DraftKings is a casino and sportsbook on one account, registered in Ontario by Crown DK CAN Ltd. and live in the province since 18 May 2022. It builds more of its own games than any other operator here — Rocket at a published 97% RTP, Four 20s Blackjack at under half a percent house edge — and it is the only casino in this review that publishes its jackpot odds. Golden Nugget, on the same register entry, is the same platform with different artwork.

Yes. DraftKings is registered to operate in Ontario. The operating company is Crown DK CAN Ltd., listed in the iGaming Ontario register under both the Casino and Sports Betting categories, and live in the province since 18 May 2022 — six weeks after the regulated market opened on 4 April 2022, not on day one.

That matters for a practical reason. On a registered site your account, your funds and any dispute fall under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. On a grey-market site they do not.

You must be 19 or older and physically inside Ontario to play. One thing DraftKings does not offer here: daily fantasy sports, which it withdrew from Ontario in April 2022 when the regulated market opened and has never brought back.

Who Actually Runs DraftKings in Ontario

The iGaming Ontario operator register showing Crown DK CAN Ltd. and its registered gaming sites

Crown DK CAN Ltd. is the registered entity, and its ultimate parent is DraftKings Inc., listed on Nasdaq. That means audited accounts and public filings behind the brand — not a guarantee about your individual account, but more transparency than most operators in this market offer.

The same register entry carries a second Ontario casino, and it is the detail most reviews miss.

Golden Nugget Is the Same Casino With Different Artwork

Golden Nugget Online Casino is registered under the same operator, Crown DK CAN Ltd. It received its AGCO licence on 12 June 2025 and launched in Ontario on 19 August 2025, making Ontario its fifth market after Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.

The Golden Nugget Online Casino app listing on the Canadian App Store, showing the same build as DraftKings

It is not a second casino. It is the same platform with different artwork, and the re-skinning is not subtle: Golden Nugget Blackjack, Golden Nugget Bingo Blackjack, Golden Nugget European Roulette, Golden Nugget Craps, Golden Nugget Baccarat and GN Rocket are the DraftKings in-house games with a new logo on them. The loyalty programme is shared between the two.

There is a genuine difference, though, and it runs the other way from what you would expect. DraftKings’ own launch announcement credited the Golden Nugget Ontario catalogue with more than 2,000 slot titles — the only official Ontario game count either brand has published. Golden Nugget also carries a handful of titles that do not appear on the DraftKings side, including GN Hyper Strike, Nugget Frenzy, Divine Fortune Megaways and 88 Fortunes.

If you already have a DraftKings account, opening a Golden Nugget one gets you a slightly different slots shelf and the same everything else.

DraftKings Ontario Casino Games

Start with the game count, because the figures in circulation for this province are worthless. They run from “over 300” on DraftKings’ own Ontario page — language left over from the 2022 launch and never updated — to 800, to 3,200. The one figure carrying an operator’s name and a date is the 2,000-plus slots DraftKings credited to Golden Nugget Ontario at launch, and since that is this same platform behind different artwork, it is the number to work from.

DraftKings Ontario casino: Rocket, Hockey Blackjack and a DraftKings-dedicated live blackjack table

What matters more than the total is how much of this lobby DraftKings builds itself, which is more than any rival in the province.

Category What is in the Ontario lobby
Slots Reported between 539 and 2,800 depending on the source — nobody agrees
In-house exclusives Rocket, Dollar UP! and Quakey Shakey, all named for Ontario by the operator
Jackpots DraftKings Jackpots, with odds published specifically for Ontario
Blackjack 30 to 32 variants, most of them built in-house
Roulette 11 to 15 games, including in-house European and American wheels
Live dealer Counts range from 5 to over 100 — see the section below
Providers DraftKings in-house, Evolution, Playtech, NetEnt, IGT, Light & Wonder and around ten more

A regulatory point worth correcting while we are here, because affiliate sites repeat it constantly: the AGCO does not require operators to publish RTP. The Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming require “comprehensive, accurate and understandable information on the odds of winning, payout odds, or returns to players” and that the operator’s advantage be documented — not a percentage on every game tile. DraftKings publishes one RTP figure publicly, for Rocket, and that is more than most.

