NSUS Limited, registered with the AGCO under number OPIG1231707. GGPoker.ca launched in 2022 and serves Ontario only. You must be 19 or older and physically in the province to play for real money. More on how the market works in our guide to Ontario’s online gambling rules.

GGPoker.ca is not GGPoker.com
The site you reach from Ontario is a separate, Ontario-only room. It runs the same software as the global GGPoker network, so the tables, Smart HUD and PokerCraft look and work the same. The player pool is different, though. Ontario is ring-fenced: you only sit with other players located in the province. Every amount in the lobby, from blinds to guarantees, is in Canadian dollars.
That matters for what you can play. Big international fields, round-the-clock high-stakes cash games and the rarer formats depend on traffic that one province cannot always supply. Ontario is still large enough for a full WSOP bracelet series and festivals with seven-figure guarantees, as the tournament section below shows.
Will Ontario share player pools with the rest of the world?
Not yet. In November 2025 the Ontario Court of Appeal found that the province could legally allow its players to join peer-to-peer games, poker included, with players outside Canada. That decision is under appeal at the Supreme Court of Canada, which heard the case on 7 October 2026 and reserved judgment, and nothing changes until the case is settled and Ontario chooses to act. Alberta opened its own regulated market in July 2026, and the two provinces have discussed sharing poker liquidity. No shared pool is live today, and no date has been set.

GGPoker Ontario Poker Games

The Ontario lobby has four families of games. Cash games come in No Limit Hold’em (six-max), Pot Limit Omaha and five-card PLO. Tournaments run every day. Then there are two formats built by GGPoker itself: All-In or Fold and Spin & Gold. Play-money tables for Hold’em, PLO, All-In or Fold and Spin & Gold sit alongside the real-money ones. Their chips have no cash value and cannot be used anywhere else.
| Format | Games | Stakes or buy-ins in Ontario |
|---|---|---|
| Cash games | No Limit Hold’em (6-max), PLO, PLO-5 | $0.01/$0.02 to $25/$50 |
| All-In or Fold | Hold’em, 8 big blinds, shove or fold every hand | Several blind levels |
| Spin & Gold | 3-max sit & go with a random prize multiplier | $0.25 to $200 |
| Tournaments | Freezeouts, re-entries, bounties, hypers, deep stacks, PLO | From $1; WSOP events up to $1,500 |
| Play money | Hold’em, PLO/PLO-5, All-In or Fold, Spin & Gold | Free chips, no cash value |
Cash games
Hold’em runs from $0.01/$0.02 to $25/$50, with default buy-ins from 50 cents to $1,000. PLO goes from $0.01/$0.02 to $10/$20 and PLO-5 to $5/$10. Each game uses one standard 52-card deck, shuffled after every hand. If your connection drops, chips you have already put in the pot stay in play. The client adds straddles, a table-move button and Card Squeeze, the slow reveal of your hole cards.
All-In or Fold
All-In or Fold strips Hold’em down to one decision. You sit down with eight big blinds, and on every hand you either shove or fold. It is fast and very simple to learn, and the margin between good and bad decisions is narrow. Two optional side features, the All-In or Fold Jackpot and All-In Fortune, carry their own fees on top of the rake. The table on the operator’s page lists them before you sit down.
Spin & Gold: read the odds before you spin
Spin & Gold is a three-handed hyper-turbo whose prize pool is set by a wheel before the first card. The operator publishes the full distribution, which most rooms do not. Here it is for the 3-max tables:

| Multiplier | Winner | 2nd | 3rd | Games per 100 million |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| x40,000 | x20,000 | x12,000 | x8,000 | 50 |
| x100 | x60 | x30 | x10 | 4,000 |
| x50 | x30 | x15 | x5 | 8,000 |
| x10 | x8 | x2 | — | 2,350,000 |
| x5 | x5 | — | — | 2,500,000 |
| x4 | x4 | — | — | 2,650,000 |
| x3 | x3 | — | — | 44,624,100 |
| x2 | x2 | — | — | 47,863,850 |
The headline multiplier comes up once in two million games. The two smallest wheels, x2 and x3, are 92.5% of all games. In those, the winner takes everything and the other two players get nothing. Treat Spin & Gold as a fast, high-variance sit & go, not as a lottery ticket. The operator also sells insurance at the price of the buy-in, which refunds you if the wheel lands on x2.
GGPoker Rake in Ontario
Rake is what the room keeps from each pot, and over a year it costs a regular player more than anything else. GGPoker publishes the full schedule for Ontario. In every cash game the rate is 5%. The cap depends on the stake and on how many players were dealt in. A short-handed pot is capped lower than a full one.
No Limit Hold’em rake caps (6-max)
| Blinds | Default buy-in | Cap, 2 players | Cap, 3 players | Cap, 4 players | Cap, 5+ players |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $0.01/$0.02 | $0.50 | $0.05 | $0.10 | $0.15 | $0.20 |
| $0.02/$0.05 | $1 | $0.13 | $0.25 | $0.38 | $0.50 |
| $0.05/$0.10 | $2 | $0.25 | $0.50 | $0.75 | $1 |
| $0.10/$0.25 | $5 | $0.50 | $1 | $1.50 | $2 |
| $0.25/$0.50 | $10 | $1 | $2 | $3 | $4 |
| $0.50/$1 | $20 | $1.25 | $2.50 | $3.75 | $5 |
| $1/$2 | $40 | $1.50 | $3 | $4.50 | $6 |
| $2/$5 | $100 | $2 (0.4BB) | $4 (0.8BB) | $6 (1.2BB) | $8 (1.6BB) |
| $5/$10 | $200 | $2.50 (0.25BB) | $5 (0.5BB) | $7.50 (0.75BB) | $10 (1BB) |
| $10/$20 | $400 | 0.188BB | 0.375BB | 0.563BB | 0.75BB |
| $25/$50 | $1,000 | 0.125BB | 0.25BB | 0.375BB | 0.5BB |
The pattern is clear in big blinds. At the micro stakes, the cap at a full table is ten big blinds. By $0.50/$1 it is five, at $1/$2 three, and at $25/$50 half a big blind. The rate never changes; the cap shrinks as the stakes rise. Low-stakes players pay the most in relative terms, as they do in every room. That is why the cap at $0.01/$0.02 matters more than the headline 5%.
Pot Limit Omaha rake caps
| Blinds | PLO buy-in | PLO-5 buy-in | Cap, 2 players | Cap, 5+ players |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $0.01/$0.02 | $0.20 | $0.50 | $0.02 | $0.06 |
| $0.02/$0.05 | $0.50 | $1 | $0.04 | $0.15 |
| $0.05/$0.10 | $1 | $2 | $0.08 | $0.30 |
| $0.10/$0.25 | $2.50 | $5 | $0.19 | $0.75 |
| $0.25/$0.50 | $5 | $10 | $0.25 | $1 |
| $0.50/$1 | $10 | $20 | $0.50 | $2 |
| $1/$2 | $20 | $40 | $1 | $4 |
| $2/$5 | $50 | $100 | 0.375BB | 1.5BB |
| $5/$10 | $100 | $200 | 0.375BB | 1.5BB |
| $10/$20 | $200 | Not listed | 0.313BB | 1.25BB |
Up to $2/$5, Omaha is the cheaper game, and not by a little. At $0.50/$1, a full PLO pot is capped at $2 against $5 in Hold’em; at $1/$2, $4 against $6. PLO pots are bigger and reach the cap more often, so the lower cap counts for more. At $5/$10 and above it reverses: PLO is capped at 1.5 and 1.25 big blinds, Hold’em at 1 and 0.75.
