ToonieBet Ontario Casino Review

Is ToonieBet Legal in Ontario?

Yes. ToonieBet is on the iGaming Ontario register of regulated sites under the legal entity Canadix Limited, and the register links to one address: tooniebet.ca.

The site states the rest itself: “Tooniebet.ca is operated by Canadix Limited, with registered address Quad Central, Q3 Level 3, Triq l-Esportaturi, Zone 1, Central Business District, Birkirkara, CBD 1040, Malta. Tooniebet.ca is regulated by iGaming Ontario and Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, with registration number: OPIG1280338.”

Two details are worth knowing before you go looking for that sentence. It is printed in the footer of the inner pages — the help centre, the payments page, the About page — but not on the home page, whose footer stops at the ConnexOntario line. And the register lists 49 operators running 84 sites; ToonieBet is one of them, licensed for casino and sports betting together.

Check	What we found
Ontario operator	Canadix Limited, Birkirkara, Malta
AGCO registration	OPIG1280338, printed on the inner pages
Address on the register	tooniebet.ca
Products	Casino, live casino and sportsbook on one account
Age and location	19+, physically in Ontario, checked at login
AGCO penalties	None found in the regulator’s published releases

On a registered site your account, your money and any dispute sit under the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. That protection belongs to tooniebet.ca — and, as the next section shows, not to everything that carries the ToonieBet name.

Two ToonieBets: tooniebet.ca and tooniebet.com

Search for ToonieBet and the second result is usually tooniebet.com, which calls itself the “Official Tooniebet Online Casino in Canada”. It is not the Ontario casino. Its own footer says so: “Tooniebet Casino is owned and operated by Tobix Limited, with registration number: 022548V, registered address: Third Floor, 34 Hope Street, Douglas, Isle of Man… licensed and regulated by the Tobique Gaming Commission and operates under License No. 000050.”

We read both from two Canadian connections in October 2026. From Toronto, tooniebet.com redirects to tooniebet.ca, which is the system working as intended. From elsewhere in Canada, tooniebet.com stays put and serves Tobix’s site, with a different operator, a different regulator and a different catalogue claim (“3,000+ casino games”). Same name, same gold maple-leaf logo, two businesses.

	tooniebet.ca	tooniebet.com
Operator	Canadix Limited (Malta)	Tobix Limited (Isle of Man)
Regulator	AGCO / iGaming Ontario	Tobique Gaming Commission
On the iGO register	Yes	No
What Ontario players see	The Ontario casino	A redirect to tooniebet.ca

The name has spread further than that. Searches for ToonieBet also return tooniecasino.ca, tooniebetcasino.ca, gettooniebet.ca, toonie.bet and tooniebet.co.com. None of them is on the register. If you are in Ontario, the only address that puts you under AGCO rules is tooniebet.ca — type it, do not click your way to it.

Who Actually Runs ToonieBet

Canadix Limited is a Maltese company, which is the most common home for an Ontario registrant after Ontario itself. The Ontario app is published under the same name on both stores, with a developer contact at a canadixltd.com address, so the operator behind the website and the operator behind the app are the same company — not always true in this province.

ToonieBet is a 2024 arrival: its Ontario iPhone app went live on the Canadian App Store on 6 December 2024. It runs a casino and a sportsbook on one account; the betting side is built on Altenar’s sportsbook platform, quotes American odds and carries live betting on hockey, football, basketball, soccer, tennis, baseball, cricket and table tennis. The brand also leans into Canadian sport off the site: the footer carries the crests of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the Ottawa Redblacks.

The ToonieBet Ontario footer: App Store and Google Play links and two CFL crests.

The ToonieBet Sportsbook

ToonieBet is a casino first in what it promotes and a sportsbook first in how it is built: one account and one balance cover both, and the betting tab sits in the main menu beside the casino. It is worth a short section, because for many Ontario players the sportsbook is the reason to choose one casino over another.

Sports and leagues

Sport	Featured competitions
Football	CFL, NFL, NCAA
Hockey	NHL, KHL
Basketball	NBA, WNBA, NCAAB, Euroleague
Soccer	Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, MLS, World Cup 2026
Baseball	MLB
Tennis	ATP, WTA
Also	Cricket and table tennis

Odds and live betting

Odds are shown in American format by default, and a separate Live Betting tab carries in-play markets. The betting product runs on Altenar’s sportsbook platform, which several European operators also use, rather than on software built by ToonieBet itself.

One account, two products

Because casino and sportsbook share a wallet, any deposit or loss limit you set covers both. That is an advantage for control, and a reason to set the limit deliberately rather than leave the default.