Slots and the In-House Studio

DraftKings Rocket, the in-house crash game with a published 97% RTP
DraftKings builds a meaningful share of its own catalogue, and three of those games are named for Ontario in the operator’s own announcement: Rocket, Dollar UP! and Quakey Shakey. We counted the whole provincial slot catalogue, studio by studio, in our guide to online slots in Ontario.

Rocket is the standout and the only game on this site with a publicly stated return. It is a crash game built on DraftKings’ own ExitBet technology, with an RTP of 97% and a maximum multiplier of 1,000x. At 97% it beats every slot in this review, including everything at BetMGM and bet365. There is a Rocket 2 as well, and a GN Rocket on the Golden Nugget skin.

Dollar UP! is a three-reel stepper with five fixed paylines and a Cash feature that offers up to four values, of which you can decline the first three — a decision mechanic on a stepper, which is unusual. DraftKings Digits is stranger still: a 5×5 bingo grid drawing 25 balls from 1 to 75, with a progressive jackpot on the full house.

Alongside those sit MINES, Big Rhino, Loki’s Luck, Day Trader, Lucky Linko, Balloon and NHL Slapshot. Third-party slots include the names you would expect: Mega Joker, White Rabbit Megaways, Guns ‘n’ Roses, Blood Suckers 2, Starburst, Cleopatra and Huff N’ Even More Puff.

Where to start: Rocket, at a published 97%. It is the best stated return on the site and one of the best in the province — but it is a crash game, meaning you choose when to cash out, and the RTP assumes you actually do.

DraftKings Jackpots

DraftKings Jackpots, the operator progressive jackpot network available in Ontario
DraftKings runs its own progressive network, and it does something here that no other Ontario casino in this review does: it publishes the odds.

On its Ontario jackpot page, marked ONT, DraftKings states that the odds of winning the jackpot are 1,000,000 to 1. That is a hard, checkable number on a product that almost every operator describes only in adjectives, and it deserves credit even though — or precisely because — it is a sobering figure. The prize referenced is above C$20,000.

The mechanics are stated as clearly:

How it works Detail
Opt-in Required, with the cost disclosed before you join — it is a side bet, not a free extra
Draw Decided by a separate RNG, independent of the base game
Ineligible stakes Wagers placed with site credit do not count
Payout Credited as withdrawable cash
Eligible games Not published on the landing page — the rules document holds the list

A caution about the winner stories. DraftKings advertises “over $700 million in total winnings” and “125 millionaires”, including a record $22.4 million paid in Michigan in November 2025 from a $0.20 stake. Every single documented win on that page is from a United States jurisdiction. We found no verifiable DraftKings jackpot paid in Ontario with an amount and a date attached. Those American figures tell you nothing about the pool an Ontario player is entering.

Blackjack: Four 20s and the In-House Variants

Hockey Blackjack, one of the DraftKings in-house blackjack variants
Blackjack is the deepest and most inventive category here — 30 to 32 variants in Ontario, and the great majority built in-house rather than licensed. That is unusual: most casinos take blackjack off the shelf. We counted every blackjack table in a licensed Ontario catalogue in our guide to online blackjack in Ontario.

Four 20s Blackjack is the one with published mathematics, and they are good. You place five equal bets: four blackjack hands plus a side bet on how many of them land on 20. Eight decks, dealer stands on soft 17, blackjack pays 3:2. Four 20s pays 420:1, three pays 20:1, two pays 4:1, and a single 20 spins a wheel. Independently analysed, the side bet carries a house edge of about 0.42% and the base game 0.43% with basic strategy — both under half a percent, which is as good as casino maths gets.

Bingo Blackjack is the other one worth understanding before you sit down. An extra 20% of your main bet goes on the Bingo activator, which draws two balls per hand: a multiplier and a target hand value between 12 and 21. Hit the target and the multiplier — 2x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x or 100x — replaces the normal payout, including replacing the 3:2 on a blackjack.

