A slots specialist from Malta

Videoslots launched in 2011 and built its name on one idea: more slots than anyone else. It is still independent, runs its own platform and holds licences in four European markets as well as Ontario. The Ontario site is separate from the international one. It has its own terms, its own game list and its own support address, on.support@videoslots.com. Location checks run in the browser through GeoComply, with nothing to download.

Videoslots Games

5,460 games, counted

We read the full game list the Ontario site serves, category by category, from Toronto. It holds 5,460 games. That is one of the largest lobbies in Ontario, and well above the 2,000 to 3,800 that other reviews quote.

Category Games
Slots About 4,590
Live dealer 646
RNG table games 127
Other games (crash, plinko, mines, bingo, keno) 74
Video poker 12
Slots with a jackpot 357

Studios

The provider filter on the site lists 160 studios. Matching each game to its studio, these are the biggest suppliers:

Studio Games at Videoslots
Pragmatic Play (slots and live) 766
Play’n GO 400
Evolution (live and slots) 383
Hacksaw Gaming 204
Wazdan 147
Greentube 143
Relax Gaming 137
Red Tiger 131
Microgaming 111
Nolimit City 111

The long tail is what sets Videoslots apart. Alongside the big names you will find dozens of small studios that few Ontario casinos carry, such as Bullshark Games, Gameburger Studios, Print Studios, RAW iGaming, Spinberry, Snowborn and Northern Lights Gaming. There are 33 Slingo games, 43 bingo-style games, 17 crash games and 15 mines games. More in our guide to Ontario online slots.

Game Payouts: What Each Game Has Actually Paid

Videoslots Ontario game payouts page: actual payout ratios for Book of Dead (94.5%), Lightning Roulette (96.6%) and Gates of Olympus (94.2%), updated daily

Among the casinos we review, only Videoslots and its sister site Mr Vegas offer this, and it is the reason to read this section. Videoslots publishes a payout ratio for every game: total wins divided by total bets, measured on real play and updated every day. A published RTP is what a game is designed to return over millions of rounds. The payout ratio is what it has actually returned to players on the site. We downloaded the all-time figures for 5,401 games.

Most-played games Actual payout
Book of Dead 94.5%
Lightning Roulette 96.6%
Gates of Olympus 94.2%
Sweet Bonanza 95.4%
Temple Tumble Megaways 94.6%
Book of Ra Deluxe 95.4%
Sakura Fortune 96.5%
Reactoonz 94.9%
Wanted Dead or a Wild 95.2%
Wolf Gold 94.1%

Across the 100 most-played games the average is 95.46%. Some popular games have returned more: Madame Destiny Megaways 97.7%, Gonzo’s Quest 97.2% and Big Bad Wolf 97.1%. Others have returned less: Sugar Rush 93.3%, Gates of Olympus 1000 93.4% and Three Card Poker 91.8%. One blackjack game, Vegas Single Deck Blackjack, has even paid out more than it took in, at 100.2%.

How to read the numbers

Treat payout ratios as a guide, not a forecast. They follow the long-run RTP on games with heavy play. On games that are rarely played, one big win can push the ratio well above 100%, and a dry spell can pull it far below. The site says this itself. Use them to check that a popular game returns roughly what you expect, and to compare similar games. Never use them to guess which game is “due”: every round is independent. Compare with our list of the highest-RTP slots in Ontario.

What the ratios show, by game type and by studio

We grouped the 300 most-played games, where the ratios are most reliable, by type. The pattern matches the maths: skill-based table games return the most, and jackpot slots the least, because part of every bet funds the jackpot.

Game type (300 most-played) Games Average actual payout
RNG table games 9 97.83%
Live dealer 43 96.63%
Slots 244 94.95%
Jackpot slots 3 92.73%

By studio, across the 500 most-played games, the gap is just as clear. It reflects how each studio sets its games, not luck on one title.

Studio (500 most-played) Games Average actual payout
NetEnt 8 97.09%
Evolution 85 96.37%
Microgaming 9 96.18%
Quickspin 24 95.86%
Play’n GO 61 95.02%
Hacksaw Gaming 23 94.65%
Pragmatic Play 89 94.53%
Push Gaming 16 93.53%

The practical lesson: if your budget is fixed and you want it to last, the live tables and the older NetEnt and Quickspin slots have returned more here than the newest high-volatility releases.

Jackpot Slots

Videoslots lists 357 slots with a jackpot. Some are fixed jackpots inside a single game; others are progressives shared across many games, whose running totals are shown in the lobby sidebar and were above $3.6 million when we checked. Studios such as Greentube, Red Tiger and Blueprint supply many of them, including Diamond Cash, Cash Strike and the Rapid Fire range.

Two things to know. Jackpot slots usually return less in the base game, as the payout ratios above show. And under the Ontario terms, a jackpot win of $50,000 or more can take up to 30 working days to process, while any withdrawal above $30,000 is paid by bank transfer.

Videoslots Live Casino

Videoslots Ontario live casino grid with Evolution and Pragmatic Play tables: Crazy Time, Lightning Sic Bo, VIP Roulette, Speed Baccarat and Blackjack Silver tables

The live section lists 646 tables, almost all from the two biggest studios: Evolution (332) and Pragmatic Play Live (247). OnAir adds tables named after Canadian cities, including Blackjack Toronto, Blackjack Montreal, Blackjack Calgary and Ottawa Blackjack, and Stakelogic adds 19 more.

Live category Tables Examples
Blackjack 431 Blackjack Silver A–G, VIP tables, Blackjack Platinum VIP, Blackjack Toronto
Baccarat 92 Speed Baccarat, No Commission Baccarat, Baccarat Squeeze
Roulette 50 Lightning Roulette, VIP Roulette, Double Ball Roulette, Immersive Roulette
Poker 10 Casino Hold’em and other house-banked poker
Game shows and dice Dozens Crazy Time, Red Baron, Super Sic Bo, Lightning Sic Bo, Craps

Blackjack makes up two-thirds of the live floor, with tables at every stake level. The payout ratios cover live games too: Lightning Roulette has returned 96.6%, VIP Roulette 97.0% and Speed Baccarat A 97.3%. Compare in our guides to Ontario live casinos and blackjack at Ontario casinos.

The Videoslots App

Videoslots has no native app for Ontario. We found none in the Canadian App Store. Videoslots’ own app is not on Google Play in Canada; the one in European stores is the international version, not the Ontario site. You play in the mobile browser, which loads the full lobby, the live casino and the payout ratios. Location checks run in the browser too. Ontario casino apps compared shows which Ontario operators have native apps.