ToonieBet Ontario Casino Games

Game counts for ToonieBet in circulation range from “500+” to “5,000+”, depending on which review you read and when it was written. We counted. Read from Toronto in October 2026, the Ontario All Games list holds 6,023 titles from 88 studios, and the live casino adds no extra titles on top: its 545 tables are already inside that figure.

The ToonieBet Ontario casino lobby, read from Toronto in October 2026.

Section	Titles	What it holds
All games	6,023	Everything in the Ontario catalogue, counted title by title
Slots	4,191	Video slots, Megaways, hold-and-win and cluster games
Live casino	545	Every live table and game show, across seven studios
New	303	Recent additions, marked on the tile
Top	186	The operator’s own front shelf
Jackpots	72	Progressive and daily jackpot slots
Table games (software)	58	RNG blackjack, roulette, baccarat and poker

One caution if you check the numbers yourself. The category counters the site’s back end returns are roughly double the real lists — 12,281 for All Games — because each title is counted more than once. The lists the lobby actually shows you, and the “See all” totals on screen, match the 6,023.

That is the second-largest catalogue we have counted in Ontario, behind only the one PlayOJO, Spin Genie and SlotsMagic share. If library size is what you are comparing, ToonieBet is a front-runner rather than a “new site”.

Slots

Slots are 4,191 of the 6,023 titles. The biggest suppliers are the ones you would expect from a large Ontario lobby, but the depth below them is unusual: Pragmatic Play (501 titles), Play’n GO (389), Playtech (382), Hacksaw Gaming (310), Red Tiger (261), IGT (256), Relax Gaming (245) and Wazdan (189), then Light & Wonder, Amusnet, NetEnt, Octoplay, Booming Games, Ruby Play, Inspired, Iron Dog and Nolimit City. We counted the whole provincial slot catalogue, studio by studio, in our guide to online slots in Ontario.

Megaways

There are 198 Megaways titles, led by Pragmatic Play (46), Red Tiger (38), IGT (24) and Iron Dog (22), with Big Time Gaming’s originals among them. If the reel-modifier mechanic is what you play, few Ontario lobbies carry more.

Crash, Plinko and Mines

A small arcade corner of 36 titles covers the quick-round formats: several versions of Mines, Plinko games from more than one studio (Pine of Plinko, Plinko+, Mega Fire Blaze: Plinko), and crash-style games such as King Kong Crash Climber. These are short sessions with a single decision per round, and the house edge is set per game, so read the rules panel before you play.

Canadian-themed slots

The Canadian shelf is short but real: Wild Moose Bonanza, Maple Megaways and World Soccer Fortunes Canada sit in the slot catalogue, and the live floor adds the Canada blackjack tables described below.

New releases

The New shelf holds 303 titles, marked on the tile, which tells you the catalogue is being added to every week rather than left as it launched.

Where to start: the studio filter. With 88 studios, browsing by provider is faster than scrolling the front shelves, and it is the quickest way to find the smaller studios most Ontario lobbies do not carry.

Jackpots

The jackpot section holds 72 titles, split into Hot (30) and Daily (27) shelves. What it does not hold is a provincial network: there are no Maple Moolah titles, so the multi-operator Games Global pools that Jackpot City, Royal Panda and LeoVegas share are not here. The pots on ToonieBet are the studios’ own in-game and daily jackpots.

Where to start: treat the daily jackpots as a feature of the base game, not a target; they pay often and small by design.

ToonieBet Live Casino

This is ToonieBet’s strongest section. The live lobby holds 545 tables and shows, and it is one of the few in Ontario that draws on seven studios rather than one or two:

The ToonieBet Ontario live casino, read from Toronto in October 2026.

Live studio	Tables	Notable
Pragmatic Live	212	Mega Roulette, Sweet Bonanza CandyLand, speed blackjack
Evolution	150	Crazy Time, MONOPOLY Live, Lightning Roulette, Ice Fishing
Playtech	103	Includes 13 Live from Las Vegas tables: MGM Grand and Bellagio
Ezugi	48	Additional blackjack and roulette rooms
OnAir	16	Branded and speed tables
Skywind	13	Live casual and table games
Stakelogic	3	Live wheels

Blackjack and roulette tables

By game, the lobby’s own filters show 291 blackjack tables, 116 roulette wheels, 76 baccarat and dice tables, 44 game shows and 10 poker tables. Three blackjack tables are dealt for this market — Canada Classic Blackjack and Canada Ride Free Blackjack — and the Playtech floor brings Playboy Blackjack and Roulette and the Las Vegas studio: MGM Grand Live Roulette, American Roulette and Baccarat, Bellagio Live Roulette and Baccarat, and the Vegas Live blackjack tables. Every tile prints its stake range, from $0.10 up to $20,000 a hand on the high-limit wheels, so you can see the table limits before you sit down.