Tournaments, the Bad Beat Jackpot and staking
Tournaments carry no rake. There is an entry fee instead, normally a set share of the buy-in, shown in each event’s lobby. One more deduction applies at the cash tables. In Hold’em, PLO and PLO-5, any pot of 30 big blinds or more contributes one big blind to the shared Bad Beat Jackpot before it is paid. The jackpot pays out when a hand such as aces full of tens or better (Hold’em) loses at showdown, with both players using both hole cards. The loser takes 10% of the fund, the winner 3%, and everyone else dealt in 0.8%. Staking, where you sell a share of your tournament action to other players, carries no fee.
GGPoker Ontario Tournaments
Tournaments are GGPoker’s main strength in Ontario. Its parent group, NSUS, bought the World Series of Poker in October 2024, and the Ontario room hosts the province’s official WSOP Online bracelet events.
WSOP Online: eight bracelet events for Ontario
The 2026 WSOP Online series ran from September 13 to October 6, with eight bracelet events open only to players in Ontario. All started at 6 PM Eastern.
| Event | Buy-in | Guarantee |
|---|---|---|
| #1 WSOP Ontario Kick-Off | $500 | $250,000 |
| #2 Gladiators of Poker Ontario (bounty) | $300 | $300,000 |
| #3 Monster Stack NLH (2 days) | $1,500 | $300,000 |
| #4 Colossus | $400 | $400,000 |
| #5 Ultra Stack NLH (2 days) | $600 | $300,000 |
| #6 PLOssus (bounty) | $400 | $200,000 |
| #7 The Closer NLH Bounty Turbo | $525 | $200,000 |
| #8 WSOP Ontario Main Event | $1,000 | $1,000,000 |
That is $2.95 million guaranteed across eight events in one province. The room also runs WSOP Super Circuit Online events for Circuit rings, and satellites into selected live WSOP events.
GG Ontario Festival and the weekly schedule
Outside the WSOP, the biggest series is the GG Ontario Festival. The 2026 edition ran from May 3 to June 9 with $8 million guaranteed, which the operator calls the largest in Ontario poker history. It was split into three tiers, so a $3 player and a $150 player each had their own schedule. Other series through the year include the microFestival, the Bounty Hunters Series and the Winter Giveaway Series.
Every week has two Sunday flagships. Ontario MILLION$ costs $50, guarantees $100,000, has several flights during the week and a final day on Sunday at 8:30 PM. GGMasters is a $150 freezeout with a $50,000 guarantee, every Sunday at 5 PM. Each day there is also a set of guaranteed events, larger on Sundays:
| When (Eastern) | Event | Buy-in | Guarantee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mon–Sat 15:05 | Hundred Stack | $100 | $3,000 |
| Mon–Sat 17:05 | Daily Deepstack | $200 | $5,000 |
| Mon–Sat 18:05 | Fifty Stack | $55 | $4,000 |
| Mon–Sat 21:05 | Lucky Sevens Superstack Turbo | $77 | $2,000 |
| Sun 15:05 | Sunday Hundred Stack | $100 | $10,000 |
| Sun 16:05 | Sunday Deepstack | $250 | $10,000 |
| Sun 18:05 | Sunday Fifty Stack | $55 | $5,000 |
| Sun 21:05 | Sunday Lucky Sevens Turbo | $77 | $5,000 |
Several have a mini version at about a tenth of the buy-in, and the daily hypers start at $1, so the schedule works for small bankrolls as well as for regulars.

