Yes. PowerPlay is authorised to operate in Ontario. The operator is listed in the iGaming Ontario register as Trillium Ventures Limited (dba) PowerPlay, with one approved site — listed there as Play Power Play — covering both casino and sports betting.

That register is the thing worth checking. It lists 49 operators and 84 gaming websites, and PowerPlay’s single entry points to one address only: on.powerplay.com.

On a registered site your account, your funds and any dispute fall under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. On a grey-market site they do not, however familiar the branding looks.

You must be 19 or older and physically inside Ontario to play. This one is stricter than most about it: from outside the province the site does not show you a lobby at all, just a notice reading “Available in Ontario only — our services are only available to players physically located in Ontario, as required by provincial regulations.”

How to Check You Are on the Real PowerPlay Site

This brand needs more care than most, because two different companies operate a casino called PowerPlay and only one of them is regulated here. Four checks separate them, and all four are visible before you create an account.

What to check What you should see
Domain on.powerplay.com — the on stands for Ontario
Registered operator Trillium Ventures Limited, named in the iGO register
Regulator named on site iGaming Ontario and the AGCO, never a Curacao licence
Behaviour from outside Ontario A blocking notice, not a playable lobby

The bare domain powerplay.com is not the Ontario casino. If the page you are on names a Curacao licence anywhere in its footer, you have the wrong PowerPlay.

Two PowerPlays, Two Companies

Most Ontario casinos run a single company behind one brand. PowerPlay does not, and the distinction is unusually sharp.

The Ontario casino is operated by Trillium Ventures Limited, a Malta-registered company whose address appears on its own app store listings as Level 0, Suite 1010, Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa, St Julian’s. That is the entity in the iGO register, and the one the AGCO holds responsible.

The PowerPlay serving the rest of Canada is a different company entirely. Its footer names Deck Entertainment B.V., incorporated in Curacao under company number 144851 and licensed by the Curacao Gaming Authority under licence OGL/2024/999/0482, with a payment processor registered in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Operating company Trillium Ventures Limited (Malta) Deck Entertainment B.V. (Curacao)
Regulator AGCO, via iGaming Ontario Curacao Gaming Authority
Who it serves Ontario only Every other province and territory
Your protections Ontario standards, AGCO complaints route Offshore terms, no AGCO recourse

The offshore site makes the split explicit in its own footer, which offers province pages for Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland & Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon and Nunavut. Ontario is the one province deliberately missing from that list, because Ontario players are meant to be on the registered site instead.

One loose thread is worth knowing about. The Google Play listing for the Ontario app gives its developer website as powerplay.com/ontario — an address that returns a 404 page on the offshore site. Nothing about that is dangerous, but a player following the official link from the store lands on the wrong company’s error page rather than the regulated casino.

PowerPlay Ontario Casino Games

PowerPlay advertises “over 1,000 games” in both app stores, and counting the casino section of the operator’s own sitemap gets you to a similar place: roughly 1,160 titles, split as below. Lobbies change week to week, so read these as a snapshot rather than a fixed figure.

Category What is in the Ontario lobby
Slots Over 1,000 titles, the bulk of the catalogue
Blackjack Around 55 games, including a deep Playtech table range
Roulette Around 36 games: European, French, American and branded
Live dealer Around 35 rooms across Playtech and Pragmatic Play
Baccarat 10 tables, including speed and Fortune 6 variants
Poker and table games A short list: Casino Hold’em, 3 Card Brag, Dragon Tiger, Sic Bo

The shape of that catalogue tells you who PowerPlay buys from. This is a Playtech house first and a Pragmatic Play house second, with a thinner tail of other studios than you get at the largest Ontario casinos. There are no in-house exclusive slots and no proprietary jackpot network, which is the clearest gap against BetMGM or bet365.

Slots

Slots are the overwhelming majority of the lobby. The Playtech families are all present — the Age of Gods series, the Cash Collect mechanic that runs across dozens of titles, and the Power Combo line including licensed names like Spies: Operation Fortune and RoboCop. For where these titles sit on published return, see how slot RTP varies across Ontario.

Pragmatic Play supplies the other pillar: Big Bass, Wisdom of Athena, Starlight Princess, Wild Wild Bananas and the rest of the studio’s headline catalogue. Games Global classics such as Thunderstruck and Immortal Romance fill in behind them.