The Las Vegas tables

Thirteen of the Playtech tables are streamed from MGM properties on the Strip: MGM Grand Live Roulette, MGM Grand Live American Roulette and MGM Grand Live Baccarat, Bellagio Live Roulette and Bellagio Live Baccarat, Vegas Live Blackjack 1 and 2, Vegas All Bets Blackjack, Vegas Fire Blaze Blackjack, Vegas Roulette, Vegas Mega Fire Blaze Roulette, Family Feud Live from Las Vegas and Marble Race Las Vegas. In Ontario the same studio also runs at BetMGM, LeoVegas and NorthStar Bets.

Game shows

The 44 game shows come mainly from Evolution (19), Playtech (12) and Pragmatic Play Live (10): Crazy Time, MONOPOLY Live, Funky Time, Mega Ball, Ice Fishing, Crazy Pachinko, Lightning Storm and Money Time on the Evolution side; Adventures Beyond Wonderland, Joker’s Show and Mega Fire Blaze Lucky Ball from Playtech; and Sweet Bonanza CandyLand from Pragmatic. The headline multipliers are the ceiling, not the expectation, and the bonus rounds carry a higher house edge than the base wheel.

Baccarat and dice

The 76 baccarat and dice tables are spread across Playtech (26), Evolution (17), Pragmatic Live (14), Ezugi (10) and OnAir (9): speed, squeeze and no-commission baccarat, Golden Wealth and Lightning Baccarat, the MGM Grand and Bellagio baccarat tables, and dice games such as MONOPOLY Roll ’em.

Live poker

Ten live poker tables round it out — Casino Hold’em, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, Texas Hold’em Bonus, Caribbean Stud and 3 Card Brag — all played against the house rather than against other players.

Where to start: the Roulette and Blackjack filters at the top of the live lobby, sorted by the stake range printed on the tile.

Roulette, Blackjack and Table Games

Outside the live floor, the software table shelf is small — 58 RNG titles — and that is the one place the catalogue is thin. Blackjack, roulette and baccarat are overwhelmingly live products here. The arithmetic does not change with the studio: a single-zero wheel costs 2.70%, a double-zero wheel 5.26%, and the banker bet is the cheapest one at baccarat. The detail is in our guides to online roulette in Ontario, online blackjack in Ontario and online baccarat in Ontario.

Where to start: a live single-zero wheel at the low end of the printed stake range if you want to learn the interface without the cost of a double zero.

Software Providers

Eighty-eight studios is one of the widest rosters in the province. The top of it, by number of titles:

Studio	Titles	Studio	Titles
Pragmatic Play	501	Light & Wonder	158
Play’n GO	389	Amusnet	155
Playtech	382	NetEnt	139
Hacksaw Gaming	310	Octoplay	136
Red Tiger	261	Booming Games	123
IGT	256	Ruby Play	122
Relax Gaming	245	Inspired	118
Pragmatic Live	214	Iron Dog	118
Wazdan	189	Nolimit City	114
Evolution	185	High 5	100

Below those sit Skywind, Push Gaming, Playson, Stakelogic, Quickspin, Oryx, ELK, Big Time Gaming, Lightning Box, Red Rake, Ezugi, Thunderkick, Konami, AGS, Games Global, Foxium and some fifty more. Every studio serving the site is certified for the Ontario market and overseen by the AGCO.

The ToonieBet App

ToonieBet has a real Ontario app on both stores, and it is well rated. Several reviews still say it has no app; that has not been true since December 2024.

On iPhone and Android

iPhone (App Store, Canada)	Android (Google Play, Canada)
App	ToonieBet Ontario: Live Casino	ToonieBet Ontario: Live Casino
Publisher	Canadix Limited	Canadix Limited
Rating	4.44 from 2,709 ratings	4.23 from 1,323 ratings
Version / update	1.4.1, 29 September 2026	Updated 24 September 2026
Requirements	iOS 16.0 or later, 174.3 MB	10,000+ installs

The second app in the store

Two things to watch. First, a second iPhone app called ToonieBet – Casino & Betting sits in the same Canadian store, published by Globalix Holding Limited and rated 4.15 from 157 ratings. It carries the same maple-leaf logo and belongs to the tooniebet.com side of the brand, not to the Ontario casino. Install the one that says Ontario and is published by Canadix.

Two ToonieBet apps in the Canadian App Store: the Ontario one, by Canadix, and the other, by Globalix.