GGPoker Software and Features
GGPoker builds its own software, and the Ontario client has the same tools as the global one. Four of them change how you play.
| Feature | What it does | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Smart HUD | Stats on every opponent at the table, from your own hand history | Free |
| PokerCraft | Your results, hand history and leak analysis by game type | Free |
| EV Cashout | Take the expected value of an all-in hand instead of running it out | Free |
| Staking | Sell or buy shares of tournament action in the lobby | No fees |
Smart HUD and PokerCraft
Most rooms either ban third-party trackers or leave you to buy one. GGPoker puts a tracker in the client for everyone. Tap an opponent’s avatar and Smart HUD shows their tendencies. In tournaments it shows their total winnings and leaderboard rank; in All-In or Fold, their shoving ranges. Because every player has the same tool, nobody gets an edge from paid software. PokerCraft is the other half: it charts your own results by game and stake and lets you replay hands.
EV Cashout

When players are all in and the cards are face up after the flop, anyone with more than 60% equity in a pot over 20 big blinds is offered their expected value in cash. Accept it and you are paid the same whatever the turn and river bring, but you give up the pot. It works in Hold’em and PLO. It does not change the long-run maths; it cuts the swings. That suits a player on a short bankroll.
Staking
After registering for a tournament you can sell up to 100% of your action at a mark-up you set. Shares are sold in steps of 10% below $26, 1% up to $4,999.99 and 0.1% above that. Other players buy from the staking panel and receive their share of any prize. If the seller unregisters or the event is cancelled, backers are refunded.
GGPoker Casino Games in Ontario
GGPoker.ca is registered for casino as well as poker, but the casino is not on the website. It lives inside the client and the app, behind the Casino and Slots tabs, once you are logged in. We read the rules and the Ontario help centre for this section; the lobby itself is only visible with an account.
| Section | What is in it |
|---|---|
| Slots | Video slots, with feature buys where Ontario rules allow them |
| Table games | Blackjack, roulette, baccarat, craps, sic bo, video poker, Slingo and arcade games |
| Live dealer | Blackjack, single-zero roulette, baccarat, craps and sic bo |
| GG99 | A set of games configured to 99% RTP |
| Casino tournaments | Tournaments played on casino games |
GG99: games set to 99% RTP
The most interesting part of the casino is GG99, a group of games that the operator configures to a 99% return to player, a 1% house edge. Most slots sit between 92% and 96%. The list includes Classic, Infinite and Premium Baccarat, Classic and Premium Blackjack, Blackjack Surrender, Lucky Blackjack, Casino Poker, Infinite NiuNiu and four video poker games: Jacks or Better, Joker Poker, Deuces Wild and Double Double Bonus. There are also three crash and mines games, Shark Crash, Chicken Crash and Hyper Mines. To compare, see our list of the highest-RTP slots in Ontario.
Stakes and rules worth knowing
The lowest bet in the casino is $0.01, on single-line slots. Most video slots start at $0.25 to $0.50 a spin. RNG blackjack and roulette start at $0.10 to $1, and live tables at $0.50 to $5. The live roulette is European, with a single zero. There is no demo mode: play money exists only at the poker tables, so every casino spin is for real money. If you disconnect mid-round, slots hold your bet for 30 days, RNG table games pause, and live bets are settled while you are away. You can check the result in the game history.
Read the casino as a side room for poker players. If you want a large slot lobby and a big live floor first, look at our guides to live dealer games in Ontario and online blackjack in Ontario.
The GGPoker Ontario App
You can play on Windows, Mac, Android and iOS, with downloadable clients for each. On phones the app runs in portrait, so you can play with one hand, and it has the full lobby, the casino and the cashier.

|---|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 10, 3 GHz CPU, 2 GB RAM, 3 GB disk | Windows 11, Core i3 or better, 4 GB RAM, 10 GB disk |

| Android | Android 10, 2 GB RAM, 500 MB free | 3 GB RAM, 1 GB free |
| iOS | iOS 15, 500 MB free | 3 GB RAM, 1 GB free |
| Store | App | Rating | Reviews |