Where to start: the Drops and Wins shelf, which is Pragmatic’s network promotion and gathers that studio’s best-known titles in one place. It is the fastest way to see whether this lobby suits you.

A note on RTP. PowerPlay does not publish return-to-player figures in its lobby the way some Ontario operators do, so you are relying on the studio’s own numbers per title. RTP is a long-run average measured over millions of spins, never a promise about your session.

Progressive Jackpots

This is the clearest weak spot. PowerPlay has no house jackpot network of its own — nothing equivalent to MGM Grand Millions or bet365’s in-house pools. What you get instead are the network jackpots that come bundled with its two main suppliers, chiefly the Age of Gods pools from Playtech.

Where to start: the Age of Gods series, since that is where Playtech’s shared progressive money actually sits. If a large in-house jackpot is what you are shopping for, this is not the Ontario casino that has one.

Slingo and Instant Wins

Here is where PowerPlay is genuinely unusual. The lobby carries more than 40 Slingo titles — the slots-and-bingo hybrid — which is a far deeper shelf than most Ontario casinos bother with, including versions built around Lucky Larry’s Lobstermania, Space Invaders and Pirates’ Treasure.

Where to start: Slingo XXXtreme or Slingo Super Spin. If you have never played the format, it scores like a bingo card and pays like a slot, and a five-minute session tells you whether it clicks.

Roulette

Around 36 roulette games, and the range is broader than the count suggests. Alongside standard European, French and American wheels there are Playtech’s Quantum Roulette and Mega Fire Blaze Roulette, Pragmatic’s Mega Roulette, and a run of sports-themed wheels — football, rugby and gridiron variants. For the five-second check that tells you what a wheel costs, see how roulette odds work in Ontario.

Where to start: Premium European Roulette. Single zero, no side bets, and the lowest house edge of anything on this shelf. The multiplier wheels are more entertaining and cost you more per spin to play.

Blackjack and Table Games

The blackjack list is deeper than the headline number implies, because it includes Playtech’s full run of numbered live tables — the Azure and Emerald series — alongside Classic Blackjack, Blackjack Plus, Cashback Blackjack and All Bets Blackjack. For what separates a 99% table from an 89% one, see how blackjack returns compare in Ontario.

Beyond blackjack the table selection is honestly thin: ten baccarat tables, Casino Hold’em, Jacks or Better, 3 Card Brag, Dragon Tiger and Mega Sic Bo. Compared with the largest Ontario lobbies this is a short menu. We counted the provincial baccarat shelf, commission and all, in our guide to which baccarat bet pays best.

Where to start: Classic Blackjack. The plainest rule set on the list, and the one where basic strategy actually earns you the edge it is supposed to.

Live Dealer Casino

Around 35 live rooms, and they come from two studios rather than the usual three or four. Playtech supplies Quantum Roulette, Mega Fire Blaze, Buffalo Blitz Live Slots, Infinite Blackjack and Unlimited Blackjack. Pragmatic Play supplies its own blackjack, roulette and baccarat lobbies plus Mega Wheel, Power Blackjack and Sette e Mezzo.

Notably absent: Evolution, the studio that anchors the live floor at most large Ontario casinos. If your live play revolves around Evolution’s tables and game shows, that absence will matter more to you than the total count does.

Where to start: Infinite Blackjack, because unlimited seating means you never wait for a chair at a busy hour.

Game Shows

The game show shelf is small but real, and it is Playtech and Pragmatic doing the work again: Adventures Beyond Wonderland, Deal or No Deal: The Big Draw, Snakes and Ladders Live, The Money Drop Live and Spin a Win from Playtech, with Sweet Bonanza Candyland, Mega Wheel and Vegas Ball Bonanza from Pragmatic.

Where to start: Sweet Bonanza Candyland, the most forgiving of the format for a first try, with the lowest minimum stakes on the shelf.

Software Providers

PowerPlay’s own app store listing names its suppliers as “Playtech and Golden Rock Studios, with many more coming soon”, and the lobby bears that out with Pragmatic Play as the clear second pillar. What you will not find is the twenty-studio spread that the biggest Ontario casinos advertise.

Where to start: decide whether you are a Playtech player. If Age of Gods and Cash Collect are titles you seek out, this lobby is built for you. If you came for Evolution live tables or NetEnt slots, look elsewhere in the province.

The PowerPlay App on iOS and Android

PowerPlay ships one app for both casino and sportsbook, and it is worth being straight about the numbers: this is one of the smallest app audiences among Ontario’s registered casinos.