Ignore the APK advice

Second, ToonieBet’s own app page tells Android users to download an APK file from the website, “because Google Play has restrictions on gambling apps in some regions”, and to allow installs from unknown sources. You do not need to. The Ontario app is on Google Play Canada, from the same publisher, and installing from the store keeps your phone’s security settings where they belong.

With an iPhone rating above most of the province, ToonieBet sits near the top of our Ontario casino apps compared.

How to Sign Up and Log In at ToonieBet Ontario

1. Type tooniebet.ca or install the Ontario app. Not tooniebet.com, and not one of the lookalike domains. The footer of the inner pages should name Canadix Limited and OPIG1280338.
2. Register with the name, date of birth and address on your ID. The terms allow the operator to ask for documents within 30 days and to limit the account until you provide them.
3. Confirm you are 19+ and allow the location check. You can register from anywhere, but you can only wager while physically in Ontario.
4. Set your limits before you fund the account. Deposit and loss limits run per 24 hours, 7 days or month; tightening one takes effect immediately.
5. Upload your ID before your first withdrawal. Withdrawals are processed only after verification and security reviews, and verifying at the last minute is the most common cause of a slow first payout.

Verification and login

Identity checks can cover your full legal name, address, date of birth, occupation and citizenship, and the terms let the operator ask for documents within 30 days of a request. Have a photo ID and a recent proof of address ready, and use a payment method in your own name: withdrawals to an account in someone else’s name are cancelled.

Logging in afterwards is email and password. If a session is refused, it is almost always the location check rather than your credentials — a VPN or location services switched off will block play.

ToonieBet Payments in Ontario

Deposit and withdrawal methods

The public payments page on tooniebet.ca says “No payments found” — the list only appears in the cashier after you register. The help centre is more forthcoming, and between it and the terms the picture is clear:

Item	What ToonieBet publishes
Deposit methods	Interac, Visa, Mastercard, Paysafecard, Skrill (and Skrill 1 Tap), MuchBetter
Minimum deposit	$10 in general, varying by method
Card deposit fee	Yes — “imposed and collected by the credit card’s bank and not Tooniebet”
Minimum withdrawal	$20 in general, varying by method
Processing time	Within 72 business hours; the help centre says three business days, Monday to Friday
After processing	Bank transfers take a further 3–5 business days
Pending withdrawals	Up to three at a time; cancellable while pending
Daily withdrawal limit	$9,000
Where money goes back	To the method you deposited with, in your own name

Withdrawal limits by VIP level

The weekly and monthly withdrawal ceilings rise with the account’s VIP level:

VIP level	Weekly limit	Monthly limit
Level 1 and 2	$10,000	$40,000
Level 3	$15,000	$60,000
Level 4	$20,000	$80,000
Level 5	$30,000	$120,000

What slows a payout down

Three things to plan around. Processing counts business days only, so a Friday-evening request does not move until Monday. There is no PayPal and no Apple Pay, which several Ontario rivals now offer. And the card fee: the help centre attributes it to your bank rather than the casino, but it is a cost of depositing by card here, so Interac is the cheaper route in. Compare payout speed across the province in our guide to the fastest-paying Ontario casinos, and Interac specifically in Interac casinos in Ontario.

A note on cryptocurrency

One correction to make while we are here. ToonieBet’s About page promises “a wide choice of deposit methods, from card payments and bank transfers to e-wallets and cryptocurrencies“. There is no cryptocurrency in Ontario’s regulated market, and the site’s own configuration has it switched off. That sentence was written for a different market.

ToonieBet Customer Support

Support is the other area where ToonieBet is clearly above the provincial average. It publishes three channels, and all three are stated as round-the-clock:

Phone, chat and email

Channel	Details
Telephone	+1-844-789-4200, “available 24/7” — rare among Ontario casinos
Live chat	24/7, from every page
Email	support@tooniebet.ca
Complaints	complaints@tooniebet.ca — acknowledged within 24 hours or one business day, substantive reply within 10 days

How to complain

The complaints procedure in the terms is specific about what to send — your username, the subject line “COMPLAINT: (reason)”, dates and the outcome you want — which makes it easier to escalate to iGaming Ontario if the operator’s answer does not settle it.

Is ToonieBet Safe?

The regulated basics

On the regulated fundamentals, yes. ToonieBet is registered with the AGCO under OPIG1280338, contracted to iGaming Ontario, publishes its operator and address, runs identity and location checks, and has no AGCO monetary penalty on record that we could find. The games come from certified studios, and the terms set out a complaints path with deadlines.