Then there is the themed shelf, which is where the Canadian angle lives: Hockey Blackjack, alongside Golf, Soccer, Boardwalk, Vacation and Lunar New Year variants, plus Match the Dealer, Spanish 21, Blackjack Xchange and 777 Blazin’ Blackjack.

Where to start: Four 20s, played with basic strategy. Under 0.43% house edge on both halves of the bet is the best proposition on this site — better than Rocket, and far better than any slot.

Roulette

DraftKings European Roulette, an in-house built roulette game
Between 11 and 15 games depending on the count, and DraftKings builds its own core wheels: DraftKings European Roulette and DraftKings American Roulette.

Take the European one. It has a single zero and a house edge of 2.70%. The American wheel adds a double zero and the edge climbs to 5.26% — the same bet, nearly twice the cost. The two sit side by side in the lobby with nothing to tell you that. We counted the provincial roulette shelf by wheel type in our guide to online roulette in Ontario.

Around them: 100/1 Roulette and Wolf It Up! Roulette 54 from Inspired, Blazing 7s Roulette, Double Bonus Spin Roulette from IGT, and Evolution’s Lightning Roulette, First Person Lightning Roulette, Red Door Roulette and VIP European Roulette.

One caveat on the themed wheels. Touchdown Roulette, March Mania Roulette and NBA Slam Dunk Roulette appear in DraftKings lobbies elsewhere, but they are licensed NFL, NCAA and NBA properties and those rights are granted market by market. Do not count on them being here.

Where to start: European. There is no upside to the American wheel beyond novelty, and it costs roughly twice as much per hour to play.

Table Games

DraftKings Craps, the operator built version of the dice game
Craps is confirmed for Ontario by the operator’s own launch announcement, which listed “blackjack, roulette, and craps” in the provincial catalogue. There is a DraftKings Craps built in-house and Evolution’s First Person Craps alongside it — a game several registered Ontario casinos skip entirely. For which baccarat bet actually pays, see our guide to online baccarat in Ontario.

Baccarat runs to DraftKings Baccarat in software with Speed Baccarat and VIP Baccarat live. House-banked poker is again mostly in-house: Texas Hold’em Showdown and Three Card Showdown are DraftKings’ own, sitting next to Three Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Casino Hold’em, Mississippi Stud, Fortune Pai Gow and Casino Stud.

Video poker is a real category rather than a token one: seven machines in Ontario, covering Triple Play Draw, Five Play, Ten Play, Game King and the Ultimate X variants. Keno and a Slingo shelf round it out.

Where to start: if you have never played craps online, the software version is a cheaper place to learn the bets than a live table with other players waiting.

Live Dealer Casino

A DraftKings-dedicated live blackjack table, run inside an Evolution studio
Here is a fact that several sites still get wrong. DraftKings no longer runs its own live dealer studio. It opened one in 2019 at the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City, built with Evolution, with six tables. It announced the closure in October 2024, cut 101 jobs, and shut the studio on 31 January 2025, moving its live operation to third-party studios. Any review telling you DraftKings streams from its own room is describing something that no longer exists.

What it has instead is dedicated tables — branded rooms inside Evolution and Playtech studios. The distinction is real but narrower than it sounds: the table is exclusive to DraftKings players, the building is not. DraftKings Blackjack 1, 2 and 3, DraftKings High Roller Blackjack (C$100 minimum), DraftKings Crown Suite (C$250 minimum), DraftKings Roulette and DraftKings Speed Baccarat come from Evolution; DK Lounge Blackjack, DK All Bets Blackjack and Live Spanish 21 from Playtech. Bubble Craps Live, from BlackThrone, is a DraftKings exclusive.

For Ontario specifically, Evolution stated on the market’s opening day that licensed operators here are served from its European studios. Its Canadian studio in New Westminster, British Columbia serves the provincial lottery monopolies, not the private operators — so despite the Canadian address, that is not where these tables come from.

How big is the live floor? Smaller than the headline counts suggest. Published figures for Ontario run from five live games to over a hundred, and the gap tells you they are counting different things. The DraftKings-branded tables number about a dozen; everything past that is the shared Evolution and Playtech floor sitting behind them, which is the same floor half the province is playing on. If live dealer play is your reason for choosing a casino, bet365 runs a deeper and more clearly signposted one — 41 blackjack tables, 15 of them own-brand.

