Unibet Casino Ontario
Unibet is a global igaming site with many years of operation in the online gambling industry. The gaming site is part of the renowned igaming brand, Kindred Group, which is popular across Europe for its many gaming products including casino, sports betting, bingo and poker among others. Unibet held a licence from iGaming Ontario and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario until Kindred withdrew from North America in March 2024, and the brand has not been on the register since.
While the Ontario licence was live, the site carried several hundred casino games alongside a sportsbook, spanning slots, blackjack, roulette, jackpots and live dealer tables.
What follows describes that site as it ran between April 2022 and March 2024. It is a record of what was there, not a recommendation: no Ontario player can open a Unibet account under provincial regulation today. The operators that are on the register are on our list of Ontario casinos.
Unibet Casino – How it Works
The Ontario site ran on a green layout, with the main products — casino, live dealer and sports — across the top banner and the games list behind a ‘Casino’ tab. Inside it, the catalogue was split the usual way: slots, blackjack, jackpots and table games.
The same banner held the links to the mobile apps and the help section, and the footer carried the accepted payment methods, the terms and the responsible gambling page.
The on.unibet.ca domain no longer serves an Ontario product. A player in the province who reaches a Unibet site today is on an offshore version of the brand, outside the AGCO framework.

No New Unibet Accounts in Ontario
Registration is closed. Kindred Group announced its exit from North America and wound down the Ontario operation in March 2024; the brand has not appeared on the iGaming Ontario register since, and there is no regulated route to a new Unibet account in the province.
Players who held an account at the time were told to withdraw their balances before the shutdown date. Anyone who still believes they have funds sitting in a closed Ontario account should contact Kindred directly — the AGCO complaints process covers registered operators, and Unibet is no longer one of them.
Sites that still accept Ontario sign-ups under the Unibet name are offshore. They sit outside the provincial framework: no AGCO complaint route, no independently audited game fairness, and no self-exclusion through BetGuard.
Unibet Casino Overview
The Ontario lobby held more than 1,000 games, in real money and demo versions: slots, blackjack, roulette, baccarat and other table and card games. The catalogue was clustered the standard way — new, featured, slots, table games.
It ran on desktop and mobile, though real money play on mobile required the Android or iOS app rather than the browser. Like every registered Ontario operator, it geo-checked that the player was physically in the province before accepting a bet — the same check that now blocks the brand’s other sites from serving Ontario legally.

Casino Games Variety
The Ontario catalogue was broad rather than deep in any one category: classic, Megaways and video slots on one side, blackjack, baccarat and roulette on the other. What follows is what the lobby held at the time it closed.
Unibet Slots
Slots were the largest category, as they are at every Ontario lobby. The front of the section carried titles such as Bonanza, Cleopatra, Gonzo’s Quest and Jumanji.
The progressive jackpot shelf held Divine Fortune, Capital Gains and Bonanza Blast, among others.
Blackjack
Blackjack came in software and live dealer versions: Lightning Blackjack, Zappit Blackjack, Blackjack Surrender, VIP Blackjack and Blackjack Exchange. For what the licensed lobbies hold today, and what those tables actually return, see our count of Ontario casino games.
Roulette
The roulette shelf was thinner: Lightning Roulette and American Roulette in software, plus live dealer versions including a Unibet-branded American table, Immersive Roulette and Lightning Roulette.
Other Specialty Games
Beyond the main three, the lobby carried baccarat, video poker and craps, plus a Slingo shelf with Slingo Extreme, Slingo Riches and Slingo XXXtreme.
Unibet Live Casino
The live casino covered the four standard families — roulette, blackjack, dice and baccarat — with Speed Blackjack, Immersive Roulette, Blackjack VIP and Speed Baccarat among the tables on the floor.

Unibet Casino: Payment Methods

None of these are reachable through Unibet from Ontario today. For what the licensed operators accept and how fast they pay, see our guide to Ontario casino payments.

Unibet Mobile Casino Canada
Mobile play came two ways: a browser version and a downloadable app for iOS and Android. The browser build put sports, casino, live dealer and help in a sidebar, with the game categories across the top of the screen — but real money play was app-only, which was the notable limitation of the Ontario product.
Both apps were pulled from the Canadian stores after the shutdown. For the apps that are still listed and what their store ratings say, see our review of the best Ontario casino apps.

Unibet mobile Games
The mobile catalogue mirrored the desktop one across slots, table and card games, jackpots and live dealer.
The slots shelf carried Starburst, 88 Fortunes, Dancing Drums and Fortune Coin, plus two Unibet exclusives, Jackpot Shores and Candy Blast. On the tables side: Dragon Tiger, Game King Video Poker, Baccarat First Person and Roulette First Person.
Unibet App

The Ontario app was distributed through the Google Play store for Android and the App Store for iPhone and iPad, with a download link on the main site.
It was the only route to real money play on a phone, since the mobile browser build was demo-only. Neither app is available to an Ontario account today.
Customer Support
Support was one of the better parts of the Ontario product: a help section on the main page, live chat around the clock, a Canadian phone line and an email address on the on.unibet.ca domain.
The phone line and the Ontario mailbox were retired with the licence. There is no Ontario support channel for the brand today, and no AGCO route behind it — which is the practical difference between a registered operator and a closed one.
Is Unibet Legal in Ontario? Not Since March 2024
No. Unibet held a registration with iGaming Ontario and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario from the market opening in April 2022, but Kindred Group withdrew from North America in March 2024 and the brand has not been on the register since. We check this against the iGO register, and Unibet is not on it.
What that costs an Ontario player is concrete, not theoretical. A registered operator answers to the AGCO complaints process, has its game fairness independently audited, and is wired into BetGuard, the province-wide self-exclusion system. An offshore site trading under the same brand name has none of the three, and a dispute over a withheld balance has no provincial authority to escalate to.

Security Standards
Under the Ontario licence the site ran SSL encryption on data in transit, offered two-factor authentication on accounts, published responsible gambling guidance with links to help services, and verified identity and age at sign-up.
Those controls belonged to the regulated Ontario product and were auditable because of it. Whatever an offshore site under the same brand claims about its own security, no Ontario regulator is checking it.
You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario to gamble with a registered operator. If gambling is causing harm, ConnexOntario offers free, confidential support 24 hours a day at 1-866-531-2600. See our guide to responsible gambling in Ontario.