The App Store listing in October 2026: 3.6 from 104 ratings, rated 18+, and filed under Sports rather than Casino.
Under 200 ratings across both stores is a very small sample, and it cuts both ways: about 3.7 is a respectable score, if a slipping one — both stores stood at 3.8 in August — but it rests on far less evidence than the four-figure rating counts at BetMGM or DraftKings. Both apps are actively maintained.

Two details are worth flagging because they are factual and easy to verify. Both stores classify the app as 18+, while the legal age to play in Ontario is 19; the Google Play description states the 19 requirement correctly, so this is a store metadata mismatch rather than a rule the operator applies. The App Store description has been cut back to a single promotional paragraph that no longer mentions the age at all, nor any helpline; in August it at least pointed to a help service, if a UK one. The Google Play description still points to ConnexOntario, which is the one to use.

The recurring complaints in store reviews concern withdrawal approvals and account restrictions. To the operator’s credit, it replies to those reviews publicly rather than leaving them unanswered.

Barely a hundred ratings on either platform is a thin basis for a score. See it against the better-sampled apps in our Ontario casino app comparison.

How to Sign Up and Log In at PowerPlay Ontario

  1. Open on.powerplay.com and confirm the page loads a lobby rather than the “Available in Ontario only” notice — that notice means you are outside the province.
  2. Register with your legal name, date of birth and address — they must match your ID, because the account is verified against it.
  3. Confirm you are 19+ and physically in Ontario. Location is checked at login, not just at signup.
  4. Set your deposit and time limits before you fund the account. Do it first; it is far easier than changing them later.
  5. If you are installing the app, take it from the App Store or Google Play — not from the developer website link on the Play listing, which points to a page that no longer exists.

One account covers both the casino and the sportsbook, so there is nothing separate to open if you want both.

PowerPlay Payments and Withdrawals in Ontario

PowerPlay handles Canadian dollars natively and lists seven methods on its payment page: Interac, Visa, Mastercard, MuchBetter, Paysafecard, Google Pay and Apple Pay. That page, like the rest of the site, only opens from inside Ontario — we read it from Toronto — and it is properly done: every limit and timing is published, method by method. We previously wrote that none of this was published; that was true only from outside the province.

Method Deposit Withdrawal (per 24 hours)
Interac $10–$3,000 $10–$3,000, instant once processed
Visa and Mastercard $10–$5,000 $10–$5,000, instant once processed
MuchBetter $10–$5,000 $10–$3,000, then 3–5 business days at MuchBetter
Paysafecard $10–$250 No — deposit only
Google Pay $20–$3,000 No
Apple Pay $20–$3,000 No

From the payment options page, read from Toronto in October 2026. Every deposit is free and instant.

The PowerPlay Ontario withdrawals table, read from Toronto: Interac, MuchBetter, Visa and Mastercard, $10 minimum, $3,000 to $5,000 per 24 hours
The withdrawals tab. Only three of the seven deposit methods can take money back.

PowerPlay says it aims to process a withdrawal in under four hours, and within 24 at most; Interac and cards then land straight away, while MuchBetter adds three to five business days of its own. The terms add the ceilings: $20,000 a day, $100,000 a week, and no more than two withdrawals in any 24 hours. Winnings are capped at $100,000 a week and at $50,000 on any single casino round — caps that only matter at the very top, but are worth knowing before a large jackpot.

One thing to plan for: if you fund the account by Google Pay, Apple Pay or Paysafecard, none of those can be paid back to, so set up Interac or a card before your first withdrawal.

Withdrawal approvals are the single most common complaint in this operator’s app store reviews. The usual cause across Ontario casinos is identity verification rather than the payment method: registered operators must confirm who you are before releasing funds. Upload your ID the day you register, not the day you cash out.

PowerPlay Ontario Customer Support

This is where PowerPlay beats most of the province. Support runs through live chat and email at support@powerplay.com, and unlike BetMGM, bet365 or most other Ontario casinos, there is a published telephone line — in fact two. The support panel on the Ontario site shows +1 249 444 1331, an Ontario number; the terms and the Google Play listing give the toll-free +1 833 578 1331. PowerPlay states that support is open 24/7, and recommends live chat for the quickest answer.