Where the paperwork falls short

The weakness is the paperwork around the product, which reads in places as if it were written for another market:

• The About page offers cryptocurrency deposits that Ontario does not allow.
• The same page describes anti-money-laundering duties in terms of the EU’s “5th AML Amendment”, not Canada’s FINTRAC regime.
• A help article is titled “What deposit options does website have?” — a template field nobody filled in.
• The app page sends Android users to an APK download when the app is on Google Play.
• The home page footer omits the operator name and registration number that the inner pages print.

None of these is a safety failure, and none touches your money. Together they say the Ontario site shares its text with a wider operation, which is exactly why the tooniebet.ca versus tooniebet.com distinction above matters.

Responsible Gambling at ToonieBet

The toolkit is the provincial standard, set from the account’s limits page:

Limits, breaks and self-exclusion

Tool	How it works at ToonieBet
Deposit limit	Per 24 hours, 7 days or month; tightening is immediate
Loss limit	Per 24 hours, 7 days or month
Break in play	One day, one week, one month, two months or three months
Self-exclusion	ToonieBet’s own programme, plus BetGuard, Ontario’s province-wide scheme
Self-assessment	A quiz based on the Canadian Problem Gambling Index
Help lines	ConnexOntario, CAMH and the Responsible Gambling Council

BetGuard and the inactivity fee

Two details. The terms make clear that ToonieBet’s own self-exclusion and BetGuard are separate: registering with one does not cancel or change the other. And there is an inactivity clause to know about: after 180 days without a login the account becomes inactive and a CA$5 monthly administrative charge is taken from the real-money balance. That is a short fuse by Ontario standards — SpinAway, for example, waits twelve months — so withdraw what you are not using. More on the provincial tools in our guide to responsible gambling and BetGuard.

You must be 19 or older and physically in Ontario to play. ConnexOntario is free, confidential and open 24/7 on 1-866-531-2600, or text 247247.

Telephone support	Yes, 24/7	No	Yes	No

iPhone app rating	4.44	3.13	4.8	4.59
Withdrawal processing	72 business hours	“A few hours”	Instant approval (RushPay)	Within 24 hours

Who ToonieBet suits

ToonieBet suits players who want a very large lobby, a deep live floor and the option to bet on hockey or the CFL from the same balance — and who value being able to call someone at three in the morning. It suits players less well if fast withdrawals are the priority, if they want to pay by PayPal or Apple Pay, or if they tend to leave an account untouched for months, because the inactivity charge starts at six months rather than a year.

How it compares

ToonieBet’s case is breadth plus a phone line: a catalogue in the province’s top three, a seven-studio live floor, a casino and sportsbook on one account, and support you can call at any hour. Against BetRivers and Betano it loses on payout speed, and against Spin Genie it is level on catalogue size. For the full shortlist, see our ranking of the best online casinos in Ontario.

Five Things to Check Before Your First Deposit

1. The address and the operator. tooniebet.ca, with Canadix Limited and OPIG1280338 in the footer of the inner pages. If the footer names Tobix Limited or the Tobique Gaming Commission, you are on the other ToonieBet, outside the Ontario framework.
2. The app publisher. On iPhone and Android, install ToonieBet Ontario: Live Casino from Canadix Limited. Skip the Globalix app and skip the APK file the website offers Android users.
3. The cashier list. The public payments page is empty, so open the cashier after registering and check that your method is there for withdrawals as well as deposits. Interac avoids the card deposit fee.
4. Your limits. Set deposit and loss limits before you fund the account; they cover the casino and the sportsbook together.
5. Your documents. Upload ID and proof of address before your first withdrawal request, so the three-business-day processing window is the only wait.

None of these takes more than a few minutes, and together they remove the problems most likely to cost you time or money at this particular casino: the wrong site, the wrong app, the card fee and an unverified first payout.

How We Reviewed ToonieBet Ontario

Everything on this page was read from the operator, the regulator or the app stores in October 2026. We filtered the iGaming Ontario register by legal entity to confirm that Canadix Limited holds tooniebet.ca. We opened tooniebet.ca from a Toronto connection and read the full Ontario catalogue the lobby loads — every title, studio and live table, counted rather than estimated — and we opened tooniebet.com from a second Canadian connection to read its operator and licence. Payments, withdrawal rules, limits and complaints come from ToonieBet’s general terms (version 1.14, updated 21 August 2026) and its help centre. App figures come from the Canadian App Store and Google Play.

Where ToonieBet’s own pages contradict each other or the market they serve, we have shown you both and said which one applies. Where a number is not published, we have said so rather than borrowing one from another review.