| App Store (Canada) | GGPoker Ontario: Poker Games | 4.4 / 5 | 2,754 |
| Google Play | GGPoker Ontario | 2.8 / 5 | 401 (100,000+ downloads) |
The two stores tell different stories. The iPhone app, live since September 29, 2022, scores 4.4 from more than two thousand ratings. The Android app scores 2.8 from about four hundred reviews, though it is updated regularly, most recently at the start of October 2026. How to Join GGPoker Ontario
You cannot play for real money until your identity is checked, so it pays to do it in the right order. Deposits, real-money play and anything that involves a wager stay locked until verification is complete. Before your first game you are also asked to confirm that you are fit to play.
- Download the client for Windows or Mac from ggpoker.ca/download, or the GGPoker Ontario app from the App Store or Google Play.
- Create your account from inside the client or the app.
- Verify your identity. GGPoker first tries automatic verification through TransUnion. If that does not match, you can use the GID method or upload documents for a manual check.
- Set your limits in the Responsible Gaming tab before you deposit.
- Deposit from the Cashier button on desktop or the “+” button at the top right on mobile.
Two details save trouble later. Deposit with the method you want to be paid back to, because of the closed-loop rule below. And remember that your location is checked whenever you try to bet, and at intervals while you play: outside Ontario you are blocked, even with a verified account.
GGPoker Payments in Ontario
Deposits and withdrawals happen in the cashier, inside the client. The cashier shows the methods available in Ontario once you are logged in. The Ontario help centre has guides for these:
| Method | Deposit | Withdrawal |
|---|---|---|
| Interac | Yes | Yes, by e-Transfer |
| Visa / Mastercard debit | Yes | Yes, $10 minimum, card must accept credits |
| PayPal | Yes | Yes |
| Skrill | Yes | Yes |
| Neteller | Yes | Yes |
| MuchBetter | Yes | Yes |
| LuxonPay | Yes | Yes |
How long withdrawals take
Every withdrawal first goes through an internal audit for fraud and money-laundering checks. Then the money is sent and the payment provider takes its own time.
| Stage | Usual time | Longest stated |
|---|---|---|
| Internal audit at GGPoker | Under 24 hours | 72 hours at busy times |
| E-wallets (PayPal, Skrill, Neteller, MuchBetter) | About 1 hour | 72 hours |
| Interac e-Transfer | Straight to your bank with AutoDeposit | Contact support after 24 hours |
| Bank and card | 1 to 5 business days | 10 days |
So an e-wallet withdrawal can reach you within a day; a card withdrawal can take a week. Set up Interac AutoDeposit and the e-Transfer goes straight to your bank without a security question. Compare with the quickest-paying casinos in Ontario.
Fees, limits and the rules on the way out
Your first withdrawal each calendar month is free. Every later request that month costs $1. The free withdrawal resets on the first of the month, counted in UTC. Limits depend on the method and are shown before you confirm. Larger requests may be split into several payments, but the fee stays the same.
Three rules are worth knowing before you deposit. GGPoker runs a closed loop: money goes back to the method it came from, split between them if you used more than one. Anything above your deposits goes to your main method of the last six months. Deposits also need sufficient gameplay before they can be withdrawn; the operator does not publish the amount. And many credit cards refuse incoming gaming payments, so plan to withdraw by Interac or an e-wallet. You can cancel a request until it reaches review. See also Ontario Interac casinos and PayPal casinos in Ontario.