Complaints go through chat or email only, and must be raised within three months of the incident. The terms promise a decision within 90 days — a long window by provincial standards — and that clock stops if you take more than seven days to answer a request for information. No independent adjudicator is named before iGaming Ontario. The wider route is in our guide to legal online gambling in Ontario.

A phone number is a genuine advantage. Chat queues are fine for a password reset and much less fine for a disputed withdrawal, and the ability to speak to someone is rarer in this market than it should be.

Is PowerPlay Safe? Licence, Security and Reputation

On the criteria that matter, PowerPlay Ontario is a legitimate, regulated operator. Trillium Ventures Limited appears in the iGaming Ontario register, the site operates under AGCO standards, and Ontario’s player protections apply to your account.

We searched the AGCO’s published enforcement records and the trade press for monetary penalties against both PowerPlay and Trillium Ventures Limited, and found none. That is a clean record in a market where several larger operators have been fined.

The platform underneath was rebuilt recently. In March 2025 PowerPlay migrated to Gaming Innovation Group (GiG), taking its casino platform, content management and the SportX sportsbook — a supplier that also powers several other Ontario brands. PowerPlay’s CEO Dean Serrao called the migration “a milestone for PowerPlay as we continue to grow in Ontario.”

The brand is visible locally, too: PowerPlay is the official betting partner of the Ottawa Black Bears of the National Lacrosse League.

What we would weigh against that is scale rather than conduct. Fewer than 200 app ratings and a four-figure download count make this a small operation next to the province’s leaders, and small operations give you less public evidence to judge them by.

Responsible Gambling at PowerPlay Ontario

Every operator registered in Ontario must offer the same core set of player protections, and PowerPlay’s own page sets out how its versions work: daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits, separate loss limits for the casino and the sportsbook, a reality check at an interval you choose, a time-out from 24 hours to three months, and self-exclusion.

Two details are unusual. Once a deposit limit is set it cannot be removed, only changed — so set one you can live with. And the deposit limit is counted net of withdrawals: cash out $100 and you have $100 more room to deposit within the same period, which makes it looser than it looks if you deposit and withdraw often.

Set your limits when you open the account, before you make a first deposit. Limits chosen calmly are more useful than limits chosen after a bad night, and tightening them takes effect immediately while loosening them does not.

Free, confidential help is available in Ontario from ConnexOntario at 1-866-531-2600, 24 hours a day. The site footer carries the same number, and BetGuard, the province-wide self-exclusion, is linked from the top bar.

PowerPlay vs Other Ontario Casinos

PowerPlay BetMGM bet365
Games Around 1,160 Over 2,000 About 2,500
Main studios Playtech, Pragmatic Play Broad, plus in-house Broad, plus in-house
House jackpot network None MGM Grand Millions In-house pools
Phone support Yes No No
App ratings Under 200 Thousands Thousands

The pattern is consistent. PowerPlay is a smaller casino with a narrower supplier base and no exclusives, and it competes on service rather than scale. If you want the deepest lobby in the province, this is not it. If you want a Playtech-led catalogue and a phone number to call when something goes wrong, it makes a real case.

How We Reviewed PowerPlay Ontario

We started with the iGaming Ontario register to confirm the operating entity and the single approved address, then counted the casino catalogue from PowerPlay’s own sitemap rather than repeating a marketing figure. Supplier identification came from the game titles themselves — the Azure and Emerald table series, the Cash Collect and Age of Gods families, Pragmatic’s branded lobbies.

App data was taken from the Google Play and App Store listings directly, including ratings, review counts, age classifications and the developer contact details. The offshore company’s identity was read from its own published footer.

Where PowerPlay does not publish something — minimum deposits, processing times, per-game RTP — we have said so rather than filling the gap with a number from elsewhere.

PowerPlay Ontario earns 3.8 out of 5. It is a properly registered, clean-record Ontario casino that competes on service rather than size.

What we like most is the phone line. Most of the province’s casinos will only give you chat, and being able to call someone about a held withdrawal is worth more than another two hundred slots. The Playtech and Pragmatic catalogue is solid, the Slingo shelf is unusually deep, and one account covers casino and sportsbook.

What holds it back is scale and clarity. There are no house exclusives and no in-house jackpot, Evolution is absent from the live floor, fewer than 200 app ratings is thin evidence to judge an operator by, and a complaint can take up to 90 days to resolve. The brand also shares its name with an offshore casino run by a different company, which puts the burden on you to land on the right domain.