Game Shows and Arcade

MINES, one of the DraftKings in-house arcade games
DraftKings does not run game shows as a separate lobby category; they sit inside live dealer. The confirmed titles are Evolution’s Crazy Time — published by the studio at 96.08% RTP, with roughly a one-in-six chance of a bonus round per spin — plus Monopoly Live, Lightning Dice and Playtech’s Adventures Beyond Wonderland.

The arcade shelf is the more interesting half, and it is where the in-house studio earns its place. MINES, Rocket, Balloon, Dig! and Bubble Craps Live are instant-play games with short rounds and, in Rocket’s case, a cash-out decision that puts part of the outcome in your hands. Several Ontario casinos have no arcade category at all.

Worth knowing before you play the game shows: the headline multipliers are the ceiling, not the expectation, and the house edge on the bonus segments is higher than on the base wheel.

Software Providers

The in-house studio is the defining feature of this lobby — the slots, most of the blackjack, the roulette core, the craps and the casino poker carry DraftKings’ own supplier tag rather than a licensed one. No other operator in this review builds that much of its own floor.

Around it sits a broad third-party shelf: Evolution and Playtech for live, with NetEnt, IGT, Light & Wonder, Red Tiger, Big Time Gaming, Games Global, Play’n GO, Hacksaw, Nolimit City, Konami, AGS, Anaxi, Inspired and BlackThrone on slots and specialty games.

One name to treat with suspicion: several sites list Pragmatic Play for DraftKings Ontario, and it appears in no DraftKings lobby. Do not choose this casino for a Pragmatic title without checking the shelf first.

Every studio serving this site is certified for the Ontario market, tested by an independent lab and overseen by the AGCO.

Four DraftKings Apps, One Province

DraftKings runs four apps in the Canadian stores and only three of them work here, which makes the store ratings genuinely confusing to read.

The DraftKings Casino app listing on the Canadian App Store showing its rating and size

DraftKings app (Canada) Rating Works in Ontario?
DraftKings Sportsbook & Casino 4.7 Yes — both products, one balance, 322 MB
DraftKings Casino 4.6 Yes — casino only, 181 MB
Golden Nugget Online Casino 4.6 Yes — the same build, different logo
DraftKings Fantasy Sports 4.8 No — withdrawn from Ontario in April 2022

The DraftKings Fantasy Sports app listing on the Canadian App Store, the one Ontario cannot use

The best-rated and most-reviewed DraftKings app in Canada is the one an Ontario player cannot open. That is worth knowing before you read a star rating and assume it applies to you.

On Google Play the casino app rates 4.7 from about 38,800 reviews — the highest Android score of any casino app in this province, and ahead of BetMGM’s 4.3. The iOS picture is the reverse: 4.6 from roughly 5,800 ratings, against BetMGM’s 38,000-plus. Strong on Android, thinly sampled on iPhone.

One practical advantage worth flagging: the DraftKings apps require only iOS 16.2. BetMGM and Sports Interaction both demand newer versions — Sports Interaction needs iOS 18. If your iPhone is a few years old, this is the Ontario casino most likely to run on it.

The Android score is the highest of any Ontario casino app we found, and the iPhone one rests on a far thinner sample. Both numbers sit in context in our Ontario casino app comparison.

How to Sign Up and Log In at DraftKings Ontario

Registration is the regulated process every Ontario operator runs, but with this brand there is a decision to make before you start: which DraftKings you are opening.

  1. Pick the right app. DraftKings runs four apps in the Canadian stores and the best-rated of them, DraftKings Fantasy Sports, does not work in this province. For casino play you want DraftKings Casino, or DraftKings Sportsbook & Casino if you want both products on one balance.
  2. Check the operator before you register. The Ontario account is run by Crown DK CAN Ltd. and the footer carries 19+ and the iGaming Ontario mark. Anything without them is not the registered product.
  3. Register with your legal name, date of birth and address — they must match your ID, because the account is verified against it before any money leaves.
  4. Confirm you are 19+ and allow the location check. Ontario is verified at every login, not only at signup, so the app will ask for location permission and will not run without it.
  5. Set your deposit and time limits before you fund the account, then upload your photo identification straight away rather than waiting for your first withdrawal. Verification is the most common cause of a delayed first payout here; it costs five minutes now and saves days later.