GGPoker Customer Support
Support is by email at help@ggpoker.ca and live chat, both 24 hours a day, every day; the operator also mentions phone support during set hours. The help centre at help.ggpoker.ca is large and well organised. It covers account, cashier, poker, casino, technical and responsible gaming topics, with a step-by-step guide for each payment method.
For withdrawals above a provider’s maximum, email cashier@ggpoker.com from your registered address to arrange a manual payment. If a complaint is not resolved through GGPoker’s own procedure, you can take it to iGaming Ontario with the case file the operator gives you. Accounts with no deposits, withdrawals or bets for 12 months become dormant, and any balance is returned to your last deposit method.
Is GGPoker Safe?
Yes. Beyond the AGCO registration, the Ontario platform is tested and certified by BMM Testlabs, an independent lab, under ISO/IEC 17065. Player money is held in a segregated bank account on behalf of, and for the sole benefit of, iGaming Ontario. It is not an asset of the company and cannot be used for operating costs. Your identity is checked before you can deposit. TransUnion can often verify you automatically in the client; if not, you upload documents.
Poker brings risks that a casino does not: collusion, bots and multi-accounting. GGPoker has published rules on all of them. One person may hold only one account. Anti-ratholing rules stop you leaving a cash table with a big stack and coming back with a small one. Its security team uses its own detection tools and can close accounts and withhold winnings won by cheating.
Responsible Gambling at GGPoker
The tools are in the Responsible Gaming tab of your profile, and most take effect at once:
| Tool | Options | How changes work |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit limit | 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days | Lower at once; higher after 24 hours |
| Loss limit | 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days | Lower at once; higher after 24 hours |
| Reality check | Every 1, 2, 4 or 6 hours | Reminder of session time until you log out |
| Break in play | 1, 7, 30, 60 or 90 days | No bets during the break |
| Self-exclusion | 6 months, 1 year or 5 years | Cannot be reversed |
| BetGuard | All regulated Ontario sites | Run by iGaming Ontario, 1-833-776-7171 |
Self-exclusion applies immediately from the client or website, or within 24 hours by email. You cannot open a new account during it, and coming back afterwards means contacting support and a 24-hour cooling-off period. If gambling stops being fun, ConnexOntario offers free, confidential help around the clock at 1-866-531-2600. More in our guide to responsible gambling and BetGuard.
GGPoker vs Other Ontario Operators
GGPoker is a poker room first and a casino second. Most Ontario brands are the other way round. Compared with casino-first operators such as BetMGM or 888 Casino, it gives you more poker: WSOP bracelets, a deeper tournament schedule, free tracking tools and a full published rake table. What you give up is a casino lobby you can browse before you sign up, and demo play.
| If you want | GGPoker fits? | Why |
|---|---|---|
| WSOP bracelets without leaving Ontario | Yes | Eight Ontario bracelet events in 2026 |
| Low rake at Omaha | Yes | PLO capped at $2 at $0.50/$1, against $5 in Hold’em |
| Fast, simple poker | Yes | All-In or Fold and Spin & Gold |
| Huge international fields | Not yet | Ontario is ring-fenced |
| A large slot lobby to try for free | No | No demo mode; casino is a side room |
Five Things to Check Before Your First Deposit
- That you are on ggpoker.ca, not the international .com site.
- That your deposit method can also take withdrawals. Interac or an e-wallet is safer than a credit card.
- That you know the rake cap at your stake. It is in the tables above.
- That you have planned your withdrawals. The first one each month is free and later ones cost $1.
- That your deposit and loss limits are set before you play.
How We Reviewed GGPoker Ontario
We read ggpoker.ca from a Toronto connection for this review. That covered the terms and conditions, house rules, withdrawal policy, responsible gaming page, every game and tournament page, and the full rake tables, including the stake levels hidden behind tabs. We also read the Ontario help centre for the cashier, casino and game integrity. App figures come from the Canadian App Store and Google Play, and the registration from the iGaming Ontario register. We did not open a funded account, so the casino lobby itself is described from the operator’s rules rather than counted.

FAQ’s – Frequently Asked Questions
- Is GGPoker legal in Ontario?
Yes. GGPoker is on the iGaming Ontario register at ggpoker.ca and is operated by NSUS Limited under AGCO registration OPIG1231707. You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario to play.
- Can Ontario players play against GGPoker players from other countries?
No. GGPoker Ontario is ring-fenced, so you only play against people located in Ontario. A court case on international shared liquidity is at the Supreme Court of Canada, and no shared pool is live.
- How much rake does GGPoker charge in Ontario?
The rate is 5% in every cash game, with a cap that depends on stake and players dealt in. At $0.50/$1 a full Hold’em pot is capped at $5 and a PLO pot at $2. Tournaments charge an entry fee, not rake.
- How long do GGPoker withdrawals take?
GGPoker’s audit usually takes under 24 hours, up to 72. E-wallets then arrive in about an hour; bank and card payouts take one to five business days. The first withdrawal each month is free, later ones cost $1.
- Does GGPoker Ontario have casino games?
Yes. Inside the client and app there are slots, table games and live dealer games, plus GG99, a set of table, video poker and arcade games set to 99% RTP. There is no demo mode.

GGPoker Ontario earns 4.2 out of 5. For poker it is hard to beat in the province. It hosts Ontario’s WSOP Online bracelet events, runs a deep daily and weekly tournament schedule, and gives every player a free HUD, results tracking and EV Cashout. The rake schedule is published in full, and Omaha is cheaper than Hold’em at every stake up to $2/$5.
Its limits come from geography more than design. Ontario’s pool is ring-fenced, so late-night and high-stakes action is thinner than on the global site. The casino is a side room with no demo mode, the Android app rates far below the iPhone one, and each withdrawal after the first in a month costs $1.
Choose GGPoker if poker is your main game, especially tournaments. If you mainly play slots or live casino, a casino-first operator will serve you better.