One account then covers both products. The DraftKings Sportsbook & Casino app carries casino and sportsbook on one balance, with nothing to transfer between them. If you want the casino alone, the standalone app is smaller — 181 MB against 322 MB — and does the same job.

That is the structural argument for this operator over a casino-only brand, and it is the same argument bet365 and Sports Interaction make. The difference is that DraftKings gives you the choice of one app or two.

Logging in afterwards is the ordinary email-and-password affair, with biometric unlock on devices that support it. If a session is refused, it is almost always the location check rather than your password.

DraftKings Payments in Ontario

The cashier covers the rails Ontario players expect: Interac, Visa and Mastercard, online banking and Apple Pay, all in Canadian dollars, so there is no currency conversion on the way in or out.

The most common cause of a delayed first withdrawal is not the payment method — it is identity verification. Ontario-registered operators must confirm who you are before releasing funds, and a name or address that does not match your ID stalls the payout until you send a document. Upload your ID when you open the account rather than when you first cash out. It costs five minutes then and saves days later.

Expect to withdraw to the same method you deposited with, which is standard across the regulated market.

DraftKings Customer Support

Support runs through live chat and a help centre, backed by email. There is no published telephone line for Ontario players.

Responsible Gambling in Ontario

Every registered operator has to offer the same core controls, and since 14 May 2026 the province has one that sits above all of them.

BetGuard is Ontario’s centralised self-exclusion portal, run by iGaming Ontario. One registration at BetGuard.ca closes your access to every regulated gambling site in the province — DraftKings included — and stops their direct marketing. You do not need an existing account to sign up, and you can pick a term of six months, one year, five years or a length of your own.

Control What it does
Deposit limits Daily, weekly or monthly caps, set inside your account
Loss and wager limits Cap what you can stake or lose over the same periods
Time out A short break, hours or days, without closing the account
Operator self-exclusion Applies to DraftKings only — note that Golden Nugget is a separate site under the same operator
BetGuard Province-wide, across every regulated Ontario site, in one step

That fourth row matters here. Because Crown DK CAN runs two Ontario casinos, excluding yourself from DraftKings leaves Golden Nugget open. BetGuard closes both at once.

You must be 19 or older to gamble in Ontario. Free, confidential help is available from ConnexOntario at 1-866-531-2600, or by texting CONNEX to 247247, 24 hours a day.

DraftKings vs Other Ontario Casinos

Choose DraftKings if you want the widest in-house game selection in the province, if Four 20s Blackjack at under 0.43% house edge or Rocket at 97% is the kind of number you play for, or if your iPhone is too old for the other apps. Publishing its jackpot odds is a genuine mark of good faith that no rival here matches.

Choose something else if the live floor is your priority: nobody can tell you how big DraftKings’ Ontario live offer actually is, while bet365 Ontario lets you count its 41 live blackjack tables before you register. BetMGM Ontario is the pick if you want a headline jackpot with documented Ontario winners.

For a broader shortlist, our best Ontario online casinos table ranks every licensed brand with a published review.

DraftKings builds more of its own casino than anyone else in Ontario, and the best of it is genuinely good: Rocket at a published 97%, Four 20s Blackjack at under 0.43% house edge on both halves of the bet, thirty-odd blackjack variants and a craps table most registered rivals do not bother with. It is also the only operator here that publishes its jackpot odds, at 1,000,000 to 1 — a sobering number, and a credit to whoever decided to print it.

The counterweight is the marketing around it. The game totals put about for Ontario range from 300 to 3,200 with nothing to anchor them, and every jackpot winner the brand advertises is American — the record US$22.4 million was won in Michigan, not here.

Open an account here if you play blackjack, if you want casino and sportsbook on one balance, or if your iPhone is too old for the rest. If the live floor is your reason, bet365 runs a deeper one.
